  • No vehicle in America is as iconic as the Jeep Wrangler which is why it was absolutely critical that the all-new model get everything right. With better on-road dynamics, off-road ability and more options and accessories than ever Jeep seems to have hit this one out of the park. Whether you're looking for a solid V6 off-roader, a mild hybrid companion or a torque-happy diesel, this is the Wrangler you're looking for.

    Great video! I noticed you said that you have to pull the backup camera off to remove the spare. That isn't true, as only the shroud is removed while the camera stays in place for the spare to slide over.

    I know the wrangler and tacoma are two different types of vehicles, but I'd love to see them compared against each other. I see on many other videos the taco and wrangler going head to head on trails and wonder how you would compare them, Alex. Or just a review on the Tacoma TRD Pro would be nice!

    • @bullrambler
      @bullrambler 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The tacoma needs proper tires for the off road comparison.

  • @stephanematis
    @stephanematis 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    As a 4Runner TRD owner, I really hope FCA did all their best in this Wrangler. There needs to be improvements that lead to positive competition. Diesel 4Runner would be a welcome outcome, though unlikely.

      snazari1994 the Tacoma extended cab has the "long" 6ft bed. Tacoma's with double cab have a 5ft bed normally, and only a small percentage of the DC's are made with the longer 6ft bed. Overall length between extended cab with 6ft bed and double cab with 5ft bed is the same.

    $53,000 for a Wrangler is still extreme. The 2.0 Turbo looks like a better option than the thirsty 3.7. The diesel should be an interesting option if FCA doesn't price it out of the market.

    I imagine if they gave up highway capability they would be exempt from the safety and fuel economy standards so I doubt this car will cease to exist because of cafe, it just might end up limited in speed at some point in the future.
    Let's be honest here, should people really be buying an off road vehicle that gets low 10s mpg to commute in?

    The cabin noise is what drives me nuts about wranglers. That’s the number one reason it’s a no-go for me. The removable doors/roof offer no sound insulation at all. That’s fine for a weekend off road rig, but terrible on a daily basis.
    I have a 2016 4Runner limited. I personally am curious how my center diff stacks up on and off road to the wrangler. Alex you are my number one favorite reviewer online. Keep the great reviews coming!

    i dunno about the new wranglers look, the beauty of the old one was that you can mod it anyway you like and it would still look just as nice if not better, throw on jerry cans, shovel, pick, as many LED lights as you want, hi-lift jack, winch, etc... you can do anything you want to it or nothing and it was nice, this wrangler might not be as forgiving of mods.

      One review on a early model (or maybe even pre-production) tells you all you need to know? How about TFL's diesel hiccups, or Alfa Romeo shenanigans, Z06 track tests by MT, GT350 diff or trans cooler woes? All were early on in the model run, and shouldnt be representative of what the majority of people experience.

    Very interesting when non-Jeep people try and walk people around a Wrangler. Right away Alex claims Jeep as a division of FCA does not like to draw a linage to the WWII Jeep. He is wrong. He also stumbles around typical Wrangler characteristics of folding windshields and implies that a Jeep owner would be lost without the provided tools from Jeep. Alex is surly a passenger car driver and probably a Toyota or Honda. These type of folks don't really understand vehicles like a Wrangler. Alex should probably stick to foreign passenger car reviews.
