When I show up to the Auric Maelstrom with crusher/bulwark packs and no ammo pickups, I always have Trauma w/ Rending. The squad is always happy to see it.
I have a really nice rending trauma that I was blessed with that I really should use more cuz I didnt pay millions of resources to find it and I know how hard they are to come by. Now a blaze trauma is probably something I’ll never find lol
Trauma is still good without this specific blessings combo, but it's true that this is a totally different beast. I've played for so long and only got it recently.. Let's hope that the promised crafting update will drastically improve things for the better.
@@xstreamdray I’ll eventually farm for another trauma or find one in the shop and get lucky. People would be surprised how much god roll gear you can find from the shop or even an emperors gift. All you need is a little luck and hundreds of hours played lol
It's not really a good system for people who play casually. Imo this game needs to be like L4D 1/2 or Killing Floor 1/2 where the endgame is honing your skill, not praying for good weapons..
@@xstreamdray i have like 1100 games on xbox and I still dont have surgical IV and a handful of other blessings but I have most of them. Insane that if you arent a grinder you wont ever find what you need. Thats also why damnation nowadays is basically malice because they want resources but havent taken the time to watch a few videos or take notes like I do and actually climb difficulties while build crafting. Everyone wants instant gratification when build crafting games take time. The system is a big part of that but you cant really casually play darktide because you have to know what youre doing ontop of what to look for in the shop and how to craft. It pains me when I see people wasting resources on terrible weapons that have nonsensical blessings and perks on them.
@@infrared6973 Yeah if I ever see a normal maelstrom damnation, I avoid it, though I used to go into them when the auric maelstrom had been beaten and I was waiting on a refresh for a new map. I've been taught quickly what the average damnation player is now. Sounds elitist but I swear to god these mfers just dash ahead as fast as they can, get wiped and leave the moment they hit the ground. Every. Fucking. Time.
How do you show the effective dodges as progress bar similar to the stamina bar ? Couldn't find an option for that in Numeric UI 🤔 Edit: NVM found the mod for it
Late to the Party, but I just recently got back to DT. I do play psyker a lot tho I always found outside of using Purgatus my monster damage is so-so at max. Even with flame staff and emported psyonics burst it can't even get close to some of the monster deleting classes in this game. Assuming there is no unlimited amount of stims laying around, how do you keep up with your team on a mission like that, where monster damage is very important?
Boss damage is always something Psyker lack (except for Gun Psykers). Dueling Sword Mk4 or any Knife with Flesh Tearer + Riposte is basically your best answer to bosses. Brain Rupture works great too.

Honestly don't know.. To this day, this game is still poorly optimized. Every time someone leaves the game, it lags. Every time someone joins the game, it lags. The horrible servers don't register weapon swaps (often leading to deaths). My dodge count UI mod would show that I dodged but the game just doesn't register it (which again would lead to death). If the gameplay wasn't so good, I wouldn't be surprised if people quit the game just for these reasons alone.
can somebody explain whats so great about trauma, im probably using it wrong but from my personal experience voidstrike just was better most of the time
For the most part, Trauma Staff just indiscriminately stuns and kills everything except bosses. You find a good position, and you can literally hold it forever if you wanted to. Voidstrike Staff can get overwhelmed in some situations (e.g.: 20 armored enemies rushing you), whereas the Trauma can just bully everything endlessly while dishing out impressive DPS.
Staff Psykers just spam staff attacks 90% of the time, so your melee is just for mobility, taking out muties, and bosses. Mk 5 has more mobility and creates more space for you to spam staffs. Slightly less damage than Mk 4, but either works. You can also use the Combat Knife, which is crazy against bosses but will struggle more against mutie spam Maelstrom conditions.

How come you use Mark V instead of Mark IV Dueling sword? I feel like IV is just better but would like to know why you use V instead
