3:36 "The purpose of life, is to live a life of purpose"
5:56 "In life, you only get what you believe you deserved"
The 1st rule of self-disruption: The only 2 things you need to succeed in life, are insight & drive

Great quotes by Jay Samit. Have you read his book yet? World Economic Forum 2016 says that over 5mil jobs will go to automation by 2020. Check out my review of his book on LinkedIn here, www.linkedin.com/pulse/whats-your-big-zombie-idea-2016-ivonne-teoh

Change Who You Think You Are is a profound statement of transformation from the distorted mirroring we received as children to changing our filter to be deciding if our thought or action is determining and useful for who we want to be.

This message needs to be proclaimed far & wide for all to hear! Especially my favorite, "Fear of failure is the most fiendish on earth. It robs you of your success and the world of your creation." Way to go Jay! Keep on keepin' on Mr. Disruptor!

Immortality is making a difference with the time we have.
    3 lies keeping us enslaved
    1. Not smart enough, in life you only get what you think you deserve, master the process not the job
    2. I will fail, fear creates paralysis, appreciate on how far you've come. A negative mind will never find success. Success doesn't make you, being happy makes you successful
    3. I don't have resources, figure out how to get to know people. Success comes from helping solve others problems.
For you to change who you are, you must change who you think you are, time to disrupt you.

I think it's very interesting to note how few views amazing talks like this get. I'm not saying the popular talks are bad; it's just that they are usually very charismatic speakers who are good at talking TO the audience rather than at them.

I read his book Disrupt YOU!, and it was really good. It shows you how to look at the world through the lenses of innovation. If you are trying to figure out how to start company, this book can open your eyes.

The world Authority on Disruption, speaking from real life experiences from owning and running companies from around the world. Great insight on disrupting our own life. I would recommend you get Jays book "Disrupt You" and judge the master of disruption yourself. Thank you Jay, you made a great impact on my life last year with your book.

Sorry if i am wrong, but isn't amazon the largest online retailer in the world?

    • @cxa011500

No, not anymore. It's Alibaba now.

    • @Gameboob
      @Gameboob 8 ปีที่แล้ว

I looked it up, Amazon has a higher revenue, but much lower profit margins. I'm not actually clear why Alibaba is considered "bigger" if their revenue is lower, but the profit difference was striking. Amazon made 274 M USD profit in 2014. Alibaba made 3.5 B USD in that year. And Alibaba is poised to grow faster than Amazon.

Asks why people are working the jobs they hate. 'Cause ~70% of population would starve to death if they didn't.

Teaches? Or recites clichés in a Tim Cook voice? Yes, they're mostly true. So ok.
Just remember negative people can't have positive ideas. During the shuttle disaster,
the engineers were positive about the O-Ring's risk of failure, therefore
nothing negative could result? Not so. Some people are disagreeable and
lower in openness, it doesn't make their ideas invalid. Asserting otherwise is something
only a negative person would say. Which means the logic is self invalidating.

vague, common sense, positivity, etc.. far out man. a single piece of practical, insightful advice would've been nice
