Great stuff Chad! Did you make all of these products with the XTool D1? I'm actually looking at CO2 lasers, and I didn't think the D1 would do everything I saw here... could buy several D1's for the cost of what I'm looking at with the CO2s...

If I win this laser it would jump start my small business. Currently I drive semi trucks but I look forward to one day working from home. This laser would allow me to really kick start my business this summer, give me more time with my kids, and start the journey to becoming my own boss.
I plan on making items that involve leather and acrylics. Cutting leather pieces to assemble can be very time consuming and engraving with a third party takes even longer. This laser would take my production time down tremendously. As well, I would be stoked to attempt some new product ideas I have involving acrylics. ☺️

I am graduating high school this year as a former student of his! I love woodworking and plan to pay my way through college with it! I would use the laser to add a personal touch to the things that I sell, most of which are wood turned! I am excited to get into woodworking more now that I will have more free time! I have made many things from ice cream scoops to full-size dining room tables!

I'm in my 50's and slowly becoming less able to do the type of work I used to due to cognitive decline. I've gone from near genius IQ to some days not being able to add and subtract. I've found woodworking recently and this allows me to still be productive and makes me feel useful again. With woodworking, it doesn't matter if I forget, or can't think of words. I currently have a cheaper laser, and having this would allow me to make better quality items and be able to contribute to our bank account again. I would love to make keychains, layered projects, earrings and other items I've been designing.

I’m asking because when my doctor put my on Benzo due to panic attacks caused by bully bosses, my cognitive function declined so I tapered off of it slowly and I’m slowly getting better. We started fostering last year, and the fostering community is awesome but needs as much support as we can get. An idea I have is to make personalized boxes that families can put mementos, pictures, and documents that help makes a timeline of the process from fostering to adoption. When the family is ready they can give the box to their child to help explain their story, learn about their birth family, and celebrate their unique history. The laser would be a huge help! I am just starting a woodworking side business too but these boxes would be gifts, certainly not sold

I'm military and It could help with doing going aways, awards, door signs and such. I'm 12 year active duty Air Force sheet metal and we repair the aircrafts, so we have all types of metal and always make going aways for people on base. Having a Laser engraver would really help make our craftsmanship with metal working really pop with engraved designs and even at a cheaper cost which would help save money instead of having to find someone off base to do it. Plus Ive always wanted to learn how to use one of these and make a job for myself when I leave the service when I hit my 20 years.

A while back I used to make my own guitar picks for friends and myself. Having a laser would not only speed up the process but designing multiple styles and etching custom logo's would be awesome. I have many friends who are also musicians and having the ability to etch their band logo's on merch or etch on a canvas with their album artwork would be sweet for the local music scene. Since I own a German Shepherd and love dogs and animals in general. Custom name tags but with cool design logo's. For example, I named my dog Bruce as in Bruce Wayne, I'd like to design the bat logo with the words Bruce inside, I'm sure many pet owners name their pets after their favorite super hero's lol. One more thing, I've got in the habit of collecting cool action figures again, but noticed they all come with plain round boring stands, an idea would be to design round stands but with custom logo's that go with each figure..

At the moment I'm only producing aids for kids in my city but I'd like to expand nationwide as I feel despite there disability they should be able to experience the world in the closest way to vision that is possible. Hello!
My name is Justin, I work full time, and my wife and i run a small business out of our garage.. On Christmas Eve, we were blessed with our 7th child (Hadassah)... We have a cnc machine (shark hd-4) a lichtenberg machine for fractals, and we do epoxy as well... I backed a 3d printer on Kickstarter
(JadeLabo J1) but do to Covid, it hasn't come yet... We're slowly dialing in our craft and stuff is starting to look great... Problem is it takes forever to make a product.. That, plus working full time, pluss my huge family...
Moral of the story, if i was to win this laser, i feel like it would fix a huge amount of the issues my business is having because you can make a lot more stuff a lot faster.. And cheaper. This is the exact laser i was already going to buy anyway... Just cant afford to yet. Anyway, good luck everyone!!

This would be Awesome! I have a small leather and laser etching business I run out of my basement. I'm just getting started with the laser part, which I originally bought just to help with cutting patterns in the leather, but have now expanded into doing coasters and soon I hope to be doing a lot more. The cheapish laser I started with is ok, but I now know I need something much better if I'm going to make this work. I need this business to grow so my autistic son can have a way of supporting himself in the coming years, as his social abilities are VERY limiting when it comes to getting a job where "strangers" are going to be expecting him to pick up the job and do it just as fast as they are. Once I get profitable I will be able to ease him into operation, while his brother handles the logistics and book keeping. If I can't leave my boys anything else, I can at least leave them a way to make a living once I'm not here to support them anymore.

I retired from the Navy SEABEEs 20 years ago and from my second career 6 months ago. I'm a furniture maker by trade and awhile back I developed a drawing tool to use in the shop. Being a wood guy I made the tool out of wood, it worked well and I proceeded to make more prototypes adding gears and generally refining the whole mechanism. In 2003 we lost our house and my shop to a forest fire and consequently my invention and well, everything. No worries, we rebuilt and love the place. Soooo many years later I've picked it up again and have made the final prototype. It is now in the final phase of the patent process! The whole of the device can be made in-house in my shop except for one process- the laser engraving on the surface. Fine markings for the calibration and the insignia for the company. I've put a lot into this and winning the xTool D1 would be amazing! Keep up the great work and videos. Best GK

I am a recently laid off software engineer due to COVID. Winning this would help me get my small business off the ground full time, which up to now has been just part time. I would use it mainly in two areas. First I would supply local bars and clubs with signage and also engraving on their glasses and mugs with a rotary. Both for their business branding and for special events they hold. Secondly i would hook up with local truck accessory suppliers for their custom engraved items and leather engraving and cutting for hats. But I would not just stop there.. Including color filling engravings with Thermoplastic Powder Coat Paint. I think this unit would be great for that

With the ease of use I've seen with the X-tool D1, they will be able to also learn the other aspects like starting a business entity, taxes, bank accounts, marketing plans, Product design, and the manufacturing/shipping processes. This tool would allow them to maybe make items like you mentioned, but gives them a direct and less complicated route to start selling at craft shows and places like Esty and eBay.

You have to plan for way more than that if you want a house, unless you're happy to live in a dingy area and travel an hour or more to the city. I guess everything is relative in perspective. I have the same problem here in Belgium. I made some MDF clocks with a diameter of 30cm (18mm thick) and I manually milled a picture on them using a handheld router with a v-bit and painted them afterwards using very fine pencils. This took several hours in total and I posted the pictures on social media and got some responses up until the point where they asked for the price. The MDF board, clock mechanism and the handles cost me already 10 euros in materials, I have 2-3 hours of work on such a clock and I asked 30 euros (perhaps 30-40 dollars) and I never heard from them again. And I don't have the money to migrate to the US as it seems everything can be sold there for any price. Now with my cnc, I also have very little work as everyone I know doesn't need anything.

As a self-employed craftsman, I'd use the Xtool to teach my son the importance of working with customers and new tools-of-the-trade to make your business flourish. I want my son to see it's not all corner clamps and palm sanders, and the Xtool could help his future business compete with big box stores by delivering quality, personalized, and engaging products that start conversations for decades.
