Would be happy to make you one. Are you a slim wallet kind of guy? Or do you need space for every loyalty card you have ever owned... kind of guy? haha
Good job Dan. I have a laser from the opposition and so far it has done a great job. They really do add another bow to the maker's armoury. Keep up the good work. All the best.
A couple of questions: Where would you recommend getting laser engravable tumblers? How would you calculate how much to charge for engraving? Great video! Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
Hi there, Thanks for commenting. To start off with I would just go to the big box stores etc. I have really tried to avoid engraving YETIs/Stanley Cups because if you make a mistake with the engraving you are on the hook to replace it and they aren't cheap. How much do I charge depends on the set up of the job and the engraving time. The 40W laser helped speed up the process for me but the time is in the set up, especially if there are multiple layers. Each part of the world is different but my strategy is to charge a set rate for every 6 square inches so they know that there is a minimum charge. If they say they can get it cheaper elsewhere, I am more than happy for them to go elsewhere.
Hi there, Thank you for commenting. Just regular water based black paint. There are etching sprays which are really expensive but all you need is something to help the material absorb the light source.
If you want to make good profits run your speed up. On powder coated tumblers I run 10500 mm/min and 85% power on my 20w diode. Can do a standard 75x75mm logo in 5-6 min. I have 2 machines running at once and can easily make over $100/hr profit. Tough to make profits at 2500 mm/min doing any project for sale.
Hi there, thank you for commenting. The link to the product is in the video description which will have a much more detailed specifications etc. It is the Creality 40W diode Laser Engraver. Thank you.
Hi just found you on TH-cam, great video on the products. I recently bought a Falcon 2 40w with the rotary attachment not used it yet, I’m still trying to work out the settings for the rotary part in Lightburn as don’t fully understand the manual that came with it. could I ask or a screen shot of your setting or a video on setting it up it would be a great help. thanks Paul
That's a good question. Not as much as you would think. Because it's waaaaay easier to cut leather than 3mm ply, the laser is actually cutting for far less time so I prefer it to cutting wood which produces much more smoke.
Hey thanks for commenting. If you can hold off for a couple of months Creality will be releasing their fume extractor. I’ll be doing a video with it but again it’s probably a month and a half a way. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful
8:10 WOW! This part kinda tripped me out a bit... My brother's name is Rhys, his girlfriend's name is Anna and they they live beside the Burnett River in Bundaberg. The 3 cups you showed said "Rhys", "Anna" and "Riverside (woodworks)" Too much coincidence in one short span of a totally random video!
Great video and ideals, what were the settings you used for the mirror ( PWR/ SPD / Offset fill, line or fill/ Lines per inch)i have the falcon 22 watt creality learnig . thank you
@@riversidewoodworks sidenote the practice mirrors (4"x4") I am using have white paint on the back. I did not know that when I ordered them. They were meant to be sacrificial test media.
I am not sure about electronic devices. I would be keen as I would love to engrave the back of my iPhone, but not game to try it. Creality have a 1.6W laser which comes with their 40W laser now so maybe the ultra precise laser would be good for that.
Hi there, when you use a diode laser the wave length passes straight through the glass and does not interact with the material at all. So you need a medium that will block the wave length causing the laser beam to be absorbed by the glass. You do not need to do this with a CO2 laser as the wave length is different. Hope this helps
why xtool laser engravers much more expensive than these ones ? can these 2 models do the same what xtool does ? what are the limitations of these lasers that you have ?
Xtool has much more technology invested in their products (I can only talk about the Xtool P2). The P2 comes with wifi, two cameras. All the wires are built in. Air pump is built in. Fume extractor fan is built in. Creality has all of these things as an attachment meaning there is about 17,000 wires hanging out all over the place. Wifi is a huge game changer as I don’t have to have a wire from computer to laser
@@riversidewoodworks oh see ) but I understand that these 2 models can be good to start with engraving business. are they easy to use for someone who doesnt have any experience ?
@@riversidewoodworks the company looks again a chinese company. If I order to canada , is there any extra costs for shipment and customs, etc ? and if any problem happens, how does the warranty help because the company is not canadian )
Doesn't sound like you've actually been selling these items as of the making of this video. Are you basing these recommendations on first hand experience or your best guess?
Hi there, Thanks for commenting. Also apologies for the late reply. I have sold almost all of the products in this video now and in the past. The only exception is the etched drinking glasses. Haven't found a customer base for those but I just know they are out there. Thank you.
@riversidewoodworks Hey thanks for responding to my question! Reading it now the tone was a bit more aggressive than intended, which makes me appreciate the response all the more. Happy making!
I’m still trying to work out how to share prices on TH-cam since everywhere is different. In Australia things are pretty expensive due to our high minimum wage ($23.23 an hour which I believe is the 3rd highest in the world). So Americans can’t believe it with I share prices and say “no one would pay that much” etc.
The sponsor gotta be happy with this! That is a great lineup of goodies Dan... but yeah... don't use the expensive leather first 🤣
Yeah mate very happy. As a result I have a new laser on the way!
Keep up the great content mate. Grateful viewers over here in New Zealand.

Great video! Thank you for making it, there were some very important things I learned, especially with the leather wallets

kids + paint + craft project = winner 👍
Yeah mate with that one the possibilities are endless. I also really like the idea of just preparing them flat packed. Easy storage and easy postage.
Great video and ideas. Looking forward to more.
Really slick video Dan.
Well done on that subs count. Glad it’s going well pal. 👍
Thank you mate. As always I appreciate your support.

nicely done. I had not seen the appetizer wine caddies. those are sure to be a smash,

Haha you’re right. Not sure if that fly can see properly anymore

Needs to be Veg tanned leather for lasering. Otherwise it will release toxic fumes.
