Hey just would like to point out almost the entirety of the piano part is incorrect from the video. Cid knew other songs it's how he taught Epsilon things like the Turkish March. He chose the moonlight sonata because it was the only song he PRACTICED (aka was good at) and he was apprehensive about becoming a pianist because he'd have to practice the other songs instead of being a one trick
@@AniNews also i think you should give cid more credit when it comes to his intelligence, while he does appear naive at times he's actually amazingly intelligent even in the real world, a person who has mastery over several martial arts, can play piano at a very high level (while yes moonlight sonata is the only song he did practice it's hard to believe he can't play anything else well considering how difficult the entire composition is), the way he was able to explain to the seven shadows about the real world inventions, i don't think most people would remember or even know to explain so much about our technology if they were just transfered into the middle age, the way he uses magic shows his outside the box thinking, such as rearranging his organs and being unharmed when stabbed. I think while yes the seven shadows do praise him too much he is still more intelligent than any of them. We can also see an example of his intelligence when in season 1 that pink haired girl (forgot her name) explained to him ways he can counter the magic barrier type artifact, later he was actually able to come up with a way to do it on his own without the help of the artifact that they used previously. Also i'm quite curious to see if cid know the entire moonlight sonata or just the first movement, but it wouldn't surprise me considering how skilled he is at piano.
Moonlight is not the only song Cid knows on Piano. In season 1 he stated his Family made him take Piano lessons and after a while he was quite hardcore about it. Epsilon even tells him that of all the pieces he has taught her Moonlight Sonata is her Favorite one. It's actually so cool all the small details they put in the show in that same Episode Season 1 Episode 17 Epsilon is playing moonlight for a group of people and the way she plays the song is a bit more choppy/unprofessional compared to when Cid plays it. It really shows the skill Gap between the two. Thats why Epsilon was so happy when Cid played because every one there witnessed the true essence of Moonlight Sonata. That would be equivalent to us watching Beethoven or a very skilled pianist play it live.
This is one of the reasons I hate the transitions. In the Light Novels it said 1 of many songs in original Japanese. When translated to English it said Many songs of 1 and was only fixed in the manga and anime. Also being know as green in Japanese culture doesn’t mean to be new, it means to be “Settled” or well worked. Being Brown means new because the land has not been developed yet. Epsilon called Shadow bright green at music on the piano meaning that he is a master. The audience called CID brown before his performance. When translated to English the colors were switched. Again the translators not understanding slang and colloquialisms in Japan.
We all know that he'd just assume they used the vast wealth they acquired from the company to hire a massive amount of actors/actresses to constantly perform in front of him, all to continue a game he thought they grew out of when they were younger.
Problem is who is manipulated sid actually??sid have all the info bloated in his mind that actually a real thing but sid make it like it was his fantasy ..i m want to know who is the actual person that roll the dice same like the goblin slayer
dude Aurora could literally just walk up to him transform into Diablos and scream I AM THE GREAT DEMON DIABLOS and he'd be like whoa nice slime transformation skills, you got Epsilon beat! He will never not be ignorant of the cult and reality.
Oh, don't worry. He's always doing it intentionally. Just... not consciously. He _might_ be doing it consciously this time, though, 'cause he said he'd already solved the problem, and _did_ say he was going back to his roots before, in this arc.
There was a brief scene that they included in the anime that was only in the original web novel version. Briefly after he mentions trying out a whole bunch of things like getting thrown in jail. He mentions joining a volunteer army and recreating a legend. In the web novel this is the Legend of the Black Rose and he basically powers up the volunteer army and they defeat an army from the Perv/Cult faction. The story honestly was boring so I do enjoy how the author rewrote the Legend of the Black Rose in the manga and Light novel. Still, I like that the anime had an Easter Egg to the web novel version.
They can't really show the Mortal Kombat fatalities that they had in the manga in the anime because they'd get cancelled so fast unfortunately. Another change in the anime is that when Epilson is giving Cid a shoulder massage, Victoria is massaging his feet. Also, they are in the bath when this happens. So Epilson and Victoria are getting a good look at his EX-CALIBUR!
My favorite part in those episodes was the added content, how they did a quick summery of the WN in the prison and the battles they had with the old guys. Granted we never met Rose's sister because she doesn't exist in the LN anime, or manga. Also no zombies.
The changes aside, both episodes really highlighted Rose's turmoil and how after being overpowered by foes far stronger than her has only served as a realization to Rose how she hasn't changed anything and the nightmare of her father blaming her for his death meant her act to save her father before is now a curse that haunts her and knowing a civil war has started in her kingdom because of her act only added to her guilt. It also didn't help that Victoria aka 559 was sort of passive aggressive towards her to a degree. I like how the Seven Shades after knowing of Rose's "betrayal" also acknowledged how they also held some responsibility for it keeping vital information about the state of the Oriana Kingdom from her. Shadow of course already has a means to make sure Rose doesn't die and so that the Key the cult has found is retrieved and he's done the latter already. Funny enough, even though it's for his desire to slay a tyrant empress, making sure Rose becomes queen is actually the best solution for Rose as well. Speaking of queen, I honestly feel bad for Rose, her father being turned into a puppet aside, her mother Queen Reina knows of everything that is happening to the kingdom yet she has done nothing about it and the embodiment of wasteful use of tax money from the commonfolk other than the cookies and tea. Rose feeling powerless having her father's blood on her hands and her mother's life on her hands, what Rose needs is a bit of unfathomable encouragement to save her mother and her kingdom. Also a bit of a correction, Moonlit Sonata isn't the only song Cid knows, after all it was Cid who taught Epsilon and so Cid has played many songs on the piano. He chose Moonlit Sonata because that's the one song many people knows and I guess the one he is the best at.
It’s not…he even stated in this series that his parents had made him study the piano back on Earth. He hated it at first but then realized what a flex it was so he mastered it!
I'd just like to point out that the anime did Epsilon even more dirty than was mentioned. Not only did they up the percentage of padding, but when Cid mentioned the maid's lack of padding, Epsilon got hit with the I AM ATOMIC animation and sound effect.
Thanks for the consistent eminence uploads, there isn’t many big youtubers who make content on it so thanks for giving it more exposure, hoping for a season 3 announcement after season 2 ends
Funnily enough, this is one of the most consistent parts of the mid volumes, where was able to understand the characters in the turmoils consistency of the story, and the way the author described environment
Grasp Heart is truly a favorite skill among chuunis. Seeing that in the anime would've been cool, but the anime feels like it wants to emphasize the comedy aspect a bit more so the one we got was more fitting.
Actually, I think grasp heart is drastically more comedic, since it abuses an unoriginal trope. And I prefer this one, because it shows he can sneak into anything without anyone noticing, which makes him even more of an Eminence in Shadows. A true wolf among sheep. There's absolutely nothing funny about killing everyone while the main guy is talking his heart out and not realizing an outsider infiltrated them.
I can't get enough of this series. The constant misunderstandings are pure comedy gold. Tearmoon Empire employs similar comedy with everyone misunderstanding Mia's motives and thought processes but Cid is still the King of Misunderstandings. XD
The anime scene where Cid is eating cookies/biscuits had me laughing nonstop. It was fantastic, especially when contrasted with the potato chip scene from Death Note.
"Obviously this was the only song that Cid knew" First of all, it's a musical piece, not a "song" it doesn't contain any lyrics. Second, no, it isn't the only piece he can play. The Moonlight Sonata is just his favorite piece because it appeals to personal fantasies. He specifically mentions having come to enjoy piano in his previous life and HE was the one who taught Epsilon all of the MULTIPLE songs she plagiarized and claims to have composed. "For a peasant like him to cross international borders...." Uh, dude, he's the son of a BARON. He's nobility, and by definition, not a "peasant". Yes, he is the second child, but he is still from a wealthy family and he and Claire apparently travel at least semi-frequently. And while he isn't rich compared to his friends in Shadow Garden or upper nobility like a Duke, he is by no means poor. EDIT TO ADD: Gamma took vague things Cid mentioned and made new items and fashion designs that were both based on real world stuff but also original to her. Beta took the fairy tales and other stories Cid told her and basically made knockoff versions that she wrote. Not really original, but probably not *quite* plagiarized enough to lose a copyright lawsuit if it was the real world. But Epsilon took pieces from multiple composers that Cid taught her and copied them note for note and claimed them as her own. Of the three she is the most brazen thief, but she could not have done that without Cid directly teaching them to her. We all love to make fun of Cid, but the truth is, he isn't an idiot, he just doesn't realize that his "lies" are real. He's crazy, not stupid.
Though could be mentioned in the next episode I am surprised they didn't show solider Kevin that rags on Cid is summarily fired. Maid Margert does throw Kevin under the bus when given the opportunity Cid provided . Though she probably still would have done so because Kevin's gawking at Margert made her uncomfortable, the light novel did make it apparent that Kevin had gotten on Margert's shit list for the harassment he gave to Cid, in part because it seems like as far as Margert was concerned Kevin's interference was responsible for failing to rope Cid into her plans.
Missed your live stream, but yeah, the description of the guard with the glasses somehow reminded me of Shinpachi from Gintama. Don't know why 🤔 You nailed it with the useless goddess face!

Great content as always, just a correction, Cid knows many piano piece, He studied before in earth, right? I can;t remember what ep or what chapter but shiron mentioned that He taught him other piece.
I think the translation of his dialogue of saying she wanted to make him religion kinda makes sense because you always give your trusts to God before praying or you just share your wishes and struggles to God before praying so it made sense to me after I watched this video but definitely didn't caught this in first try watching the episode...
i cannot wait for the next episode of eminence in shadow i got into it because of your recommendation and ive watched it 4 times now but my attention span is no good for reading the manga these videos are amazing
I would really love it if you covered Goblin Slayer and Frieren a bit more, they are both great too and I would love to see what we are missing in context.
I really like his interaction with Rose and would love it if she won with the only problem being Rose never actually sees Cid as Cid she's seeing him as the mc of a normal Isekai so I'm still in the Alexia camp at least she likes Cid for being Cid
Shadow Garden is definitely my favorite thing airing this season. It's so hard to choose rn though, since there's loads of good ones.. Some of them are receiving terrible animation though... actual tragedy.
it seems to me that more and more pressure is being put on studios to produce large quantity of shows as quickly as possible. we'll still watch something thats lower quality as long as we get a lot of it. on the upside we get more story and more things happen, on the downside the quality drops quite significantly. One more thing is that many shows don't have a mega company backing them and giving all the funding they could possibly imagine, but are instead small and incapable of the quality large stuidios produce. For example, Nexus studio has produced wakabe girl, chivalry of a failed knight, comic girls, granbelm, darwin's game, and the eminence in shadow compared to mappa who has produced nearly 50 anime that includes attack on titan, hells paradise, jujutsu kaisen, kakeguri and vinland saga. although I love the emince in shadow, it won't be nearly as high quality as any of the other shows bigger and better studios produce.
I like how casual they added someone with the number of a 35 billion dollar company before 712 one of the most awaited character to join the shadow garden
going at the speed of sound is nothing compared to teleporting/going at the speed of light, as you can visually see an object moving at mach 1 with the naked eye, if only for a brief moment
Complete nonsense, Moonlight Sonata is not the ONLY song he can perform. Another point is that this is the only song he can play at such a high level... Sid dedicated himself to the piano for several years, even mentioning how it complemented his NPS image at school.
yeah, every.. i mean EVERY skill that he learn on the earth is usually at pro level since that was his vision of eminence of shadow, the dude in the dark that soo perfect at doing anything . Hence why he learn all sort of skills
A man that totally master electricity, electronics, mechanics, classical music, even construction materials in the total age of 24-ish without graduating High School yet? Yup, I would he shocked as well and I ain't a medieval fantasy princess.
Mr Anime News, how you ever thought about making another Isekai deskmat that includes other isekais thay you feature on your channel? Like I ordered and love my Armory deskmat, but for like animes with fewer Weapons like Eminence in Shadow or TenSura, they kinda feel left out. So I was thinking how about like a them all sitting around a large Round Table Style of all the Features protagonists, with various elements or allies/subordinates from their respective shows behind them or in their shadow or something to that effect. Fore example, -Subaru with the 7 witches -Cid and the 7 Shadows -Ainz with the Floor Guardians, -Rimiru with Veldora, Ramiris Milim, Benimaru, Shion, Shuna, etc. I just think having a way to include some of the other shows that you cover would be cool even if they dont use weapons that often. Anyways keep up the great work, I look forward to your videos every week. ❤
I know nothing of the manga or web novel. My only hope is that cid finds somebody he can truly share his dream with. Rose seems like that kind of person, it is funny that they are not actually on the same page at all, but it can become tiring.
Important: misunderstandings are fun ONLY FOR A WHILE. All view'ers now only cringe when they use unwelcome misunderstandings (because it has been used to much by now).
As much as I'd like to see some of this stuff like how he kills the goons, I feel the episodes don't have enough time to show it without cutting something else.
Probably the same reason why one version of HxH has Killua's ripped-out heart in a bag: It was deemed too on-the-nose violent for the target audience. Maybe if the anime wasn't conspicuously a comedy at least as much as it is shonen?
Kevin the unlucky guard - got suspended for stealing food right after he saw his crush be all close and personal with some random dude whose future is much brighter than his own. Did he really deserve it? What had become of him? We will never know.
What i really dont like with this season - is how it turnes upside down many magical theories. In season 1 Aurora had purple magic color. Just like Cid. When Cid entered the door and freed Aurora, she said to him that magic is blocked. And raised her hands, manifesting purple fire, that dissipated. In season 2 Aurora repeated I Am Atomic, but her magic color there was red. But ok, you may say she was in Claire's body. And Claire's boosted magic could be on par with Iris and have similar red color. But Rose ultimately fcks up everything. In season 1 she had yellow magic color. After Cid cured her possession - she had light blue. In season 2 she again has yellow magic color. Seemingly for no reason or with no explanation.
Fun fact Victoria is actually a former Templar Priestess, who was called the saint but saved by Zeta and given salvation by Cid and now idolises him because could do what the God she worshipped could not. I am gutted the animation did not emphasize the Victoria 3 day battle vs 101 Cult 1st children members.. it's so unfortunate.
During the Mecha Japan ad there was a play mat or possible a mousepad in the background featuring several weapons/items from various Isekai and I was wondering if any one knows what that is and where I can get it?
idk about cid not knowing other songs, he said he was taught piano in the real world and his parents made him do it, i doubt he knew only one composition and moonlight sonata isn't easy to play anyway, cid is actually quite a skilled pianist in the anime
No no no, you don't understand, he doesn't live in delusions. Reality _is_ a delusion. After all, he views life as a theater, using terms from various fields such as videogames, anime, and filming, to construct his grand theory of the spectacle that is life. And he is 100% correct, because the theater was created as a means to reflect, symbolize, and project life onto a fake material form. He isn't delusional, he is simply true to life's essence. If anything, figuring out the truth would make him 3 times as more hyped, serious, effortful, and genuine. This is the guy who became an infamous urban legend that wiped out criminal syndicates on earth we're talking about, after all. And he did it all _SOLO._ Don't underestimate how much different the guy is built.
Why is the 3 day talk is always a reference to legend of zelda majoras mask. In the game you have 3 days and 3 nights to save the town. Victoria (559) fought the cult for 3 days In naruto shippuden, the 3rd Raikage fought 10k enemies for 3 days and 3 nights In Inuyasha, it took 3 days for his sword to be fixed after being bitten in half

i did not know that new episodes were coming out
gogo has changed the picture for the anime so i didn t recognized it
I would really love it if you covered Goblin Slayer and Frieren a bit more, they are both great too and I would love to see what we are missing in context.
The cookies were an incredible addition. I laughed my ass off, it's so simple but so good. This show has no right to be as good as it is haha
19:28 powerful duo yes
1:08 who's that?
Great video as always
I really like his interaction with Rose and would love it if she won with the only problem being Rose never actually sees Cid as Cid she's seeing him as the mc of a normal Isekai so I'm still in the Alexia camp at least she likes Cid for being Cid
I realy like the piano scene where cid play the moonlight sonata in the anime
No, cid knew a lot of piece on piano and teach all that to epsilon
8:40 you called ainz fatality
I call it Kano's fatality " You !@#$% beauty"
1:08 Who's that?
Great video as always.
I like how casual they added someone with the number of a 35 billion dollar company before 712 one of the most awaited character to join the shadow garden
You forgot the ring moment , when cid accedentaly left the ring in tha piano
6:00 i did know beta was in the sanctuary and made a blake
16:15 i did this to my Bullies, and they actually just did what kevin did, i can't believe this actually work
Pretty sure he know more then just one song seeing that he was forced to play back in Japan
going at the speed of sound is nothing compared to teleporting/going at the speed of light, as you can visually see an object moving at mach 1 with the naked eye, if only for a brief moment
@@nanotsukiexactly. Cid doesn't half ass his training. If he does something he does it to perfect it
A man that totally master electricity, electronics, mechanics, classical music, even construction materials in the total age of 24-ish without graduating High School yet? Yup, I would he shocked as well and I ain't a medieval fantasy princess.
6:03 Delta goes ham 😂
Mr Anime News, how you ever thought about making another Isekai deskmat that includes other isekais thay you feature on your channel? Like I ordered and love my Armory deskmat, but for like animes with fewer Weapons like Eminence in Shadow or TenSura, they kinda feel left out. So I was thinking how about like a them all sitting around a large Round Table Style of all the Features protagonists, with various elements or allies/subordinates from their respective shows behind them or in their shadow or something to that effect.
Fore example,
-Subaru with the 7 witches
-Cid and the 7 Shadows
-Ainz with the Floor Guardians, -Rimiru with Veldora, Ramiris Milim, Benimaru, Shion, Shuna, etc.
I think the biggest loss here was the changes made to 664/665/666's fight with the cult.
Important: misunderstandings are fun ONLY FOR A WHILE. All view'ers now only cringe when they use unwelcome misunderstandings (because it has been used to much by now).
Can you do a cut content on where they talked about Cid being recruited by the army and going to jail XD
18:19 if only the anime included this too
I love that they casualty put in web novel events 😂 like cid getting into prison and the black rose created by cid
I swear The Eminence of Shadow is not missing, I hope this continues
The rising of the shield hero season three
As much as I'd like to see some of this stuff like how he kills the goons, I feel the episodes don't have enough time to show it without cutting something else.
They did kevin so dirty in the anime😂😂😂😂😂😂
You always make me happier with your videos man! These days have been slow🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
I wish Cid would have character developement and not same all over again every episode but side characters help a ton
Lol, I actually didn't realise that Cid still hasn't figured out that the cult is real o0
Probably the same reason why one version of HxH has Killua's ripped-out heart in a bag: It was deemed too on-the-nose violent for the target audience. Maybe if the anime wasn't conspicuously a comedy at least as much as it is shonen?
Thanks 👍
Cid solving issues without even realizing he is doing it. 😂
Kevin the unlucky guard - got suspended for stealing food right after he saw his crush be all close and personal with some random dude whose future is much brighter than his own. Did he really deserve it? What had become of him? We will never know.
Thanks
Is it just me or is there a audio error at 14:01
They probably didn't include the heart ripping because it makes him out as even more of a psycho instead of a lovable idiot.
Oh great. Now I'm wanting a cookie.
You misspoke slightly when referencing the fight in Sanctuary. you called Delta, Beta instead.
How on earth is he still unaware that the cult exists lol. Dude literally had several run-ins with them face to face xD
Is that a mouse pad under those cards you showed?
Fun fact Victoria is actually a former Templar Priestess, who was called the saint but saved by Zeta and given salvation by Cid and now idolises him because could do what the God she worshipped could not. I am gutted the animation did not emphasize the Victoria 3 day battle vs 101 Cult 1st children members.. it's so unfortunate.
During the Mecha Japan ad there was a play mat or possible a mousepad in the background featuring several weapons/items from various Isekai and I was wondering if any one knows what that is and where I can get it?
That's from his shop. He brings it up in other videos.
I was going to skip the sponsor, but then I saw Rem. Well played...
idk about cid not knowing other songs, he said he was taught piano in the real world and his parents made him do it, i doubt he knew only one composition and moonlight sonata isn't easy to play anyway, cid is actually quite a skilled pianist in the anime
dude Cid is noble child
Whoever reincarnated cid in the eminence in shadow world intentionally was feeding into his dilusions.
Perv Asshat dared to lay his hand on Rose and make her submit. That instantly put him on my most hated anime characters list.
Women approach man's heart through his stomach.
Cid approach's men's hearth through their ribcage.
Can u explaind the power system in eminence in shadow?????
Why is the 3 day talk is always a reference to legend of zelda majoras mask. In the game you have 3 days and 3 nights to save the town.
Victoria (559) fought the cult for 3 days
In naruto shippuden, the 3rd Raikage fought 10k enemies for 3 days and 3 nights
In Inuyasha, it took 3 days for his sword to be fixed after being bitten in half
