I use the "talk to text"I feature and that makes it much easier for me to blather on 😊. know this will be a bit of late notice, especially since this video is 1 year old, but I have not heard Bill Sing & Play so I was thinking that maybe in the future when you all do videos where you won't be speaking the entire time, you could use Bill's music as the Muzak. Just a thought.... I hope your families & grandchildren are very proud of you for being pioneers with regard to a lifestyle that is possibly going to be the wave of the future for many retirees. I currently live in a 55+ mobile home community that is beautiful and some of the homes in my community are well worth a couple hundred thousand but the lot rent alone is $825 so I have decided to go with tiny living! I have been contemplating this since 2015 when I had to take medical retirement because of both of my knees being completely blown out! I am in a wheelchair most of the time and obviously unable to continue working. It's very difficult going from $4k or $6,000 a month down to Disability but the cargo conversion seems to be the most wise financial decision at the moment. I lived in a very nice posh RV resort for one year in a 38 ft fifth wheel with three slides but the fifth wheel needed a ton of work basically needed to be rebuilt so we sold it for next to nothing and moved to the very posh 55 plus community and now this mobile home also needs tons of work on top of 825 for lot rent! I'm looking at an E250 Ford van that has a wheelchair lift and obviously planning to purchase a trailer to turn into a tiny home much like my favorite TH-camrs "Bill and Deb". Since I live in Florida and Florida has always been the winter hotspot for camping and other such outdoor activities, I'm sure we will cross paths sometime in the future and I'm looking forward to it! Thanks again for sharing all of the detailed information regarding your build because I am not a man therefore it's going to be a bit challenging but I'm sure I can round up some church family to help me when the time comes. The shower sump pump is also a fantastic idea. Your kitchen is definitely my all-time favorite kitchen! Also, I wanted to mention that Deb could sell her artwork on "Poshmark"! They have everything from clothing to household items and the percentage that Poshmark takes is very reasonable especially since the reach will be worldwide. You could Google "Poshmark". It's a very simple super easy "app" for your phone, tablet, Laptop, etc. Also, if Deb wanted to sell some crochet "coasters" like for drinks, she could sell those on Poshmark as a set of four. Ikea is very popular for their four-piece crocheted cup coasters but Deb's being homemade and american-made, just might give Ikea a run for their money and I'm sure you all could use a few extra bucks! ( We all could 😊). If you need shipping bags for your coaster sets for mailing around the world, you may want to check "Grainger". They have some of the best pricing for tear-resistant plastic shipping bags, I purchased a box of 100count for $50. You may be pleasantly surprised at the income you could make on Poshmark just with Deb's paintings and crochet. If Deb can crochet beanies, that would probably also be a hot selling item on Poshmark especially for the millennials. Hope I'm not boring you all with my rambling comments and I'm sure you can tell I have a lot of time on my hands 😃. Wishing you all the best! @@billanddeb I was just messing with you about the shirt thing... you wouldn't want to see the clothes I wear for doing work around the house... blue jeans with holes torn all over and shirts I've had for 10 years that are stained up... can't wait to see more progress on the new portable home... I know that materials are expensive and hard to find have you tried finding a local sawmill??? We've got one outside of our little town and the quality is top notch and they will cut whatever you want from whatever type of wood you want for the same price as what the big stores are charging now

Ima give ya my 2 cents once again and then I'll let it be.Maybe ya missed my comment before but those lil blue quick connects on the trailer wiring are going to become a nightmare.I deleted mine and soldered then heat shrinked the connections.Ive had those fail before.I can't remember what the proper name for what occurs is but the blue connector is an aluminum blade thing that pierces the wires and the wires are copper and the different metals will corrode over time leading to a short.Not trying to tell ya your business just sharing info.Looking good guys!
@@billanddeb oki doki but the trailer i have the wires were pulled( from the factory) with little to no play in them.This will become difficult as well to fix inside a confined area(such as a hatch).I wanted mine bomb proof but to each his own...Happy camping
@@chrislewis9345 there's actually quite a bit of "play" at the connection in this trailer as opposed to the red one. I do plan to give the wiring some attention before we get too far however.
@@billanddeb I'd be tempted to just throw some polyurethane on the ceiling and do the white/red theme throughout the rest of the trailer, but that's just me. I love the appearance of wood, but I think white will also look great, be easy to clean, and provide a nice spacious feel. Very nice!!!
Another question, sir. I believe you are using 1x3 furring strips, correct? Do you use a 2x3 on the walls that will wall mount anything (i.e. cabinets or television)
Yes. We positioned the 1×3 furring strips to line up with cabinets and upper shelves. A 1×3 is 3/4 inch thick. We used a piece of 3/4 inch plywood around 18×32 inches in place of furring strips where the TV goes to allow for positioning.
Just came across your channel and have watched some of your vids...I am curious to know if your tongue and groove ceiling has stayed in place?...any shifting or movement from the flex of the trailer???
We first laid up 1 inch thick foam board insulation between the roof bows, then we screwed 1×3s to the roof bows with self tapping screws. Then, we glued 3/4 inch foam board insulation to the 1 inch foam board insulation so the 3/4 inch foam board came out flush with the 1×3 crossmembers. Then we shot and glued the pine planks to the crossmembers, using 3/4 inch brads and tight bond wood glue. The ceiling has been up now for 1 1/2 years with absolutely zero issues.
@@billanddeb I cannot thank you enough for this explanation. I'm in the process of putting my ceiling in. All the side walks and insulation is done and the electrical is in. I could not find a couch that was the size I needed so I built my own. I'm currently putting the upholstery on it. I have no help so I'm doing it all myself. I had to stop working on it for about 6 months but now I'm back in full DIY mode. It's so satisfying. You 2 have been a great source of information during my entire build. I hope someday to be at a rendezvous. I never thought about leveling the trailer to put the ceiling in. Thanks for that tip. Happy day. I'm not camping, I'm living, also. 😉❤
My bad. My ceiling bows are actually on 24 inch center. The material I used weighs around 10 pounds per 14 square feet. The entire ceiling weighs less than 140 pounds. That's less than 1 pound per square foot.

Yes I read your comment in a previous video. We're planning on having access panels to allow us to get to the trailer wiring if need be.

This is our 2nd trailer with the same ceiling and zero issues.
