    I have seen so many of these builds and they all look fantastic. Is there a reason most people use 7' wide trailers and not 8' or 8.5'? It seems to me you would have so much more room in a wider trailer.

    • @davej7434
      @davej7434 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Intrested to know myself, I have a 7' wide, would like to do a 7.5' or 8' myself on the next one.

    • @billanddeb
      @billanddeb  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Many do a 7 wide because it's easier to see down the side with your side mirrors while towing. Later model trucks have adjustable side mirrors that can be extended for a better view. In the case of our van though, the only thing available was mirror extensions that fit over our standard mirrors. They do work, but the magnification is different. Takes a bit of getting used too. That being said,,,,,in our case, we are very happy we went with the 8 1/2 wide the 2nd time around, and I feel comfortable towing it now after a bit of getting used too.

    The wood craftmanship is stunningly beautiful! I don't know if I missed it, but I wish they would have brought attention to the front of the trailer at the hitch. It is at an angle. Brilliant wind deflection! I've never seen that except on my Emotion Edge Kayak, it glides through windy waves like a boat. Everything seems covered and secure. Amazing set-up, especially the grandkids, twins bedding!

    I would love this build with a hydraulic bed. Underneath, I would have a seating area with one of those moving tables that would convert into a 2nd bed. So, when the main bed is up, you have a sitting area, but you can also lower the bed so it's low enough to get into, and just high enough to still have the guest bed made up underneath.

    What a wonderful build.
    I only wish I could do the same, skill wise. But even if I had the ability, they added 3600lbs to the trailer, which I do not want to do.

      Mini split , spare tire, interior walls , corner support jacks, refrigerator, etc. have weight to them. These are items we did without on the last two builds. The double axle, the solar, and solar equipment all add up to weigh whatever they weigh. We had 6 weeks of food, clothing, extra water (24 gallons ) etc. Propane tank, 6 chairs etc. Could we drop 600 #'s? most likely yes. Good luck with your build.

      @"I Ride" Tiny House Adventures Clarence is very important.
      The 0° I believe gets you four inches and 5-degree down will give you 8in.

    great great idea. What if the sink was on the right side and the left side is the flat side

      the sink on the right would not allow us to slide out the Keurig from the right side nook. Centered the sink allow for us to stand in the middle with elbow room.

    Awesome. Where did he get the mattress pads for the bunk?

      Mattress insider, Colorado I do believe. Custom cut to length and width. The upper bunk is 52" wide while our queen below is 60". The bunk was not shown in the video as we were on the trip without grandkids.

      We have finally been able to pull it out of storage. It is a Classic Solera by Lippert components.

    Is there a video showing how you framed it out and insulated it with the 1x4s?

    • @joehemmerich3840
      @joehemmerich3840 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      5 pine 1x4's run horizontally all around the interior walls. Before these are screwed into the studs, we cut carefully 1" foil faced styrofoam or blue styrofoam between the studs. Start at the floor w/1x4 all around, then rip 3/4" styrofoam foil faced 15.5" wide. Push this hard against the 1x4 you just put in and push next 1x4 against it, continue until you are 1.5" to the ceiling. That is where we ran the electrical. Wherever you want a heavy item on the outside, screw on inside 3/4" plywood. (Ladder; Mini split; spare tire, electrical; water; etc.) Cut the styrofoam with a utility knife for electrical runs, use the 1x4's for mounting electrical boxes. Trailer will be for sale after Oct 15 2024. I have 600 hours in it. Have Fun!
