After E5, I’m still beating the Kyle/Barbara-did-it-drumbeat from my previous inputs. So now Tommy’s head might explode after reviewing Micheal’s pix and catching the image of a bike rider at the scene. Tommy jots down “Bike” on his legal pad sniffing an accomplice but must turn over exculpatory evidence. If Rusty/Raymond/Maya find Carolyn’s DNA from the bike, Raymond’s head will un-explode. Rusty’s oh-shit epiphany following Tommy’s emotional jury opener has him squarely inside the teeth of a moral dilemma. His salvation might be inside the trunk of his car but that would require losing his family. Best result for Rusty is he could fall on his sword, cop a plea and redeem himself for his infidelity and causing this whole mess in the first place. Tommy gets girls & respect; Delay gets his “delicious” scenario and conviction; Barbara gets Clifton, Jaden gets her loving brother; Kyle gets a new bike and continues to work on his curveball. Only loser is the psychoanalyst since she loses four clients.
The fall of a respected prosecutor whom, in my theory, did not commit murder or manslaughter is in a seriously big mess. Rusty has yet to suspect Kyle/Barbara. I don’t believe the killing is a copycat or statement murder. Carolyn’s death, as gruesome and terrible as it is, is accidental but brutally staged to protect Rusty.
I also think Tommy constantly saying “faithful” to the facts etc. then establishing Rusty as unfaithful to his wife therefore not trustworthy, shows he’s deceitful and the murderer
Couple things: Another scary Raymond dream that is supposed to point to Rusty but could be Raymond’s own guilt. Or just he made both dreams up to tell his wife. Why? Because he needs her to think he has a moral dilemma while still representing Rusty (which he needed to do in order to frame him). Tommy clearly seems unhinged but it’s too obvious and too early IMO. Last alternate theory: Rusty 2 kids did it/were in on with Carolyn’s kid because they knew and resented the affair. We would love to see y’all discuss diff theories tho. Love the show!
My guess is Eugenia. Why is she afraid/angry to testify? She could easily just tell the truth & she would have nothing to worry about. She had a thing for Rusty. (may have had a relationship or not) and killed Carolyn after she knew she was going to have his child. Carolyn confided in Eugenia some, not knowing Eugenia loved him. Tommy being insecure picked up on the fact that many women liked him.
Good slow episode with the build ups. I still think either the wife or Tommy did it. The ending was great because I think Rusty finally knew he may not win after Tommy opening statement
9:15 - I’m actually leaning toward it being the Della Guardia guy and he’s set up Tommy because he knows that no one really likes Tommy. I think Tommy will go down for it, but Della Guardia is the guy. 🤷♀️ 13:06 - this scene actually, writing wise, seems to point toward “Delay” as well. *** Also the bike thing and all the family “hints”, seem to be a red herring for the viewers IMO ***
Like I said I still think it’s Tommy or the wife. The wife protecting her son and cleaning the bike last episode and the bike is thrown out. Rusty keeping it knowing dna might be on it. The wife could have set her husband up seeking revenge and that’s why she’s stressing. Tommy also secretly loving Caroline, he choked up during trial
@@eaglesfan4life996good point. Could have come home, said he saw what he saw and wife had enough. It’s almost like saying to her murder is lesser evil than just sleeping with someone else..? Hmm
Tommy is way too obvious. The writers are clearly pointing you in his direction as a misdirection. I think it's Raymond and his dreams scream guilty conscience. He was the one who called Rusty to inform him of the murder, he was already on the scene, he was doing yard work in the rain the next day (maybe washing off DNA?), he was aware of their case and how the victim was tied up so he had knowledge to copy it. For motive, his top two Prosecutors were too preoccupied to properly assist with his re-election, they were having an affair in which he heavily disapproves, the mistress concealed evidence which is a bad look for him, his office and his election chances. Raymond had motive, knowledge and opportunity.
the way rusty says "Barbara KNOWS I didn't Do it!" is this because she knows who did? their son? look at how Barbara looks at their son when confronted with the bike in the trash. And they WILL put her on the stand, and they will expect her to testify that Rusy didn't do it, and that she has no doubt that he is innocent. instead, she will, in a very calculated fashion, make Rusty look guilty, and that's just a guess. I have never seen the movie or read the book. Two cents. thanks, ya'll. Sam
I have been saying it the daughter since the second episode. It just gives off an off vibe. Like she knows the truth, she is the one that actually did it. But what is more shocking, that her dad continues to "lie", it like confusing her.
Eugenia is the killer.... she did it all for Rusty , who she clearly has feelings for. Asil she would have knowledge of the old case which explains the murder scene
I’m still going with Delay for my #1 suspect. Hear me out - he’s JUST close enough to all the Tommy/Rusty drama for it to make sense that it was his idea, but far enough away that he’d have Tommy do his dirty work. The fact that Tommy gets mad at him for looking over his shoulder all the time (plus the conversation about loyalty) makes me think Delay had Tommy carry out the murder so the two of them could rise in their respective careers, with Tommy as Delay’s right hand dude. Also, Tommy is looking increasingly like a very impressionable dude with a not-great reputation. If he wants his career to move, it can only really happen with Delay calling the shots. BTW, no pressure or anything, but I would ROCK the Screen Invaders shirt. 😬
I think you're right: Having Delay come up with the idea & Tommy carry it out does a lot in terms of a twist! They're both annoying and both in our protagonists' (Raymond+Rusty) way, politically. If we learn they're both guilty it would be a pretty strong moment for the audience.
Been looking forward to this video, things out of whack this week. Great review and breakdown as always. Really love the format. I’m still thinking Tommy did it but now I’m starting to think the killer actually is Rusty. He just doesn’t have the demeanor of a lawyer. Yes he has the knowledge but his personality is completely different from any lawyer I’ve ever known or seen in movies/tv, etc… nevertheless thinking he had all the information about the Bunny David scene at his disposal to make it seem that someone else did it but just not sure why he would make it so complicated and loosely connected. IDK, that’s what makes this show a good one.
I do go back and forth that it is actually Rusty. However, they really are emphasizing that the kids hear everything that goes on in this house. The son heard them fight about the affair, and the daughters hearing the argument with her brother. It’s almost like they haven’t been shielded from any info in the cases he’s prosecuted as well. So basically to say only him and Carolyn know the details of that other murder probably isn’t true. They say it’s similar but not identical to how the first murder happened. So I think the whole house are suspects.
Tommy sees himself as Carolyn’s avenging angle pointing his sword at Rusty in front of the jury. Easy to throw shade on him but he’s worked hard to build his case in super crunch time. Problem he he’s going to have is the bike!!!
From the beginning, I’ve had 3 people that are the highest on my suspect list. The same 3 people are still on my sus list (which I feel rarely happens for me lol), but now they are just more evened out so I don’t have one that I’m leaning towards the most. My top 3 suspects are Rusty, his wife and Tommy.
I have to say, I am just not liking this show. I think the show is good. I am just physically disliking it because there is no one in the show that is likeable. I feel like every episode, people do things that make them genuinely just nasty people. I really would be ok if Rusty went to jail. I don't even care if he is innocent or not.

“Causing this whole mess”??? Nothing justifies talking another’s life, especially an innocent life. Barbra did it, and I would absolutely expose her.

Awesome theory! I think it's Tommy too ✅
Let's hear those theories!!! One of you will win the shirt. Good Luck!!!
In these type of shows/movies, the killer usually shows up in the beginning/episode one. My theory is that the wife did it or the daughter.
I was thinking the son. He knew about the affair and could have known about the killer who was convicted and how the victim was tied up.

I do not think it’s the wife or the son. I think it’s either Tommi or that female attorney that Tommi was saying had a crush on rusty.
Ohhh Eugenia, that would be quite shocking

The son could have confessed to his mom and the wife is mad about the affair and just allowing Rusty to be on trial.

What if Rusty actually did it… but will get away with it because Tommy is progressively losing it

What if Raymond's wife helped rusty's wife with the murder. Very far fetched if I say so myself lol
