Often, a theater will run a classic movie series with "Alien" & "Aliens" as a double-feature. To all movie fans, be sure to jump at the chance. Both movies are incredible on the big screen.
Hicks is played by Michael Biehn who plays Kyle Reece in the first Terminator movie. Bill Paxton is one of my favorite actors, he's the character in this movie who was the unwilling participant in the hand knife game with Bishop.
Hicks was actually played by another actor, originally. That actor was caught doing drugs on the set, so they had to fire him. Cameron had worked with Biehn in Terminator, as you said, so he called to bring him in as a replacement. There are one or two group action scenes where you might see a marine you don't recognize from the group. That was the original Hicks. They couldn't afford to re-shoot the scenes, so he was left in.

13:00 she was in TITANIC. She was the woman with kids and telling them they will be next after the first class passengers were on the boats, and the little, girl smiled and shook her head.
Jenette Goldstein(Vasquez) is in "Terminator2" and "Near Dark," also. "Near Dark" also has Lance Henricksen(Bishop) and Bill Paxton(Hudson). Michael Biehn(Hicks), Lance Henricksen(Bishop), and Bill Paxton(Hudson) are all in "The Terminator."
Man, I really love seeing people have such a good time discovering these two films for their first time! It brings all the excitement right back to me, having enjoyed them all through the years. Thanks for sharing these, and I hope you continue to have fun discovering new stuff together! Sidenote: I _really_ love that we got two outstanding characters and honestly, role models of character in Ripley and Hicks. She's as tender with Newt as she is a leader with personal initiative with or without the troops. And Hicks is the same! Strong in the face of crisis, while mindful and attentive in the quiet moments as well. Ripley was always capable and competent, and Hicks always backed that up, never once got in the way of it. MAJOR shoutout to the writing and direction for setting the framework for that, and especially to Sigourney Weaver for being one of the legendary leads of the era, and major shoutout to Michael Beihn for bringing those aforementioned qualities to the table both in "Hicks", and in "Kyle Reese" in Terminator. Dude is proper ride or die for the leading women.
The first Alien is one of the greatest horror movies ever made. Aliens is an action/thriller. They're different types of movies and equally great in different ways. I will always love the first Alien because it's a beautiful piece of Art.
I always loved how they showed the space age and the self conscious computer in Alien with monochrome monitors running on probably 32 - 128 kB of RAM.. :D That movie was made 45 years ago and already 10 years passed since the Moonlanding. How different these movies would have been if they were made today... Probably a lot worse.
The thing to remember is that each Alien film is a genre view of the original Dan O'Bannon idea. The first is horror, the second action, etc. Hence there is no "bad" Alien movie, just a different view.
@@moog67 It was an extremely high bar to clear. Like Terminator 2, Empire Strikes Back, The Lord on the Rigns Trilogy... How do you follow that up? They're genre defining movies that we still love literally 4+ decades later.
Definitely bookmarking and subscribing. Just a bit of trivia for you, in one of the deleted scenes, just before Ripley finds the locator she gave to Newt, Ripley comes across Burke who is cocooned and he has an alien inside him. Burke begs Ripley to help him but instead, she says nothing and shows mercy... by giving him a grenade to use on himself.
The thing about the Xenomorph in Alien was that the crew did not dare try to kill it by shooting it, cuting off a limb or stabbing as it has acid for blood (proven when they attempted to cut The Facehugger's limbs, it bled acid which were corrossive enough to eat through three levels in the space ship). If they did try to kill it in anyway that it'd lose blood, the acid could have made holes that'd suck the air out of the Nostromo and therefore die from suffocation, that's why guns and sharp weapons were out of the question.
Its very hard to produce a sequel as well as the first, highly successful film, BUT they sure pulled it off here. Other great sequels are T2, Deadpool,Avengers,Jack Reacher, wrath of khan, top gun maverick, winter soldier, devil’s rejects, the dark knight, and many more. 👍🏻
James Cameron’s best movie in my opinion and one of the best movies ever made. Saw it at the cinema back in 1986 and I envy anybody watching this for the first time.
You two really know how to pace a reaction. Ian's comments throughout so often mirrored MY thoughts WAY back when I saw it during it's theatrical release. And, I must say, I do believe this is the first time I have seen Steph make a snarly face. It was when Burke was shutting doors on everyone else to save himself. Great reaction!
I really get a kick out of people watching some of the movies I grew up watching as a teen such as The Godfather, Aliens, Star Wars, Jaws, Stephen King movies etc. Some of these movies were before we were able to record shows, before the internet(we had to buy a newspaper to know what movies were playing locally), before home computers etc and they were bangers. ;D There were some Phenomenal directors in the 70s and 80s.
Lance Henrikson (Bishop) "I didn't even cut a hole in [his finger] Bill Paxton (Hudson), and he was acting like I stabbed him with an ice pick! It was pretty funny actually. ... I felt bad about it ... but not really." Beyond providing a memorable moment, the knife trick scene acts as important character set-up early in Aliens.
I was too young to watch the first movie in the cinema (I was a kid), and back then it wasn't that easy to have a video where I lived. So I went to watch this one when I was sixteen or seventeen not knowing too much about what the story was about.... and OH MAN what an experience it was. It blew my mind. I've rewatched the movie dozens of times, and even if I know by heart what is gonna happen, my heart still pumps like crazy all the time.
40:00 We were all devastated when they got Hudson :( I always imagined him escaping capture somehow. Wishing that Ripley could have found him whilst searching for Newt, then they all could have escaped together.
I recommend the South Korean film "Train to Busan", regarded as one of the best zombie films; even skeptical zombie movie connoisseurs love it. It has multiple character development, social commentary, continuously suspenseful, and has an excellent performance by a child actor.
I saw ALIENS in 1986 in long gone Odeon in Warrington. It was an old theater with three tiers of balcony's that held a thousand people. Watching ALIENS with such a big audience was amazing. The cinema rumbled when the audience erupted in laughter and screams. It was an experience I'll never forget. You'll both love *ALIEN: ROMULOUS* too. *"Face Hugger's"* (spider aliens) galore in that one Liam 🤣 I met the sleeze ball bad guy Burke aka *PAUL REISER* in the early 1990's in a sandwhich deli in Liverpool of all places. He's a great guy, really friendly and down to earth.
Ah nice! In Liverpool of all places as well! What was he doing there!? (If you know?). Nice that he’s a good guy though! We watched Romulus yesterday! I wish they would stop putting those things in these movies!!! They are nightmare fuel! Hate them😂 something about them creeps me the hell out!
@@Reactsandgames I totally agree. ANYTHING that resembles a BIG SPIDER is never gonna sit well with me 🤣 Paul Reiser was making a film which I believe stars Julie Walters. Its called STRANGE RELATIONS in the USA and MY BEAUTIFUL SON in the UK. I've yet to see it though.
@Reactsandgames It was awesome. And neither of my grandmothers would have been caught dead watching an "Alien" movie. "The Sound of Music", on the other hand...
This movie influenced everything: Halo, Gears, WH40k, every military and sci-fi movie that came afterwards, Michael bay’s entire career.. Great reaction!
I love how the queen is always looking at the girl, snarling. The queen remembers seems to be aware or believes she's Ripley's child, and is trying to kill her because ripley killed her children, it's like the queen says, you killed my children, now I'm gonna kill yours, it was actually personal
I saw Aliens before Alien. I remember my mum said she watched Alien many years before the sequel and she loved that (we had similar tastes). I TOTALLY love Aliens and I still think it is the BEST of all the franchise to this day.
So when Ripley is on the elevator and the announcement is made that there are 15 minutes till detonation, that sequence was edited in real time so 15 minutes does actually go by.
Great reactions and expressions and insights from you both! And good to see you turned the lights down for Aliens. They're meant to be seen in the dark. Alien and Aliens are amazing, so I would caution you on watching any further. After this it is a very sharp drop in quality (and enjoyment!) if you go any further, if you haven't already. Maybe try a different series, perhaps the first couple of Terminator films if you want more James Cameron.
I heard the loader exoskeleton robotic suit was actually so dope and well done that several construction companies contacted the film studio asking where they can buy them. :D
Another great thing I love about reaction videos are the fan comments. I learn something new every time. This time it was that the actress for Vasquez also played the Stepmom of John Connor in Terminator II. I never made that connection. Her acting was so good, I didn’t recognize her.
Al Matthews, who played Gunnery Sergeant Apone the platoon sergeant was a real-life US Marine who served in Vietnam and was awarded The Purple Heart twice for being wounded in combat. Rest in peace. 🇺🇸 🥃 🕯️
I saw this July 1986 the night it was released at what used to be showcase cinemas in the States at only 5 years old.... And MAN THIS MOVIE WAS AWESOME!!!!!!
As for your question in the first movie regarding the sequels, here's a bit of information: - Alien - Aliens (sequel to Alien, often considered just as good/better as the original) - Alien 3 (sequel to Aliens, not so positively perceived, but it does a good job in wrapping up the trilogy) - Alien: Ressurrection (sequel to Alien 3, but more of a fanfiction movie than an alien movie. Still entertaining, but it feels like a different kind of movie than the first three) - Prometheus (prequel to Alien, delving more into the lore of the alien species) - Covenant (sequel to Prometheus) - Romulus (sequel to Covenant) The spider-things have been called "Facehuggers" by the way. They never call them that in the movies, but the fanbase does.
Romulus is a sequel to ALIEN. It’s less than 20 years after. It’s after ALIEN and before ALIENS. Ripley is in the movie. The shuttle is on the space station. You can see it in 2 scenes.
@@lustrazor44 How can Ripley be in a movie based 20 years after Alien when she's been floating around in space for 57 years when they find her in Aliens?
I just want to appreciate that you gave the objective list without all of the usual gatekeeping nerdlord attitude. Every single movie is a solid popcorn eater, and that's all we really need when we kick back on the couch, you know?
I see so many comments from those, who like me, saw movies like this in cinema. Those comments express the visceral excitement of a group experience. I own a huge collection of movies but watch reaction videos instead because part of the excitement is seeing other people experience these movies for the first time, which adds an element that is otherwise absent.
I'm glad you saw the Director's cut. The theatrical version cut the whole thing about Ripley's daughter and some other parts that just help round out the story a bit. This version helps reinforce Ripley and Newt's connection.
Carrie Henn (Newt), her father was stationed at Castle AFB (where I was also stationed) in Atwater California when this movie came out. She became quite a celebrity on base at the time.
Love the reactions. Just watched the one for Alien, then came straight to this one. In my book Ellen Ripley is not only the greatest female protagonist in film history, but arguably just the greatest protagonist period. I know a lot of people love Sarah Connor, and so do I, but Ripley is in a whole other class.
I believe when the actor playing Burke watched the film with his mother everyone including his mum stood up when he got nailed by the Xeno, what an honour.... This is my 2nd favourite sci fi film after Terminator 2, so good, so good....
I just realized watching your viewing of it, the aliens probably wouldn't have attacked again so quickly had Burke not set the facehuggers up to get Ripley and Newt. Playing Alien: Isolation, the big ones do not like having the face huggers flamed or killed.
Although it's an out and out actioner, the theme is motherhood. Ripley loses and gains a "daughter" and the Queen is protecting and then avenging her children. Great movie. Great reaction. More please.
No spoilers, but there are three actors in "Aliens" who were in "The Terminator" as both movies are directed by James Cameron. Two are fairly easy to spot but one is tricky because it is a great, well-known actor but in a cameo. See if you can get three out of three!!
Lance Henriksen, Michael Biehn, & Bill Paxton were all in The Terminator and Aliens. Aliens and Terminator 2- Jenette Goldstein, she was Vasquez in Aliens and John Conner's foster mum in T2 (also the Irish mum in Titanic btw) But is there really someone in all 3?
1:58 [16 weeks] eh yes and no. 3:42 Ah good the extended director's cut, good choice. 2:45 [16 weeks] mostly no. 3:48 none good. 5:05 yes yes we must find that your reckless, and we did no wrong so we can cover everything up. 5:53 60-70 x an avg of 4 = 240/280 people. 7:33 Yeah your right, I won't be going in with the troops, because I'm going to be right here, as in not there. Thanks for asking though. buh-bye. roll credits. 29:13 Deleted gun scene. All the scenes with the sentry guns were deleted from the theatrical version. then put back in for the director's cut. 33:16 there's a Deleted scene that didn't make it into any of the releases where Bishop gets to a small junction room and encounters an alien, It ignores Bishop because hes a robot and thus "not real". 38:15 No one ever said they weren't intelligent. Hive minded maybe, and cunning. 45:05 She wanted to know what was laying the eggs,... Wish granted. 50:03 Watch how strong this alien queen is, When it hits that massive blast door it causes the door to stop for a moment. 53:17 Well sort of yes, but all that is gone now. and it's not like you age. so whenever you get home you can start your life over and now Ripley gets to do so with a child again. All thanks to St. Burke. Time for Alien 3. (then trust me stop there)
One thing that’s always got me about this movie is the acid blood on Hicks’ armour in the elevator, didn’t the acid blood produce SO2 and SO3 gases in the elevator that’s deadly and would’ve eaten out the lungs of Ripley and Hicks?
Loved your reaction! Aliens has been my favorite movie since it was released and it’s always good to see it still being appreciated to this day. Keep up the great reactions!!
I was Active Duty, stationed at Camp Lejeune N.C. when this movie hit the theaters. As a 'WM' (Woman Marine), I and another Marine caught a Fri. night showing, and to say we were impressed is a *HUGE* understatement! Absolutely *THE BEST SEQUEL* of all time! Thanks for taking us along with you as you get to enjoy this!
What a lot of people don’t realise is that the Aliens in said films were NEVER the villains. The real villains/antagonists in the films were The Company
I'm just happy that there are only two Alien films in the franchise. Alien and Aliens. Nothing more. Same with Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day. ;)
@@ReactsandgamesAlien is Horror, Aliens is Action, Alien 3 is a strange thriller. It does have its moments, certainly -- but without going into spoilers, Alien 3 does away with pretty much anything the first two movies have established and what I and most likely you love about them so much. Proceed with caution... if at all. I rewatch 1 & 2 regularly every year or every other year. Haven't revisited the sequels in decades.
Also, glad you’ve watched both Alien movies now. Too bad there are no more movies in that franchise. 😜 Seriously, the rest are generally between meh (ok at best) and awful… I don’t recommend them, and I certainly wouldn’t watch them with high expectations… you should minimally wait awhile if you really feel compelled to watch any.
I’ll be honest I’ve heard bad things about them which has kind of put me off lol I do fancy Romulus as it’s between these 2 movies apparently? Interested to see how it connects because Ripley was asleep for 57 years😂
@@Reactsandgames I actually haven’t seen Romulus yet, so perhaps it’s good? 🤞. I haven’t gotten my hopes up in a while due to some of the other movies which I have seen, and that’s why I didn’t run out to see it. (Also not including the Alien vs Predator movies in this, which I feel are a largely different thing even if they are technically in the same canon.)
In my mid 20's I watched the Aliens movie when it first came out in theaters in 1986. It became my favorite action/sci-fi movies. Around 2 years later I had since moved to the Denver area where one of the things to do for an adrenaline rush was to enter abandoned nuclear missile sites that anyone in our community had found entrance to (Friends or acquaintances of outdoor party goers, bored energetic teenagers, etc.). One weekend we planned a pre-midnight gathering of friends to first watch Aliens and then enter a newly discovered tunnel entrance. Many of the tunnel sections are as they are in the movie, with grated walkways and ceilings, conduit, pipes and infinitely dark (No light whatsoever). It was crazy scary venturing down deep within the multiple leveled tunnel systems having watched this movie first...
First, I'm glad you showed the directors cut. Second, the chick who had the machine gun was a body builder in real life AND the seargent was an ex Green Baret.
You should know this movie was filmed and produced in Pinewood Studios , UK with a mostly British production crew but obviously the director James Cameron and main cast were mostly American. Ripley's cubicle she lives in after her arrival to Earth , was an abandoned airliner in Heathrow. The terraforming station structure was the location of an abandoned electrical power station in Birmingham , I think where most of the indoor filming was done. Director James Cameron who is a perfectionist , was very hard on production and filming crew as well as cast and directors during filming.
thank you so much for watching this! this is such an amazing film. just like Alien, it is timeless, perfectly done, a masterpiece! and.... i saw thi sin the theatre when it came out - we were repeating sooooo many lines for weeks. okay, years! in fact, if someone says "its the only way to be sure" i cannot help but think of Ripley! I also enjoy how everyone thinks Hudson is so annoying - but by the end we all love him - and i think the character's development is because of Ripley's perfect leadership. And Burke.... look up the trivia about that actor Paul Reiser, and what his mother thought of the film!
Thanks for watching! Someone commented about Burkes mother😂 that’s brilliant! lol some great one liners in this and it must have been epic in the cinemas in 1986!
Wise Choice with the Extended Edition 🫡 Fun Fact: Xenomorph encounter math is NOT a 1:1 ratio of Eggs/Facehuggers to Hosts/Drones. Each normal (Non Queen) Facehugger implants Multiple chestburster eggs that will usually cannibalize each other if not presenting in a host with sufficient body mass. You can actually reach a yeild of about 1 viable chestburster per 50kg of host biomass. (This is also why they ignore the cat Jones... Too Small) This means that you can get 2-3 (or more) chestbursters out of larger host creatures, even humans. This can result in exponentially larger Xenomorph outbreaks than a given infected population would presume, much to the chagrin of combat planners.
@@Reactsandgames And now you also know the theatrical cut freaks are wrong. Were you bored at any point? Did you feel the "pace" was too slow? Did you feel the "mystery" was ruined at any point? Of course not. Those "arguments" are completely bogus.
@@miller-joel The pacing and "mystery" is better in the theatrical cut. Saying it was ruining is how you perceive "us" saying it, rather than how it is actually communicated. Both editions are great, one is just better for first time viewers. Get the arguments straight before talking trash :) Cheers!
Great reaction! The loader Ripley fought the Queen Alien with was made by Caterpillar. You can see their "C" logo on its leg and it's painted with the companies classic yellow. James Cameron was a truck driver before becoming a director and fan of Caterpillar.
They are strictly props. Just because they are *called* Caterpillar P-5000 doesn't mean they are *made* by Caterpillar™(NYSE:CAT). Fictional implied to be created by, but not *made* by Many companies in fact thought they were real/prototypes/early access and tried to call production to get their own; they had to be told they weren't real.
@ChibiHoshiDragon I know they were props, they had a guy inside of them moving it around. If you look at the Cat logo from 1986 it's exactly the same and it's the Cat yellow. I should have stated they were props, I didn't intend to come off as these loaders being the real deal.
@@MrLivewire1970 Given that there were several who did think it was a real thing back then, and your usage of the word "made"/past tense about a futuristic item without any made in-universe by or tongue-in-cheek comment about " apparently Caterpillar will still exist in the future" and will make.., I thought you were one of them.
I really enjoy you two. You're awesome and seem like good good people. Don't ever change. Keep on reacting! S/N : You all should watch the movie 'Cujo' if you haven't already! A true horror classic!
It's great that you watched the Director's Cut. With Cameron, it's always the better version because the additional runtime is always important in his films. At the end, as they were leaving, the queen got caught on one leg of the landing gear, so they brought her with them. And I have to say, you are great as reactors, it's fun to watch you. Your reactions are natural, it's entertaining.
😂 Part II when I saw this in the theater and the facehugger hit the glass at Burke, I was towards the back and all the heads of the audience came back like a ocean 🌊 wave!! ☮️
I did not like it so much. Prefered Alien a lot over Aliens and IMHO it just got worse for sure with and after Alien 4. 3 is kind of another story it is more like Art. I would say in my List of great movies even Alien is not Top-Ten.
27:20 "RUN!" the crashing ship is rear-projected on a motion picture screen behind the actors. And you can tell, if you know what you're looking at. A 50 year old technique (at least) by the time Aliens was made, and completely effective to audiences of 1986 (and I would say, still). You lose a generation of contrast and sharpness doing it that way, but you would also have that problem doing it using the bluescreen techniques of the time, too, plus fringes around the actors. If it ain't broke.... But that's a Gen-Xer talking. I'm just glad young people can see past the janky effects to thrill to the underlying story, which is a pretty good one. I think that still, today, it's a pretty good looking movie.
@@congoliab Thanks, that's interesting. I have assembled and torn down a few of those walls in the context of outdoor convert events, and it's interesting to see how they're all chained together (daisy chained with power cables and fiber optics for signal).

Thank you so much for watching along with us! ☺️❤️
@pasteye1671 Well, they weren't all created equal. The first two tower over the rest. They all have their merits, though.
@@moog67 It was an extremely high bar to clear. Like Terminator 2, Empire Strikes Back, The Lord on the Rigns Trilogy... How do you follow that up? They're genre defining movies that we still love literally 4+ decades later.
Alien is still my favourite as Aliens is more of an action film but still good in it's own right
Definitely bookmarking and subscribing.
No wayy!!! We might have to find that and watch! We really hated that guy! Haha! Thank you so much for your support! ☺️
Appreciate you watching with us thank you! And thank you for the kind words!
Lance Henrikson (Bishop)
"I didn't even cut a hole in [his finger] Bill Paxton (Hudson), and he was acting like I stabbed him with an ice pick! It was pretty funny actually. ... I felt bad about it ... but not really." Beyond providing a memorable moment, the knife trick scene acts as important character set-up early in Aliens.
Ripley is Legend 🙌
Alien is forever
Couldn't click fast enough 💯

Thank you so much for watching! ☺️
Love you, guys. Stay genuine.
Thank you so much we will always stay true to ourselves! ❤️☺️
It’s such a good movie! ☺️
40:00 We were all devastated when they got Hudson :( I always imagined him escaping capture somehow. Wishing that Ripley could have found him whilst searching for Newt, then they all could have escaped together.
We were so sad about him! 😢
The film is top level stuff, I love the part "Hudson shoot it out" and hicks dives through the window it's just fucking bad ass
When the crew were trying to figure out what is laying the eggs, they mention one Queen ruling them all, while the shot switches to show Ripley.
That was good, thank you. I haven't heard that song in quite a while. It's from Mahogany Rush's 4th album, "Mahogany Rush IV".
Thank you for watching! ☺️
*"Face Hugger's"* (spider aliens) galore in that one Liam 🤣
I met the sleeze ball bad guy Burke aka *PAUL REISER* in the early 1990's in a sandwhich deli in Liverpool of all places.
ANYTHING that resembles a BIG SPIDER is never gonna sit well with me 🤣
Paul Reiser was making a film which I believe stars Julie Walters. Its called STRANGE RELATIONS in the USA and MY BEAUTIFUL SON in the UK. I've yet to see it though.
Third favorite movie of all time. Our grandma took us to see it in the theater in 1986. RIP.,
Great pick! I bet it was awesome to watch in the cinema
@Reactsandgames It was awesome. And neither of my grandmothers would have been caught dead watching an "Alien" movie. "The Sound of Music", on the other hand...
Comparing Alien to Aliens is like comparing Resident Evil 2 to Resident Evil 4. They are both masterpieces, but both hit different.
Totally agree! ☺️❤️
This movie influenced everything: Halo, Gears, WH40k, every military and sci-fi movie that came afterwards, Michael bay’s entire career.. Great reaction!
Thank you so much for watching! ☺️
Paul Riser's (Burke) own mother cheered when he died. That's how you know you've done your job as a villain
😅🤣 no way!! That’s brilliant! He was great in this film! Nailed it! ☺️
One of the best Sci-fi Action Horror Thriller Films ever made!
It was brilliant! 🤩
I love how the queen is always looking at the girl, snarling. The queen remembers seems to be aware or believes she's Ripley's child, and is trying to kill her because ripley killed her children, it's like the queen says, you killed my children, now I'm gonna kill yours, it was actually personal
I didn’t think of it like that! Great point!
@@Reactsandgames The final battle was "Mom Vs. Mom".
I saw Aliens before Alien. I remember my mum said she watched Alien many years before the sequel and she loved that (we had similar tastes). I TOTALLY love Aliens and I still think it is the BEST of all the franchise to this day.
I can’t imagine watching the 2nd before the first! Must have been a little confusing!
So when Ripley is on the elevator and the announcement is made that there are 15 minutes till detonation, that sequence was edited in real time so 15 minutes does actually go by.
That’s so awesome!! ☺️
Brilliant reaction to this absolute classic 😊😊
Thank you so much for watching! ☺️
My top 3 sequels.... Aliens T2 and Ep5 TESB Great reaction guys
Thank you so much for watching! ☺️❤️
Aliens is one of the few movies I've ever watched that left me traumatized when it was over.
Anytime! Keep up the great work! 💯
Thanks again! ☺️
I like your reacation from this movie, great!
Thank you so much for watching! ☺️❤️
One of my favorite movies of all times (and, as in the first movie, the aliens make no you laugh when you see then, they terrify you!).
It’s such a great movie! We really enjoyed it! ☺️
Thank you so much for watching! ☺️
I heard the loader exoskeleton robotic suit was actually so dope and well done that several construction companies contacted the film studio asking where they can buy them. :D
That’s so cool! 😎
"They are horrendous" is the greatest response ever, especially with the spider like hand gesture.
Haha! I’m glad you enjoyed it! ☺️
Another great thing I love about reaction videos are the fan comments. I learn something new every time. This time it was that the actress for Vasquez also played the Stepmom of John Connor in Terminator II. I never made that connection. Her acting was so good, I didn’t recognize her.
That is awesome! ☺️
Al Matthews, who played Gunnery Sergeant Apone the platoon sergeant was a real-life US Marine who served in Vietnam and was awarded The Purple Heart twice for being wounded in combat.
Rest in peace. 🇺🇸 🥃 🕯️
That’s awesome!
I saw this July 1986 the night it was released at what used to be showcase cinemas in the States at only 5 years old.... And MAN THIS MOVIE WAS AWESOME!!!!!!
For me, your reaction to "Aliens" is the introduction to your channel. I greatly enjoyed it and its predecessor in their theatrical releases.
Thank you so much for your comment and for watching! ☺️
As for your question in the first movie regarding the sequels, here's a bit of information:
- Alien
- Aliens (sequel to Alien, often considered just as good/better as the original)
- Alien 3 (sequel to Aliens, not so positively perceived, but it does a good job in wrapping up the trilogy)
- Alien: Ressurrection (sequel to Alien 3, but more of a fanfiction movie than an alien movie. Still entertaining, but it feels like a different kind of movie than the first three)
- Prometheus (prequel to Alien, delving more into the lore of the alien species)
- Covenant (sequel to Prometheus)
- Romulus (sequel to Covenant)
The spider-things have been called "Facehuggers" by the way. They never call them that in the movies, but the fanbase does.
Romulus is a sequel to ALIEN. It’s less than 20 years after. It’s after ALIEN and before ALIENS. Ripley is in the movie. The shuttle is on the space station. You can see it in 2 scenes.
Thank you for the info! ☺️
@@lustrazor44 I think it's supremely uncool that you spoiled what could have a been an enjoyable reveal to new fans. Control yourself, please.
I see so many comments from those, who like me, saw movies like this in cinema. Those comments express the visceral excitement of a group experience. I own a huge collection of movies but watch reaction videos instead because part of the excitement is seeing other people experience these movies for the first time, which adds an element that is otherwise absent.
Don't forget the added impact of an enormous screen and theatre sound systems. They count for something as well.
Thank you so much for watching along with us! ☺️
I'm glad you saw the Director's cut. The theatrical version cut the whole thing about Ripley's daughter and some other parts that just help round out the story a bit. This version helps reinforce Ripley and Newt's connection.
I agree, colony scene apart: it's useless, totally outside the "movie flow" and it ruins the tension of the arrival on the planet
Carrie Henn (Newt), her father was stationed at Castle AFB (where I was also stationed) in Atwater California when this movie came out. She became quite a celebrity on base at the time.
That’s so cool! ☺️
Thank you so much for watching with us! ☺️❤️
Fun to revisit. Seeing it at the theater was awesome. Everyone jumped up with a whoop when Ripley Appeared in her Loading gear to do battle.
That was badass!
I believe when the actor playing Burke watched the film with his mother everyone including his mum stood up when he got nailed by the Xeno, what an honour....
This is my 2nd favourite sci fi film after Terminator 2, so good, so good....
Some one mentioned this!😂 how amazing is that! 😂
Thank you so much for watching! ☺️
James Cameron is a movie genius. He directed 2 Terminators, Aliens, The Aybss , Titanic and Aviatar
Only recently realised he did the FIRST Terminator! I knew he did 2 but not the first! Amazing!
No spoilers, but there are three actors in "Aliens" who were in "The Terminator" as both movies are directed by James Cameron. Two are fairly easy to spot but one is tricky because it is a great, well-known actor but in a cameo. See if you can get three out of three!!
more if you count Terminator 2
@@hyzenthlay7151 Great point!
Appreciate that thank you! And thanks for watching with us! 😃

What a lot of people don’t realise is that the Aliens in said films were NEVER the villains. The real villains/antagonists in the films were The Company
Poor Queen....lotsa' "children" lost 😞
You are right!
One of my all-time favorite movies. Hope you feel better really soon Steph.
Thank you!😊
I'm just happy that there are only two Alien films in the franchise. Alien and Aliens. Nothing more. Same with Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day. ;)
So many comments saying the same thing! Aliens 3 must be pretty bad! 😬
@@ReactsandgamesAlien is Horror, Aliens is Action, Alien 3 is a strange thriller. It does have its moments, certainly -- but without going into spoilers, Alien 3 does away with pretty much anything the first two movies have established and what I and most likely you love about them so much.

I rewatch 1 & 2 regularly every year or every other year. Haven't revisited the sequels in decades.
Those “spider things” are called “face huggers”… for obvious reasons. 😜

Also, glad you’ve watched both Alien movies now. Too bad there are no more movies in that franchise. 😜
Seriously, the rest are generally between meh (ok at best) and awful… I don’t recommend them, and I certainly wouldn’t watch them with high expectations… you should minimally wait awhile if you really feel compelled to watch any.
Thanks for watching! Love that nickname😂!
This was the first horror film I watched as at 10 years old and I wasn't ready. I had nightmares for days.

My favourite film of the franchise
We loved it! 😊
First, I'm glad you showed the directors cut. Second, the chick who had the machine gun was a body builder in real life AND the seargent was an ex Green Baret.
You two were fun to watch. You offered a nice amount of commentary. Some other channels' reaction videos have way too much chatter.
Thank you so much for your kind comment! ☺️
No wayy!! That’s awesome! Thank you for the info! ☺️
Those damn robots come in alphabetical order.
Ash (Alien)
Bishop (here)
Call (a sequel that never happened, stat)
David (Prometheus)
And then, Walter, Andy and Rook ruin the order. 😂
Funny when you say Robots are Mental 😂, just Kiddin’ ! Cool Fun Reaction!
thank you so much for watching this! this is such an amazing film. just like Alien, it is timeless, perfectly done, a masterpiece!
and.... i saw thi sin the theatre when it came out - we were repeating sooooo many lines for weeks. okay, years! in fact, if someone says "its the only way to be sure" i cannot help but think of Ripley!
Someone commented about Burkes mother😂 that’s brilliant! lol some great one liners in this and it must have been epic in the cinemas in 1986!
genuine and immersive reaction. fun to watch along.

Wise Choice with the Extended Edition 🫡
Fun Fact: Xenomorph encounter math is NOT a 1:1 ratio of Eggs/Facehuggers to Hosts/Drones.
I remember Ripley was given Lt. 1st Class when she went back with the USCM here in this movie. Warrant Officer to Lt.! Nostalgia!
I want to magically transport you two from that little screen into a sold out theater, watching it on the BIG screen. 🙂
I bet it was awesome in the cinema!
Glad you listened about the special edition. Good job.
It would have killed me knowing there was more story to watch and having missed parts!😂

Get the arguments straight before talking trash :)

@@miller-joel spoken by someone who was not there when this came out and the xenomorphs were still a complete mystery.
Fictional implied to be created by, but not *made* by
Many companies in fact thought they were real/prototypes/early access and tried to call production to get their own; they had to be told they weren't real.
@ChibiHoshiDragon I know they were props, they had a guy inside of them moving it around. If you look at the Cat logo from 1986 it's exactly the same and it's the Cat yellow. I should have stated they were props, I didn't intend to come off as these loaders being the real deal.
@@MrLivewire1970
Given that there were several who did think it was a real thing back then, and your usage of the word "made"/past tense about a futuristic item without any made in-universe by or tongue-in-cheek comment about " apparently Caterpillar will still exist in the future" and will make.., I thought you were one of them.

One of the BEST films EVER MADE Period!
Great movie!
It and the original are top 5. ALIEN, ALIENS, Terminator 2 are all top 5
They do the exact same thing now with LED video walls, just with more realistic contrast
@@congoliab Thanks, that's interesting. I have assembled and torn down a few of those walls in the context of outdoor convert events, and it's interesting to see how they're all chained together (daisy chained with power cables and fiber optics for signal).
