    People spend lots of time trying to figure out how to use the the LP line on the RV, but this is just so much simpler. I like simple.

    Thank you for the great recommendation - and work to figure out what each of the two units on the Champion inlet line were. Understanding how the parts work together makes a big difference. Great video presentation of the whole setup too.
    Thanks again!

      Haha, I had to go back and watch the video to see for myself and that is just the standard cover for Airstreams. It does look nice. Appreciate your comment and thank you for watching.

    What a great video. This really helped us figure out how to use the same generator by purchasing an extension hose!! So, thank you!!!!! We subscribed! We have an airstream 30 classic.

    I'm sure you know by now but you are correct about the fuel kill switch. It was designed that way to ensure you dont have a propane leak. I contacted Champion about this.

    Thank you for the video. I was going to modify my generator and could not get that regulator nut to come off. So I ordered the extension. I do want to note that I emailed champion and modifying the hose to work with the quick disconnect will not void the warranty. They even sent me the thread on airstream forums describing the mod.

    • @LandingZoneHome
      @LandingZoneHome  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I couldn't get the nut off either and the extension has been working just fine. Thank you for watching.

    Great video. My generator has the 3/8 male flare fitting. Can I buy just the hose with the 3/8 female flare end and the other end has 1/4 male that will quick connect to my RV and not have to use the regulator that came with it? I thought the newer RVs came with built in regulators.

    • @LandingZoneHome
      @LandingZoneHome  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Don't think it will work, Champion device is more than a fuel regulator. Call Champion customer service and they will explain much better than I can. Thank you for watching and the kind comment.

    DId you ever figure out why gas was leaking. I heard your hypothesis in the video, but wondering if you ever found out why it was happening? It's happening to me as well and I can;t figure it out. Don't think it's the temperature change.

    • @LandingZoneHome
      @LandingZoneHome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry but when I started using LP I did not do any follow up on why I had a gas leak. Thanks for watching.

    Great video, well explained. Thank you! Very timely as I'm about to pull the trigger on a Champion dual fuel for our Airstream 28RBQ (1 AC) in advance of a long trip west this winter. Like you, I plan to only use propane (for the same reasons you describe) and was hoping to use the quick disconnect port that comes with the trailer but agree I don't want to void the warranty and the extension hose isn't a big deal. I was looking at the 4500 dual fuel version but your 3400 should also do the job right? Plus it weighs less. Appreciate your thought on these two choices...

    • @LandingZoneHome
      @LandingZoneHome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would love to have the 4500 and be able to run both of my ACs at the same time however, the weight is a killer. Its at the point now that my wife and I struggle getting the 3400 in/out of the truck bed. But they both are great generators. Appreciate you very kind remarks and thank you for watching.

    • @my3sonsnh
      @my3sonsnh 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks…. My 4500 arrives tomorrow. The weight difference wasn’t too bad ~6lbs for the extra wattage over the 3400. While I have you, did you need to use a grounding plug? I’ve seen some mixed comments. Thanks again!

    • @JackHunnicutt
      @JackHunnicutt 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@my3sonsnh The ground bonding plug is only necessary if using a smart surge protector such as my Progressive Industries EMS. HOWEVER, since the Champion is an Inverter Generator the surge protector is not necessary and I don't use it with the generator. I have an older construction type generator and I do use a grounding bond plug (that I made) and the surge protector. I do have a video on this subject if you search my channel. Good luck.

    Exactly what I need....thanks for the video.......would it work the same with 2 extensions (double the length) to keep the generator further away from RV? I own (2) 2500 Dual fuel Champions, that I presume would work the same way when I parallel them for AC usage, right?

    • @LandingZoneHome
      @LandingZoneHome  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should. LP lines on some RVs will be very long so it is the same principle.

  • @alanreoch480

    Can you not just connect the supply end to your existing quick connect on the rv?

    • @LandingZoneHome
      @LandingZoneHome  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only if you first removed the regulator from the Champion fuel distribution unit. I could not get it off and didn't want to damage it for warranty reasons. But I have seen where some are able to remove the Champion regulator then attach to the quick disconnect. Thanks for watching and appreciate the comment.

    • @alanreoch480
      @alanreoch480 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LandingZoneHome I think the regulator already on the rv propane tanks will protect the generator. I will try to call the manufacturer to see what they say. I will add any info I get on here...Great instructional video... thank you for your reply

      @@alanreoch480 there is a TH-cam video showing to remove the regulator and attach an extension hose. You may want to check that or take the easy route and do my method. Thanks for the info.

    With the generator regulator installed will the generator fit under your truck bed cover?

      @@LandingZoneHome Thanks. But I'm trying to add 2 CPE gens to an off-grid home and already have the supply lines/valves etc installed. Just need a fitting that will connect to this proprietary so-called 'quick connect' (not) nonsense. AND after two days of searching, still can't find out what a "fuel dispenser" is, does or why its allegedly required. Nothing about these CPE generators is making ANY sense and "support" is categorically non-existent. Getting ready to return these units, eat the cost of fittings etc and write-off a wasted month of entirely pointless/frustrating effort (after being lied to by CPE)

    Did you end up drilling a hole in your tank cover so you could close the lid while using this setup?

  • @robs3557

    Not sure how that works as you are double regulating your LP.

    • @LandingZoneHome

      Not using the regulator on the RV, just attaching hose directly to tank and using the generators provided regulator. Works great.

    Could you hook up two of those hoses together without buying any other connectors or do they make a 20 foot hose?

    • @LandingZoneHome
      @LandingZoneHome  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can hook two together just don't know how it would affect the gas pressure. Thanks for watching.
