    Thanks for the video review. I have the exact same Airstream (25FB) and just ordered the same generator for the same purpose based on recent reviews. Your review further confirmed my choice. Thanks.

    I just ordered one, we will be camp hosting at 9,200 feet ASL and my prediction is that it will still put out 2312-watts at that altitude in gasoline mode. Our main use will be to power the microwave and to charge our Lifepo4 batteries when our 360-watts of solar isn't helping with the charge levels. Thanks for the thorough review!

    Another test for available voltage could be done. This test taken at a kitchen wall receptacle would show that available voltage under load ie AC on and running.

    Thank you for your videos! VERY simple and clear instructions although I didnt catch what the surge plug is used for. Is there a video explaining this?

    • @LandingZoneHome
      @LandingZoneHome  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you are using a surge protector it will recognize a "ground fault" from the generator since the ground is not bonded to neutral. The plug has a jumper between ground and neutral to resolved the fault. But with an Inverter Generator like this you don't even need the surge protector. Appreciate the kind comments and thanks for watching. BTW my new book just hit the market to "My RV Mentor" if you are interested here is the link. amzn.to/3qoIOpf

    • @LandingZoneHome

    Great testing protocol. It would be good to see the testing with more electrical items in use with one of the AC units. I find with my unit, I can run the 13.5 AC & EITHER the microwave OR the 32" TV, but not both. Where did you find the magnetic dipstick?

      The break in oil for 2 hours then change to fresh break in oil then at 6 hours on meter change to , normal running oil then change at 10 hours on meter and run for 25 to 50 hours. The book says 100 hours but I change at 50. Thanks for watching and enjoy your generator.

    Great video. I recently purchased this very unit. We have a Winnebago Micro Minnie equipped with a single GE 15k BTU unit. Turned on the Generator waited a few minutes to turn on the AC fan came on and then within 3o seconds the generator went on to overload and shut off. Tried several times will not work. Contacted Champion haven't hear back from them. Any suggestions?!
    Thanks,

      It runs my 15K just fine. Did you have it on Econ mode maybe? I always have the econ mode "off" when I startup then turn it on later. Other than that I have no clue. I do know that since Covid, Champion has been hard to get on the phone. Good luck and please let me know when you find a solution.

      @@LandingZoneHome Thank you for your response. I actually called Champion yesterday and the first question they asked "was I at altitude when I tried to run the AC". Indeed I was at 8300ft. For every 1000ft above sea level the generator looses about a 100amps do to thinner oxygen. This unit works like the old fashion cars back in the day before fuel injection. My trailer is being warranty fixed at the moment I'll give her a try when I get it back and let you know my findings! Thanks for getting back to me.

Do you think it will power my refrigerator, freezer, safely? 115v -60hrz -2.1a defrost 525W.

    • @LandingZoneHome
      @LandingZoneHome  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would never try to carry and maintain two generators, that is a lot of work and expense. The 3400 is very quiet. The only downside is the weight of about 90 pounds, I need help getting it into the truck. Thanks for watching.

    • @Hundert1
      @Hundert1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LandingZoneHome Yep, you have a good point about having the two. Except with two Honda eu2200ic we get over 4000 watts combined and another benefit is if one is down for some reason or if we only need 2200 watts we don't need to use both. We actually have a spare or back up. Just like it's wise to bring along at least one spare tire, etc. Two is always better than one. I wonder which is quieter, the Champion 3400 on eco mode or one of the Honda eu2200ic on eco mode? Have you heard of the Generac 7127 iq3500 generator? It has some very nice features like a fuel gauge which the Champion forgot to include. The big plus to the Champion that I'm aware of is the built in dual fuel ability, which is a very nice feature. However when using propane as the fuel we loose about 10% or more of the power output because propane packs less punch than gasoline. 😉 Hope you're able to use this Generac 7127 iq3500 and can tell us all about it. Thank you for your interest in this size generator and your sharing honest feelings regarding them on TH-cam. 👍
