This game gets really deep. The main story is really good and I am sure you'll like it - as well as all the rewards you get along the way. You can take over native villages and make them grow and thrive under your leadership. You can setup automated factories to make lots of cash, to just base building. Then there are freighters, extensive farming and cooking system. And just so much more. I think you can really get sucked into this game if you enjoy it already. It's great fun!

Wow that is seriously in depth, I had no idea!!! I am so excited to get back to it!!! 🙌🙌🙌
Hope you are doing well 💜🤗

I'm surprised more people don't talk about the narrative for this game. It is wonderfully mysterious and existential. I found myself going deep down into the rabbit hole much like I did when the first Matrix movie came out. Makes you think: wtf does real even mean?

Welcome to NMS. You did amazingly well starting out. As you progress through the game you will unlock tech that will improve all of your gear. If you place like tech together you will get a small bonus. For example, you received an A class upgrade to your exosuit shields. If you place it adjacent to your shields it they will be slightly stronger.
One of the easiest ways to make money is scan everything.. The better your scanner is, the more money you will make. If you scan every animal on a planet you will get a nanite reward. Reporting your discoveries will also reward you with nanites.
Do not shoot sentinels...yet. You will need better gear and tech to be able to take them on successfully. If they attack you before you're ready, run away. Go inside your base or dig a tunnel and hide until they go away.
There is now right or wrong way to play this game. As long as you're enjoying it and having fun then you are doing it right. Your only limit is your imagination.

Thank you so much!!! Your tips were so amazingly helpful!!! 🤗
I love that about it so far, and so awesome to see people come out and say that - makes the game so much more inviting for people to play who they want and just enjoy it all!!
I am truly hooked at this point, no point in denying it! LOL!!!

@@MangoPlaysGames I confused you about the placing of upgrades because I thought your new shield upgrade was for the ship. It was for the exosuit I think. You do have two items in your exosuit that can be grouped. Look at life support.

A good thing to know, when you are alone in a star system, opening your inventory does not pause the game, but the esc menu does. If there are other people in the system, you are in multiplayer and can not pause the game.

Welcome to a universe of adventure. You have just scratched the surface. One thing I recommend is to get the BP for and craft either the portable save point or the portable nav beacon. Both of these can be used to save the game when away from your ship. Things are a bit nicer now since they added the auto save feature, so now if the game crashes, and it will, you no longer loose hours of work if you did not use a save. Generally only loose like 5 minutes since it autosaves fairly often now.

    • @MangoPlaysGames
      @MangoPlaysGames  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Thank you so much for the tip!! Oh that must have been super painful to loose hours of work!!!! Glad they have an autosave now!!! 🙌🙌
Looking forward to getting more in depth with the game!!!

Welcome to a great game and an even better community. 👍🏻 You have great instincts, like going into a cave for shelter before the game even suggested it. 👍🏻 It feels complicated and a little hand-holding at first, but that is just in the beginning. Later, you have tons of freedom, but follow the prompts the game gives you for a while until you get the hang of things.

  • @texbankuk
    @texbankuk ปีที่แล้ว +6

Not a bad start. You can save the game by clicking on the metal poles and taller Waypoint towers otherwise you will be autosaving when you enter a vehicle then exiting OK?
Other things to watch out for Sentinels they are the Police force but on the first planet in the game they are either a bit nosey. Too rare or absent but later on they will be a constant pain
Also shoot and scan as much as possible even the asteroids.
For further information about what could be found there is a massive inventory list regarding discoveries on the Tabs this ties in with the mission list ect, Also there a new feature showing the path/s to make things added this year.
If you have any spare time why not have a try of the Expedition mission and that will show off the game at full tilt. That had 5 weeks to start when I looked in. And should you complete this. You can transfer lots of items across saves. Such as spaceships, weapons an vehicle and you have the option of converting this to an ordinary save. Only downside you have to build up all the uncompleted Milestone Levels which will take a few weeks graft. But the good news is you will be well ahead of where you'd be from a Newbs perspective.
Peek into Jason Plays and Beeblebum YT channels and they are both clear explainers regarding this game and there is also a big list of other NMS players posting too.

Thank you! Oh that is a great tip! Thanks!
I was wondering what they were, I kept trying to work it out, thank you!
Will do, I love scanning - when I play subnautica I regularly drowned because I got too happy scanning LOL!
The UI and menu's are a bit confusing to me at the moment, hopefully I will get the hang of it soon!
Think an Expedition Mission will be something to do on the next series, this way I can get the hang of it all and then be ready to really take it in and not worry about the time frame window.
Thank you, I will check them out. I think Jason Plays is the one I watched an hour of - I will go watch some more!! Thank you for your help!! 🤗🤗

In general, it is a good idea to follow the MAIN QUEST as it develops.
. The parallel "Atlas Quest Chain" progress is softlocked by your global achievements, so the later you start it, the easier it gets.
-> The Main Quest will eventually unlock SUBMARINES.
At that point you can obtain the "Living Pearl" necesary to actually get benefits from ATLAS [wait until then before going to Atlas Space Stations by yourself].

Keep exploring you will find planets with nice weather for building your permanent base. Although I have bases all over the place :) Basically any planet you think you might want to visit again, build a base.

    Its so funny.
I bet Hello Games was sweating with Starfield approaching.
And now that its out, more people than ever are playing No Man's Sky 😂😂.
So many new NMS vids on TH-cam these days. Its awesome.
I think the stuff people were hoping for in Starfield wasn't done so well, and they are finding out NMS does it better.

I just stumbled upon your videos ( I know you recorded this 8 months ago). I have been playing this game for a couple years and over 2000 hours now. I enjoy watching people who have never played before as they discover all this game has to offer. It takes me back to my first time playing. I have a feeling I'm going to enjoy your playlist of this game and maybe others as well.

Hi, Mango! @ 26:50 you found a curious deposit called runaway mold that required an advanced mining laser. These are a great source of nanites which you will need a lot of throughout this game. I recommend keeping a base here bc you may visit 100 other planets and not find any runaway mold. Once you mine, you put the r/a mold in a refiner and it turns to nanites. If you find this again just drop a base computer to mark the location then you can fast travel back at any point later in the game to harvest the r/a mold whenever you need it. they respawn in the same spot and you can harvest them endlessly.
Hope to see you continue to enjoy this game!

Hi Chris, thank you so much for the tips - I will keep a base there, I bet we can make it look awesome!!!

      Run Away Mold = RAM
Get it? Like memory chips, makes nanites (microscopic magical robot/computers).

@@MangoPlaysGamesNo Man's Sky has the best gaming community, hands down.
Everyone is helpful and loves sharing tips and locations of good stuff.
I spend a lot of time building Mold farms for public use and giving away valuable stuff in the Anomaly.
You will soon be rich, well supplied and fully upgraded and you are gonna have too much stuff. Might as well give some away. I always load up the pan handlers sitting by the Nexus 😂.
There is a trick for finding those deposits, and the other types of rare resources. They show up in the scanner as 1, 2 or 3 stars. The curious deposits are 3 star.
If you find a 1 or 2 star resource like Floating Crystals or Navigation Data... just walk due north or south and you will find some Curious Deposits.
Eventually. Its not always close by. Riding a pet is a quicker way to go about it as you can scan while riding. They are hard to spot from a ship, you gotta go low and slow.
Or you can find the planets specific flora... the Gamma Weed or Star Bramble or Echinocactus...whatever it is... The patches of plants that stick out like a sore thumb and show up on the scanner... and walk due north or south, scanning around a bit to look for the 3star icon, you will find some.
Everything in the game is on ley-lines. Buildings. Resources. Flora patches. Everything. Its the will of RNJesus. 😂 its not gonna be right on the line, but always in scanner range from the line.
If you find sac venom or metal fingers.... there will not be Curious Deposits. Only 1 type of 3 star per planet.
Often, if you find 1 patch of CDs, there is another pretty nearby. 500-700u usually. You can put a base computer down between them and build a farm at both spots and just fly back and forth... or build a teleport bridge... but thats an advanced lessson for later 😂.
They respawn when you go I think 500u away. It may be less. One ful stack 9999 makes 2000 nanites.
It takes 85,000 to upgrade a C class all the way to S class so you need a TON.

It is highly addictive, you can play on all sorts of different levels and you can choose a custom mode and that will allow you to choose all sorts of things, I would not be surprised if you can turn off the fighting or make it so you only choose when you do it. From what Thorgal said, it is kind of make your own way and choose what you do!!!

Personally I recommend custom...I generally tone down or completely turn off a lot of the resource farming and management stuff...I find mining rocks and stuff to refuel the engines and life support to be boring and tedious...I just crank the combat difficulty and focus on exploring and earning currancy to buy better ships, multitools and upgrades.
