My son & I just knocked this out on his '06. It seems we removed SEVERAL 10MM screws than this video did to loosen/ remove core support. But, we took our time and got 'er done. The old sensor was finger tight! Torqued the new one to 23 ft/lbs with 24mm deep well and medium extension as mentioned. Thanx for this video! RockAuto $13.63 Ultra Power 5S9087
@@tonychau1983 I heard someone describe the o2 sensor as being as fragile as a Pringles chip....and if you treat it like it is, you can remove & replace at will.🙂
@@tonychau1983 🤔 so long as you take your time, and make sure you can see what you're doing... I'll give it a 2 or 3. For me, this kinda thing is an exercise in patience. Allow for adequate time, and visualize each step before you do it and you'll be fine
Yeah they are super brittle and delicate they break off all the time Glad I was able to help Sometimes the most easiest of jobs are the hardest to basic information about.
Just want to let you and everyone here about to take on this repair that you don’t need to take anything off the car. You made it way harder than you needed to. All I did was jack the car up and I removed the knock sensor from underneath all you need is 24” socket and a couple 1/2 swivels because it’s a very tight spot so you need to angle it. But I didn’t have to remove shit from the car to get to it.
Definitely didn’t make it way harder. I also did this job, read your comment tried it under the car first. You may not have to remove parts, but it is definitely not an easier path. This video is much easier and less headache. Your way you have to be a small Asian kid to stand a chance at it.
@@HD-xr8xz I have not gotten those fixed. I asked the dealer and they need the lights to be on to scan. They are only on after car is driven. Possibly vsa module.
hey man i know it’s a little down the road from this video but i actually have an 8th gen with 111,000 and cannot figure the reason for my TPMS light being on. did you ever get yours fixed?
I have never got mine fixed but usually the sensors go bad inside the tires so they need to be replaced Or if you have aftermarket wheels you’ll need to buy new sensors cuz a lot of shops will just mount the tires on the new wheel without adding the sensors because they usually want to charge you for new ones and they are pretty pricy
Not my car but my neighbor's. Interesting how he removes the front stuff instead of the manifold or whatever as in other videos. Kid said needs someone to fix and will pay. Hmmm I don't work in other people's cars but we'll see. thanks

@@tonychau1983 Yup. We even removed it a couple months ago when we replaced the starter.

Appreciate your video thanks man!

I changed the sensor and still have the code. Whats more can be the problem?
Thanks for stating the socket size. I also have vsa light and will check abs sensors. What kind of air box do you have in video? Worth it??
Did you ever fix the abs and vsa light? Mine is stuck on as well

Would this work on my 2009 civic ex coupe?
Is this the same procedure for 9th gen civic
Where did you order your knock sensor? I've been looking around and some are $20 and others are $100+
$13 from RockAuto
Is there 1 or 2 wire that are going to the knock sensor ?
should be only one connector to the sensor, its a clip on
U use a oring??
Where did you buy it? Do you have the link
You can just actually google them and it will show up.
If I remember correctly I found mine on eBay brand new.
They are about 20 bucks
I ordered one next day from autozone for $80

A lot of buy here pay here and private sales miss reprogramming these or like he said the don’t end up getting installed with a sensor
