  • Tutorial on how to replace a bad knock sensor.
    Code P0325 Meaning:
    Knock sensors are solely used for the purpose of sensing when your engine is “knocking,” or sensing when there is exploding in the air/fuel mixture in a way that delivers less power and can also damage the engine if prolonged. When the engine “knocks” there is an excessive amount of NOx that is released. When trouble code P0325 is set, this means that the knock sensor 1 in Bank 1 is not operating properly.
    Symptoms:
    - Check Engine Light
    - Loss of engine power
    - No noticeable drivability issues
    Causes:
    - Faulty knock sensor
    - Engine is running excessively lean
    - Faulty or damaged knock sensor wiring
    - Engine coolant system fault

    NO NEED to remove the intake manifold and throttle body. Just remove plastic cover from intake so you can see, then with your left hand set the 27mm socket on the sensor by reaching over the alternator, then with your right hand put a eight inch extension on the socket with ratchet wrench under the intake. As easy as changing a spark plug.

      Hi, yes it's possible to remove the sensor without removing the intake manifold but you cannot tight to the correct torque the sensor, which you must do it.

    • @MrPaulrak
      @MrPaulrak 4 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Replace the ratchet with a torque wrench set to the proper setting. Plenty of room to rotate the wrench in front of the manifold because there is an 8' extension. But do it however you wish, I just did this on my son's 2004 Accord without any disassembly of the intake and throttle body. I prefer to advoid needless work.

      Getting the socket on the knock sensor isn't the problem, disconnecting the plastic connector to the wiring harness without breaking it or the flimsy wire is.
