Hey guys!
Today we'll be checking out the XTone Pro from XSonic, which is basically an interface with midi programmable buttons. You can use this to control all midi compatible plugins. Today I will be using the Neural DSP SLO-100.

Got the Xtone Pro in the mail today and its such a blast working with it. Thanks a lot for the recommendation. Using it with the Neural DSP Gojira and it sounds way more tighter than with my other interfaces. Also the integrated foot pedal is phenomenal. Could not be happier!

@@propagandagoggles Hey man, it actually is a pretty nice thing to have - unfortunately I didn't use it as much as I thought I would in the end but its cool to switch through the presets on it in my Neural DSP plugins and thats for now actually the only thing I do with it. Also I found, that the quality of the guitars is better than on my focusrite. So far I don't regret buying it. The build quality is fine and everything works as intended.

This looks great, do you have any experience with a good midi expression pedal that could be used with the whammy in the Gojira plugin ? That pedal is the best software whammy I have heard and being able to combine a midi expression pedal with this interface would provide an insane rig for limited cost.
Hey, great video! how low can you set the latency?
Can you do a video or explain how to map an expression pedal in Neural DSP plugins with the Xtone Pro? I tried to do it under CC#4 on the Output gain and it will not let me choose the db values that I want.

Hey brotha, I was hoping u had any input on the latency or maybe wat you have its set too? I feel like my archetype pretucci lags pretty bad when playing faster stuff like simple gallops

How is the output quality in comparison to your usual scarlet 4i4?
did you guys out there manage to output some from the USB to the MIDI out? So far I only got the Midi of the footswitches.

I'm an idiot with midi. Could i have it setup to switch between amps in neural dsp? So going from Gojira dsp to Nameless with a stomp.
Very handy! Do you know if it's possible to connect multiple Neural DSP Plugins at the same time to the midi controller and switch between presets in different plugins?

Great vid as usual man! A quick question, I can kinda hear some sort of digital noise especially when you switch to the high gain preset and start playing.. I basically am dealing with the same thing when my guitar is near and pointed to screens/gaming PC.

@@KeyanHoushmandLive yea! I've tried to chase this problem as it used to bother me but figured it's not audible in a mix with the use of the precision drive (I have the helix version :) Cheers!
Probably caused by EMI, my guitar does the thing as well when I point the pickups towards the motor of a table fan when I'm near one, the noise is louder when I point it towards my PC though. I think the PC just emits more interference than a regular fan.
This is a cool product, I'd love to see a company do a VST host built into this kind of thing. Imagine running your favorite amp sim that you program with midi changes and have everything you want in a box

@@ErebosGR this is exactly what my bands plan is since everything we do is already to click and in ableton. You can use ableton to achieve exactly this idea right now 😂
I just run all my tones on one track and use something like this to turn them on/off, although this thing simplifies my setup a lot.
@@ErebosGR Yes, but stageready and with a touchscreen. I'm doing thsi with an old asus transformer pad and a behringer interface. Latency isn't an issue, I'm at 5ms!
But I wish there would be a vst host in a box with midi functions, it's not that expensive to produce.
@@ayeapprove It's not unfeasible, just not financially viable. Companies want to lock you down to their modelling software ecosystem, e.g. Line 6, Kemper, Fractal, NeuralDSP, Positive Grid etc. so they can nickel-and-dime you through DLC because the profit margins for the hardware are very tight, maybe even at a loss.
@@ErebosGR That's why I will have to build this myself, but it's hard getting it into a footcontroller unit size. I could use industrial computers without fans - CPU power isn't a problem even with Neural Plugins
I tried another simple MIDI-controller to change presets on Neural DSP - Plugins in standalone mode... but everytime I switched presets from high gain to clean and back, there was always a drop out in tone when switching. Didn’t you experienced that?
I think this makes it unusable for live and I hope Neural will fix that.

Yes you can! My xtone pro came in today.
I'm new to all this so bear with me please...lol. So with this XTone, you basically get a preset controller and an interface all in one? So I have the stand alone Gojira Neural DSP in my laptop.....just get this and I can plug my guitar in and be able to switch presets or effects? If so...that's amazing!
Pretty much jus a little trial and error to make sure neural is communicating with xtone

Well…. PLEASE…. before you buy the XTone Pro - Understand the MIDI messages are ONLY sent on release of the foot switches, not on press (which most MIDI foot switches do). This means when you need precise control - as in looping, or changing patches - you can’t get exact timing. PLEASE BE HONEST and post this so guitar players don’t waste money on a product that is substandard with MIDI messages. Some users complained to the vendor (XSonic) - but they said no, that’s how it’s designed to work. Other MIDI foot controllers - all of them - send the message when you press the foot switch down. Very Frustrating!!
I bought one of these and it didn’t include bells or whistles. 2/10
What do you mean by bells and whistles? Are you talking about the peripheral connections and called that are supposed to be included with the interface?
