Literally 100% of those prices are terrible. There wasn't a single "good" bottle on any of those shelves at a reasonable price. I'm in IL, so maybe it's just down to distribution, but that whole place seems 20%+ high across the board.

@@MajorXero - It's true! It's fun to find unicorn bottles for sure. Was just shocked that everything in there was overpriced. To be honest, $1500 for that bottle in a retail store isn't the worst offender as far as prices at that place.

Why is it crazy? It’s their property. Unless you want to live in a control state where all the product goes to officials, bars, and a small amount to lottery. Plus all these liquor stores have to buy a ton of product to even gets these bottles.

That Old Elk Double Wheat is great. Smooth peach cobbler in a glass. Would recommend, if you find in the 90’s. One of my favorite wheaters

About 45 mins south of here on 53, R&R liquor. OGD114 around $45. Two last time I was in. I rarely have issues finding it there.

@@MajorXero early 2023 in Wisconsin they took OGD114 off the allocated list I think and now it's everywhere for around $20.

My place has a huge bottle of Wild Turkey 101 for $37 at my package store, and this is Mass.. $57.99 is crazy. Some of those prices are crazy.

Hah, just posted on the same thing.. MA has great prices on some stuff w the no sales tax, esp the allocated stuff. Some are high. Do you know where in Western MA to get OGD Bonded at best price. Only looked online & lowest I found is $24/1L, but the place is kinda far away in central MA. Thanks!

I said the same about Heaven Hill at $75! Ridiculous as it's $45-$50 around me. Same when she said $120 for EH Taylor Small Batch! That's $50-$55 around me when I get it! 😬 BT is a great distillery, but definitely not worth much over MSRP

@@MajorXero honestly as far as heaven hill, I wouldn't go over MSRP. BT depending on the release I'm not opposed to maybe $20 over but that's just me. There are so many hidden gems that just sit on shelfs because of how easy they are to get (I get it, for some the thrill of the chase is worth the money they pay lol). On the other hand, I have also found bottles running around $70+ that I felt were nowhere near that good lol

WARNING! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING AT THIS STORE, unless you hate money. This is a rip-off store. $58 for Wild Turkey 1.75L!! Just bought a bunch in March 2024 for $29.99. From east coast to west coast, highest I've that is $41.95 total price.

Little out of my price range
I miss the days when BTAC's and Pappy just sat on the shelves at retail. The most I paid for any BTAC was $85 for WLW in 2010.

It's part hype and part scarcity. I had a pour for $25 and I thought it had a lot of flavor and was really complex but it felt like trying to finish a shot glass of battery acid. Not a beginner whiskey, very hot. I'm glad I tried it at the right price but I honestly wouldn't even want a whole bottle. I think a lot of people drinking straight up hazmat whiskey are so into the hype, they convince themselves it's angel tears

I have been trying to find that Ole Smokey Key Lime Pie in Florida. I was told they only sell it the in the distillery stores. I see it in all of your videos.

It's not that hard to find GTS or other Btacs, it's the museum pricing. BT should require distributors to tell stores getting btac they have to sell them through a raffle systems for msrp, or risk not getting btac anymore. It's BS.

Yikes. Heaven Hill 7 Year BIB for $75? $50 bottle that my liquor store had for $40 2 weeks ago. Giving up on OGD 114 in your videos. When they are in your videos, you do not acknowledge or buy them. 🤣 (I picked up the Smoke Wagon glow in the dark for my wife to add to the Halloween decorations)
That HH bottle is $42 near me. Not bad, but $75 is ridiculous.

I bought a bottle of George T Stagg in 2018 for $350 and now I wish I would have bought more. I still have it, unopened. They are non existent anymore in California and if you do find one it’s $1800-$2500

Example: Seagrass Rye can be found nearly anywhere here for 79.99 not 94.99....and that Four Roses special select can be found for 55.99 almost anywhere not 68.99$!!

A lot of bourbon museums where I’m at, I see BTAC and pappy all over the place for thousands. If you’re patient enough our local supermarkets have these bottles once or twice a year for msrp.

If you aren't using secondary market, but you're having a hard time contemplating 1500 for it in some BF store , idk what to tell you.

This video gets a thumb down for highly recommending to people that they go there to buy liquor. Based on this video, don't think I'm going to watch anything else because clearly you can't be trusted. You should have done this as a warning video to fellow whiskey lovers to not ever go here.
This was early on in my hunting career. I was just excited to see one and for it to be in the. Middle of nowhere too. I just report what I find.
