Should I make Whiskey Reviews? (It wont be boring I promise)
Yes. It helps others determine if they have a similar palate and will help less fortunate people know to either buy or not buy bottles.
I really want to say you should but there are already what seems like hundreds of bourbon review channels. But why not give it a shot what's 1 more gonna hurt .oh and you really should not have passed the the belle meade reserve!
With all seriousness, do what you enjoy!

Here's what I've noticed. The channels that are succeeding are those that speak to the common man. Review bottles that folks in your area can get, and spread out from there mileage wise, maybe local-ish bottles. That's a cool niche', and bottles that are slightly different, or new, but not the same ol' allocated bottles that super special channels can get bc they have the hookups. That's why we like you--your like us! Normal, average, but doing hunting for us.
You don't need to start off reviewing KC 9, or WT 101, but remember when Coopers Craft 101 came out? Or different Sagamore's, like 8yr or Sherry? My honest opinion.
It’s crazy to see Russell’s Single Barrel at every stop in my area you won’t find one, it feels like they show up once a year. Knob Creek 12 is in most stores here though I even saw it on the shelf at the grocery store this weekend. The Bond & Lillard is Wild Turkey juice there is another bottle in that series called WB Saffell that people chase. The guy pulling out a Stagg for you is so cool what a nice gesture.

Lucky find on that Stagg. I remember when I was in a small store in March and the lady asked if I wanted a unicorn and she brought out Stagg Batch 18 and it was 69.99. One of the easiest buys ever.

I’m in NJ and got lucky about 4 yrs ago when I found 2 bottles of Stagg Jr Batch 12 for $49.99. Snagged both and never looked back. Damn what a fantastic bourbon. Cheers!!

Hibiki Harmony is good and in my area the best price I see is $75 and that's at Total Wine and a few other shops. It's a good pour of Japanese whiskey but it'll feel very thin and light compared to bourbon. I've found that Kaigan Japanese Whisky and Shibui Pure Malt Japanese Whisky are pretty good alternatives and they don't suffer from any silly up-pricing because they were never allocated bottles.
Nice selection. The Bib & Tucker 6 Year Double Char is a great double oak bottle. Love those Tumblin’ Dice red label Single Barrel picks. Hard to find in my area, so picked a few up my last trip to KY. Great find on the Stagg. I have bought 4 of my Stagg for $59.99. 🥃

I bought mine for $52. They had four on the shelf, so yes, I bought all four.
I just nabbed 2 of the most recent C batch. 8 of them just sitting behind the register on a shelf at a Walgreens liquor in Palm Coast, FL of all places. First time I've ever even seen it on the shelf to purchase. Sent my buddy and wife there to grab another bottle a piece. Cracked it at a family get together. It was the talk of the party, no one could believe it.
I passed on another bottle recently and I regret it
I vote yes on tasting videos. Also, if you haven't tried the Blade and Bow yet I recommend it. I think it's a cool story and I really enjoy the bourbon.

I'll keep adding comments because why not - Penelope doesn't impress me much for the price but when I find them on sale (and I do often) I like to add them to the collection. The Finishing Series are worth chasing though. I just tried the new batch of Penelope Valencia... WOW - closest thing I've poured to a Bombergers. That bottle is nearly $100 though which is super steep but something to grab if you run across it in the wild. The Valencia will probably end up being a high sought after bottle on secondary pretty quick just like the prior batch.

Costco had cases upon cases of Kentucky owl Takumi edition for $69.99 a few weeks back. I should have snagged one but they were not moving very quick so I planned to come back.. forgot... and then they were sold out. From everything I know it is very much a bourbon blended to taste like a Japanese Whisky and I like both of those things... Oh well.

Can confirm, MD is wild with secondary pricing. I did just luck out with a $130 Bomberger pickup last week though.
Hi at 1:02, if you pause and look to the right… theres a bottle there called ‘ jack daniels’. I think that is a really nice whiskey and i recommend you to try it.
Theres another whiskey called ‘ Jim Beam’ which you may not know, again worth a try, especially with lemonade.

Dude hell of a pickup on the Stagg 22a for 58 bucks! I had a good weekend last weekend myself. I got a EH Taylor small batch, an Elijah Craig barrel proof 22b, a Stagg 22b, and an Elmer T Lee all for MSRP!

@@Bourbon_Hunter yeah my best day ever! I live in a small town and our local store saves all his allocated stuff for 3 or 4 months then does a drawing where everyone's gets to pick something. Once everyone has picked he starts over with the drawing until all bottles are gone! Everything is MSRP!!!

Hibiki is a malt and grain blend from Chita, Hakushu, and Yamazaki. Its a full Japanese blend is more skewed to Hakushu and Yamazki. While another bottle named Toki, Consists of the same blends, But higher in Chita and Hakushu, reversed to make it cheaper. Ive tried Toki, Its alright similar to a scotch, Grapeskin and Green Apple spice is what i got off it. My opinions limited, not much into whisky. Still new, I'd get it, Bottles cool, my personal opinion. Then again, Im more into Barrel Proofs and Charred whiskys. Hope that helps.

I get Hibiki Harmony for 100 a bottle. I go through about a bottle every 4-6 weeks. It’s wonderful as long as you like scotch/single malt whiskeys

Hibiki is delicious! I bought it for $80 not too long ago, but that’s as low as you’ll see it. Likely will be in the $90 range most places

As much as I like Hibiki, it has one of the world's shortest finishes.
Got my hibiki for 89 a year and half ago but around 100 or 110 is going price. The notes are very floral and go well with charcuterie. It’s like a scotch but with no peat.

Sorry to tell you, but you won’t find anything special in PCB or surrounding areas. We down here have to drive 2+ hours to Tallahassee to Total Wine to find anything. Only store I might recommend is Beach Liquors. ABC store has nothing. Did see a Stagg Jr and a Magnus Cigar Blend in Rosemary Beach the other day for $300 each. It’s a bourbon wasteland down here. The selections there in SC are so much better than here in NW Florida. Good luck and enjoy your trip, beaches are perfect this time of year.

3 seconds in and I see something I'd have jumped on immediately. I SUPER like Heaven's Door for a celebrity whiskey (and honestly, the Metallica stuff is alright too - though gimmicky). I can find the decade series rye all the time for $90 but the best I've seen the bourbon for was $95 and I didn't buy it. Since then it's been absent from my area. Probably not worth $90 but something I want for the shelf. One section of my shelves is dedicated to 10 year bottles and I just added the 10 year Basal Hayden bourbon and the 10 year Rye - something I'd never heard of before finding it in a small town in the middle of Illinois. The Basal Hayden 10 year bourbon is pretty terrible (for being a 60+ bottle) but I'm still hopeful that the rye is decent

Great snag on the Stagg. I've managed to land a couple for sub $60 but I'll never pay over $75 for a bottle. Stagg is good but the hype and secondary is insanity. The bourbon is younger than ECBP and the proof is usually similar. Basically, I consider them very comparable allocated batch releases. I try to only pay $70-75 for ECBP and that's my max for Stagg. Stagg is good, it's not secondary good (but honestly, nothing really is unless you have more money than you can spend), and it's something I'll gladly buy when given the opportunity. It's not something I'll hoard or wait in line at a bourbon raffle to buy unless it's a batch I don't own.
On a similar note - I snagged ECBP C923 for $70 at a grocery store and a bottle of EHT Straight Rye for $110. I actually hate EHT Small Batch but the Straight Rye is pretty good. It's the first bottle of EHT I've ever seen at a grocery store and the first bottle of EHT that wasn't Small Batch i've found in the wild for less than $199 (normally Straight Rye is $250-300 here). The crazy part is that I almost skipped checking this grocery store because normally their best bottle are like New Riff or black label JD Single Barrel. They had 2 EHT Small Batch $70 - too high, 3 ECBP C923 $70, 2 Larceny C923 $60, and 1 EHT Straight Rye $110. It was also a Saturday afternoon so those bottles likely sat there since the previous day or they didn't unload the Friday distribution during the Friday shift. Either way... now I feel like I have to stop in every one of this chain's locations when I see them

Bib and Tucker is another one of those products that should probably be priced $30-$35 because there are so many equal or better options from the big distilleries for that price or less...not a bad pour by any means, just needs to be brought down a shelf.

Most stores in South Carolina get their allocations at the beginning of each month. I have no clue what else he has but he is a very nice and generous guy. I have bought other bottles in his store before so maybe that helped my chances 🥃

I never knew that they were whiskey TH-camrs in South Carolina. Most of the time people go places and find stuff and they won't let you know what store they went to. I've been collecting whiskey for the last 14 years and I have a big collection of things you can't even find anymore! When I was in New York I could find a lot of stuff at retail price but I had to hunt for it through the different boroughs but I had fun! Here in South Carolina I couldn't find anything until I started looking at your channel the last couple days and you be all over the place. I appreciate everything. I've been in Charleston a lot but I couldn't find anything, but now since I was looking at your channel I think my Hunt will be a little bit more successful! One of the bottles that I can't find is the birthday bourbon and the big boy weller, but I see you found one the other day and gave it to your friend 😀 if you know any other good spots in South Carolina, shoot me a message and also if you ever up on 20 going towards Atlanta there are a lot of great liquor stores out there that you will find a lot of good bottles at reasonable prices

Not worth more and nothing special just looks cool on the shelf! The wax runs all the way down the label. They dunk one bottle at the end of every bottling batch so its “rare” but not special
