Hanging out with a good friend is a special occasion. I see them in my area for around 1,300, no way in hell am I paying that lol Awesome video/review cheers!🥃
I was fortunate to pick up 3 bottles! Both my sons and myself are really enjoying it! The nose is tremendous! Great flavors, my is really hot but I’m sure it will calm down over time! Congrats it’s a very nice pour! I 100% agree on opening bottles right away! When I picked up my GT Stagg I also got Thomas H Handy, Rock Hill Farms, Elmer T Lee, EH Taylor straight Rye, Blanton’s, and Blanton’s Gold and I tried them all over a couple of days! Don’t wait, tomorrow might not come! As of right now I’ve been enjoying my Stagg jr more! Cheers
I’ve seen a quite a few place in south Jersey with this for $750. It raised my eyebrows but still too rich for my blood, but I’m positive they probably sold at that price rather quickly. Luckily a neighbor shared a pour with me on New Years, and it is fantastic and great that you shared the pour as well. Cheers Pal
I understand saving your rarest bottles for a special occasion. I'm saving my Stagg 22A for when I (hopefully) pass my professional licensing exam in April.
Just finished off my 2022 GTS this week. Amazing bottle. Was lucky enough to find a restaurant that sold me the last half of the bottle for $100. Couldn’t pass up that opportunity.
Got the 2023 Handy and GTS for $150 each in January of 2024. Most of the folks I have spoke with feel the burn is a bit too much on the GTS - which I agree. I found the Handy to be far more balanced.
I have a bottle from 2009,2010, 2011 and that shit is definitely one of the best I’ve ever had. I have not tried the newer bottles. But my bottles are older then newer releases
I agree. You have to open a bottle and make sure it is worthy of a special occasion. What if the cork failed or maybe the whiskey disappoints? Open your bottles!
Is it crazy that I felt this same way as I sipped my first ever bottle of Blantons yesterday. I have tried about 35 different other whiskeys and it completely blew me away .
That’s awesome! It’s hard to get that experience when you’ve been fortunate enough like I have. Savor that experience brotha because it’s hard to come by and it truly means you enjoy what that whiskey has to offer! Cheers
I enjoy GTS! This one is a lovely pour! Rich, delicious! A friend gifted it to me from the U.S. I couldn’t find it in Vancouver. I let a pour sit for about 20-30 minutes! Patience! lol! There’s no ethanol burn in the nose which I hate! I prefer excellent scotch for the most part but sometimes I want a good Bourbon pour and this one is a good punch! It’s not harsh - agreed! Good oak. Evolves beautifully! Great video! Cheers guys!!
I've got several GTS in the hazmat zone (2007, 2008 & 2009). Great bourbons but the WLW is at a whole different level. Want a "crazy" price? I paid $65 for the 2007 GTS & THH in '07. Cheers!
I live NW of Atlanta, and I have local store that has it. He offered it to me for$1000 and he said he would throw in a case of 12 bottles of Kentucky 10. He gave me a bottle of the K 10 to try. I DO NOT want 12 bottles of that crap! It was probably the absolute worst bourbon that I've ever had.
I know you’re a Phillies fan but I’ve been a Dodgers fan since I was seven years old in 1968! You remind me of Gavin Lux:) Go Dodgers:) BTW Phillies have some great players! I’ve seen GTS here in California for 1,800.00
Disappointing that it isn’t more complex for the price you have to pay for it. I’ll be sticking with Stagg Jr. my limit is no more than $200 for a bottle. Way too many good bourbons out there that are much cheaper and absolutely delicious. I am very interested in how you think it stands up to Ofo and EC SiBs. My absolute favorite SiB is an Ofo I picked up at Wayne’s Package Store in Warrior, AL feet off of Interstate 65.
As with every bottle for some it is and others not so much. I’ve seen top tasters this last year that didn’t like some of the BTAC and others that did. And things could change in a few months as these open up. The craziest price I saw on a BTAC was on Nestor liquor they had a GTS from 2018 that was 35000. That’s 30- 45 year scotch prices and just ridiculous. Then as for just a pour I saw a guy spent 250 for a WLW 1.5oz and that is insane.
I've seen one for 1500....then yesterday I was at a store and I almost got one for 230! Then one of the employees asked the other one if they need to call the owner about the price of the bottle...so they did lol. Price then changed to 700 lol!
It just didn’t open up for me. Rich and dense, but too slow of a sipper for how I like to enjoy bourbons. I was able to get a WLR and it’s like Pappy 15 on steroids. Honestly not certain I’d buy the GTS, again, if it weren’t allocated. I just didn’t find it easily drinkable or overall enjoyable, but am glad it was picked up at MSRP. Perhaps next year’s will be better. 😂

Yeah I recently saw it for 1099.99. LOL, wtf!?

750 definitely isn’t the worst for sure! But still way to pricey
I like your attitude about opening bottles. No reason to keep them closed for years. Especially for whisky since open bottles last for decades
I understand saving your rarest bottles for a special occasion. I'm saving my Stagg 22A for when I (hopefully) pass my professional licensing exam in April.
It’s quite delicious and will be worth the wait in my opinion.
I can 100% respect that for sure! You do what you want with your whiskey. You dont have to listen to my dumb self lol! Cheers
I am saving my very first GTS for my friend's visiting... Can't wait till December.
This is what it’s all about! Great bourbon with a good friend. I hope my first pour of GTS comes with good memories as well! CHEERS! 🥃
Me too brotha! Great people like yourself deserve a great pour
I picked mine up at Sam’s for 199.00
My favorite bottle of 2023!
It’s a goodie!
Great review! The 23’ was my first GTS pour and I throughly enjoyed it as well and completely agree with your notes. Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Got my bottle at MSRP $125 a few weeks ago. Can't wait to crack it.
Very nice!

Only seen a George T Stagg one time at a liquor store (non raffle). It was priced at $1800
Holy cow!
This was a cool change of pace bringing your friend on seems like a cool dude glad you tried it with someone one more opinion always helps
Yea he’s a good guy haha! He will be on more often
I have a bottle from 2009,2010, 2011 and that shit is definitely one of the best I’ve ever had. I have not tried the newer bottles. But my bottles are older then newer releases
Are those Hazmat?
I really enjoy GTS. I have not had 2023 pour, I really want 2022 bc it was so so good. thanks and cheers

Bought one for $250, opened it last Saturday, incredible!
Deal of a lifetime
Now that’s dope.
Congrats!
Evolution or simple, it sounds amazing. Of the 2 GTS pours I've had, they do immediately filled the room area with a very pungent aroma that I loved.
Fun review. You should consider having Andrew join you more often. He's a good contributor, and you guys make a good 'whiskey' team!
He’s going to!
Special bottles always need company! I'd be opening any BTAC or Van Winkle bottle with my friends or family!
Totally agree!

Every day is a special occasion
True that!

lol! Cheers Nick!
My local has it for $600. I'm hoping to maybe get it for 300 cash 🥃 I never thought I would pay these prices but stagg 23c has me so intrigued 🤤
i've had the 22 GTS 138 proof and it was amazing, however no whiskey is worth more than $200-300 a bottle imo.
Good points!

that right there boys, is the king daddy of all bourbons if you ask me.
All hail the king
Just got a bottle today, can't wait to try it.
Greetings from North Jersey! GTS is hard to find here, and when you do come across the odd bottle, it is $1500+ Simply waaaay too much for me to try!
Yes that’s just out of my price range haha
I know it’s off topic but can you do a review of the hazmat you got from Doc?
It’s going to go in some blinds!
Verses Angel Envy cask strength would be fun!
Are you open to sharing what the trade was? Just curious
VW Lot B 12 year
I got eagle 17 2021 and William LaRue 2021. No gts that year
Very nice
A great review
Thank you!

I passed on one for 700 as well this week
2014 George t Stagg is the best bourbon I’ve ever tried
Craziest price I’ve seen is $5000 here in west Tennessee
Holy cow!

@@EverydayDrinker cheers to you my friend
local store owner offered to sell me a GTS for $1000
I’d laugh 😂
Love to see some fine scotch reviews! Ideally peated but Speyside is great too!

Its a 100.00 bourbon
Yes it is!
