Hey enjoyed the video! Regarding the Rebecca Creek Double Barrel Spanish Oak, it is one of my favorites. I live in Texas not too far from the distillery, that particular bottle is distilled at MGP and aged and bottled in Texas. They have '"Distilled in Indiana." in the smallest font possible on the back label. Anyway, several of my local liquor stores have said that they were told they were no longer going make it. I have noticed that even though it is still on the shelves that the quantity continues to go down. If you want a bottle it may be best to try and get it sooner than later if it is discontinued. Ironic that it is starting to get some buzz from Dan Shook and others and that it may no longer be made. Right now, I have a store pick of that bottle that is just awesome and I am not taking any chances so I am bunkering as many bottles as I can. Good luck!
Dude! Funny you mention it, because since this video, a good friend of mine from Amarillo was able to get me a bottle! Funnier yet, just today, I got a call from a coworker who is in Houston right now. He's bringing me a backup bottle!😁 I am absolutely in love with this stuff. Hopefully, if it is discontinued, RC will find a way to bring it back. Thanks for watching and thanks for sharing your thoughts! Cheers!🥃✌️
@@chasingneat It's freaking fantastic. Word on the street is it's been discontinued, so if you have any TX connections it might be time to give them a call.🥃✌️
Nice little store, some of those combos weren’t crazy outrageous…. Just slightly outrageous…. 🤣 Great hunt video my friend and hope you get a Rebecca Creek Double Barrel Spanish Oak…. Cheers! 🥃
I started to order one from them but shipping and taxes added like $25 to the price. Figure I'll try to find one locally before biting the bullet on that.
Great video! I'm looking for that John J. too. The 4th one is Abraham I think. They have the old label Old Foresters. I saw a lot of that Las Notas at a store this weekend. Why is Clermont Steep up there? That's just a regular bottle!
6:38 I don't see it there but Holladay Soft Red Wheat Rickhouse Proof is an absolute buy! Do NOT skip that one if you see it on the shelf, I grabbed one over the weekend and its an incredible pour! Sounds like you know that!
@@WhiskeyBasket The craziest part was after twisting the cap off (yeah, that's new), poured into a fresh Glen and there was little to nothing on the nose and I knew I made a mistake, then I tasted it and WOW...instant heat, drying of the palate, and drops a flavor bomb!
I don’t get a lot of these stores around us. They aren’t selling enough fireball to get these bottles, so are they getting them from someone on the inside, or are they all related to someone that DOES sell enough to get the allocation?
Somebody must be buying those bottles. I used to see $95 bottles of Eagle Rare at a downtown store where I'd grab a tallboy after work each day. Next day, those ERs were gone. I guess some folks are well off enough that they'd rather pay huge premiums than spend time hunting. Thanks for watching, Matt!🥃✌️
Small stores get a limited quantity of allocated stuff. It doesn't make sense for them to sell them at MSRP when many people would just buy them and immediately try to flip them on the secondary market. If you want to find stuff at MSRP, you need to develop a relationship with a store or figure out when big box stores get their shipments in.
@@bkarle4570 Yep, either they charge super high prices, or have a loyalty club it seems. Even some of the big box grocery stores have loyalty clubs nowadays.
was at a small liquor store in nw Seattle.. Blanton for $160. I was able to buy a bottle last week and found one today for $80 which includes the 20% tax

@@curetiamhices289 Not so much in that area, lol. There's a Hy-Vee on Barry Rd, never hurts to check them out. Then there's a World Liquors on Prairie View, just south of Barry Rd. They have a decent selection but any tater bottles they might have would likely be marked up.
Lol! I just figured they made those for every team, or at least for the SB winner. I love almost any higher proof Makers but don't particularly care for their regular stuff. We still have one of those Chiefs bottles, though, because the wife wanted it on the shelf.
I think a lot of these sorts of places just do under that table deals where they buy from people at a little over msrp rates and then charge these ridiculous museum prices. I've heard first hand from friends who were messaged on social by shady liquor stores asking to buy rare bottles.
Haha! Well, I definitely prefer bourbon, but scotch is pretty good too! When it comes to these videos, I like to keep them at about 8-12 minutes, give or take a minute or two. If I've only got 4-5 minutes of bourbon footage, I might decide to scan over the scotch and Irish whiskys. So yeah, it will probably be bourbons and ryes for the most part, with scotch and Irish included when time allows. Thanks for watching, dude!🥃✌️
Russell 10 with the "all whites" label. New label has the age statement ribbon in maroon. I've heard the old label is better and that's the best price I have seen on any Russell 10
There are several gas stations around here that will have at least a few overpriced tater bottles in stock, though most don't have quite the vast selection of regular bottles.
@@kokoaDarkPenguin88 Dude, it's getting stupid around here. You will see BT for $50ish more often than you'll see it for $30ish. I think Grand Slam downtown has it at $69, and plenty of fools buy it!

Bookers was the only thing worth grabbing in there it looks like. Another great video man.
Thank you, Dustin! Totally agree, the Bookers were just about the only special bottles with a decent price.
