Sten smg can literally be made from bicycle parts where is the challenge in that?The mp40 is slightly harder to make than the sten as well that's about it

Hi Clinton. Great build and you have shown some wonderful ingenuity. I would still want to weld (or secure with wire -through- bolt shank holes, perhaps groove and circlip) the last 2 sets of screws so the dont come back at ya during a cycle. The pitfalls of mixing steel fasteners and aluminum, but what can you do. I hope you have been having a great summer and update sometime soon!
Really love the idea with the stainless steel screws there. I frankly wouldn't have thought of that. I was actually wondering how you would do the slide on this one since you made the frame out of aluminum. Gotta love the way you think. Can't wait to see the next bit of progress!

Is the build still on hold clinton, im after some advice. If i were to make a revolver do you think it would be possible to use the steel tubing with a die end on it to screw it into the 'reciever'. I was thinking a .410?

It does not mean you have to comply with the government. If the law is unjust then you are well within your basic human rights to ignore the law. Basic human rights granted to you by God cannot be taken by any mortal on Earth. Your right to self preservation is a right every human being possesses. It is up to you to enact that right and ignore what your government told you. That is civil resistance and compliance only empowers those in power and weaken those who do not have it. Disobedience is required when a governmental power strips its citizens of a basic human right. The right to live is the top basic human right. If it is in the form of a homemade firearm that you maintain your right to live then so be it because in the end would you rather be sitting in a court room bringing attention to your governments wrong doings by letting them know that their law is unjust or would you rather be dead because of a law set down by those same people that made it illegal to retain your right to live. A firearm is simply a tool used to either gain your Independence and stop criminals (including ones with badges who claim they are working in the interest of its citizens) or they are used to retain freedom. You won't ever be truly free until your government either reverses the law and acknowledging it is wrong to deny people the right to live or the people where you live take up arms and forces the government and takes that right back. They cannot ban the ingenuity to build a firearm and your country's gun control is used as nothing more than to serve in the interest of government and against the interest of its citizens. This is simply a gross misuse of power. America does a lot of things wrong but our Constitution that grants everyone who draws air basic human rights that cannot be altered or edited is not one of them. We may not be the best shinning example of a lot of things carried out by our leaders but our right to own firearms was only designed to do one thing and that was in the event our government became so corrupt it started to trample the rights of the American people we are suppose to take up arms and demand that right back. Not ask nicely, not negotiate (because the right is granted by God and no person has any authority to act on behalf of God) but to force them to give it back. Look up "The Battle of Athens" and you will see exactly how our Constitution works in regards to government tyranny. This battle happened in Athens, TN. It is one of many examples where we invoked our rights by force and the governmental figures backed down. In America we are dead set on retaining our freedom and a lot of us will go to great measures to keep it. Not only for us but for our future generations who we are determined will always know what freedom is.
Every part you make is a little work of art. How do you get such a great finish on parts (eg. the barrel lug)? Do you have a favorite dremel attachment, some sort of buffing wheel, or just emery paper and lots of effort?
Amazing job! To make it complete: cast your own bullets, machine your own casings and make your own gunpowder (pure (di) nitrocellulose does a great job). Then, you´ll be the absolute master gunsmith!
I have been wondering how you were going to tackle this! Now that is freaking ingenious right there lol. I don't see any reason it wouldn't work. The only thing I would worry about is them backing out over time. However, that wouldn't be catastrophic even if they did, as the slide would just start to bind. Good stuff my friend, can't wait to see how it turns out.
If I cut a through slot in the slide as planned, a visual check would reveal them peeking out further than usual. And realistically, the duty cycle is minimal to most machines.

It seems to me that you could use just two of those slide bolts instead of all of those, since assuming proper alignment, the rails will only contact two bolts on each side. It does sound like a solid and simple plan for slide removal. I like it. When I did my bill holmes pistol build (which for all purposes is like your sheet metal build because I made an actual slide rather than his tube luger design) I used pin which was held in place by a cotter pin to hold the barrel trunnion in place. Lockup of the barrel was via a sheet metal flat that was bent upward by a screw inside the trigger guard which created an adjustable wedge for the trunnion to butt up against. When the slide was pulled all the way back, the front of the slide was recessed to allow access to remove the cotter pin and then the whole slide assembly, barrel and all slid forward off the frame. Just another thought, it probably won't work well for your current build but maybe it might help you or someone else in the future, I don't know.
I think the whole row is overkill. I had considered just what you suggested, but it just didn't look right. This is after all eyeball engineering. Have you ever published your build? I would be most interested in taking a look.
All of my builds are documented for several private civilian LE intelligence (think active version of crime tips) and US nationalist organizations working domestically and overseas. The detailed plans and designs are only for specific active members because they involve more special use equipment such as belt feds, 60 and 40mms, and energetic as well as some experimental designs such as caseless in order to bypass ammunition bans. I don't want these designs to be seen by the eyes of our enemies, foreign and especially domestic. However I am willing to sketch a basic diagram of my current design for your personal use only since you are doing the country (and really the world) a favor by doing these builds and inspiring others to exercise their rights. My personal rule is to help others with their builds, but not to give anything away in full. PM me an email and I'll sketch up the handgun basic design and tooling.

If these rails prove unsatisfactory, you could make your slid a bit wider and use a bit of right angle steel extrusion screwed onto the sides. Trim down the angle iron and you get your slide rails of steel. If you didn't change your slides You could still do your through cut slots and have the rail sections screw on from outside your slide and protrude into the slots from the opposite direction. Sort of like a CZ pistol, but moreso.
Very interesting idea with the "rail buttons" concept. If I might make a suggestion... I see that you want the slide to be slotted, rather than grooved. Is there any reason that slot can't be covered? By rights, one could simply sandwich sections to build a grooved flat.
Nope, no reason at all. If I go with the slot idea in a single piece of sheet, it can either be left open for an interesting look, or closed with a removable slide grip. I like the idea of a closed slot so that I can permanently fix the front of the slide closed.

You can build this gun as a blank gun.
Most blank guns are illegal in The Netherlands too...

Nah, just an expert in photoshop:) The real answer is that I use a medium and soft scotchbrite wheel to cover all my worst sins.

There is some locking going on with the two dissimilar metals. Loctite may be required. We'll see.

Exactly. That's why this channel exists. I would prefer to bolt before welding before milling etc...
