@pushhard2 man I disagree my 08 was as clean as ever all I had to touch was the power steering lines. It's like most cars if you truly maintain it then it will be good as long as the engine and transmission is solid.
The Saab 9-7x Is a Trailblazer It's built on the GM360 frame that the Trailblazer is and so is the Buick rendezvous, and the H3 Hummer is built on a modified Trailblazer GM360 frame as well.
No faking the funk! If you gotta Atlas 4200, act like it! TB SS shouldn't be cloned! What's the point? I'd rather have the Atlas 4200 with cams & turbo spank'n sum ass & giving those SS boys problems 😁
@wrksnfx Wrong again... it is NOT built on GM360... it's on GMT360. Chevy Trailblazer Saab 9-7x GMC Envoy Buick Rendezvous (And I believe) Isuzu ...etc Love those vehicles of that platform 😎👍🏽
I’ve got a 2005 trailblazer LS, it’s got 25,000 miles on it (no, that’s not a typo) thing is awesome, my only complaint is that it’s not the 4WD version
i was just given my dads 2004 EXT Northface edition with a 5.3L. Not sure if i should keep it bone stock like it is, or do some minor mods. He even still has the soft Northface roof bag and sleeping bag that came with it. And yakima racks. Its a camp rig as is in stock form, but could use a small lift to run some 31's.
Sold my 01' A4 1.8t quattro full bolt ons, hybrid turbo and water meth injection to get a Trailblazer.. was close to getting an SS but i was more interested in the 4.2 Straight-6 for reliability, wanted to leave the tuning world and get into an Overland setup.. was gonna get an SS to Overland but i rather leave that to guys that actually appreciate it being more on the streets
I have a 2005 with the 4.2l inline 6 with a straight pipe exhaust and it's got a little over 150,000 miles I absolutely love it I just wish they would make more performance parts for them
Wish me luck guys, going to pick one in dec 2024. Its 2003 beige colour stock 4wd. Obviously I gonna throw in some mods on it. That’s why I am here. I think we should make a handle on instagram for trailblazers only, these are so reliable and so favourite among people even today in 2024. I don’t like the latest model trailblazers though, they suck
First of all, I appreciate your video. The TBSS is underrated but a great platform. It is common to LS swap vehicles, but these already come with an LS2, 6.0 aluminum block laying down 400 hp from the factory. So you are starting miles ahead of the competition. However, I would like to point out the following. As others have mentioned the Saab9-7X is a sister to the TBSS. There were a few in your video but you did not even know what they were. You also mentioned that people should upgrade their wheels. Why would you do that when as you observed, you already have stock 20 inch chrome? And they also look good powder coated. You mentioned that you can add air suspension. Did you even know that they already have rear airbags from the factory? Onboard compressor and fill hose as well. You said that you can get a different grill. Really? What you show was a painted OEM grill and/or grill inserts. You also show what you call a “body kit bumper” which was an OEM bumper with a front lip from a 2005 Nissan Altima. Again, I appreciate the video but wanted to clarify a few things. There is already too much mis-information on the Internet. Let’s get this right. Thank you, keep it real guys and gals.
I have an 04 EXT LS with 24 inch wheels smoked with the windshield strip. Mint! Can't forget the sound system! 2 AGM batteries to stop the dimming from the car audio.
My LT is a 4.2L inline 6 all i added was a cold air, upgraded suspension and a little 32mm turbo and its one of the faster cars on the road 90% of the time
I just got a silver 07 2wd TB with 144k on it. Needs things serviced but Very clean. Now the 4.2 inline 6 is very capable to make 600+ hp with very stock engine. Now gotta get better rear end gears and built 4l60e transmission. I'm going to lower mine and get high end 6x5.5 lug conversion for better wheel options. Tint this beast to. Nice video!
The saab was in there because saab and Chevy were sharing platforms for many years late 90 saab 95 was a Chevy underneath until now though I have never noticed a saab SUV
I do too. I live where it snows and it's rural. Most driveways are an off road experience. The lowered mod is fine for a city boy that never sees dirt or unplowed roads.
I own a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT LS 5.3L V8 7 passenger truck frame SUV. All stock..... looking to do both body enhancements and performance. modifications
Is there any mod which helps me with fuel usage on the trailblazer, My family had one before but now i want it again but for myself. It has a big engine which means larger amounts of fuel is used.
Not really. They also come with 4.10 gears for added low end torque. Some guys have changed to 3.73 gears from a standard trailblazer, but the 1-2 mpg savings usually does not justify that.
Some trailblazers look good lifted but in my opinion it isnt mechanical sound enough unless you go all out with straight axle swaps and a custom frame. Trailblazers steering knuckles dont alow for anything bigger than the SS wheel setup without using wheel spacers. The suspension design in general is based around proformance wheather that'd be for ripping down some trails or down a drag strip. I dont believe its that bad to clone a base trailblazer into a SS because not only is the 4200 i6 a amazing engine itself but you can find base models with a 5.3 V8 that allow for some very interesting and relatively cheap mods that can take the SS cloning to a whole different level.
You can also find other GMT360-370s with AWD paired with the 5.3v8. I don't believe base model 5.3 trailblazers had that AWD option just 4x4 and 2wd. sab 9-7x 5.3i, Buick Rainer v8,gmc envoy Denali are all AWD. Another great thing about trailblazers is every engine option is aluminum block so if you can get you hands on a 5.3 base model the engine alone is worth a little more money than than the cast iron 5.3 v8s
Cool video. I have a 4.2 trailblazer LT. I’d never turn it into an SS clone because the SS is in a whole other league with the 6 litre ls2. The Saab is a sister to the TB just like the GMC Envoy and the Buick rainier. I WANT AN SS! lol.
These reliability comments are something. You have/buy a 15-20+ year old truck and not expect to put anything into it? I bought a 2003 LT last year and put in $600 in parts, not that I needed to. Did the work myself because that is the only way to save an old car. I then took it to a reputable mechanic to inspect it. He asked about it being tuned up. There was nothing wrong and it drove perfect. 12k miles since I got it and still as reliable as my old Toyota.
The first mod you should do is engine upgrading not a bunch of wasted money on visual crap especially making a clone that’s not cool at all that’s high school shit. You want to look slow and all go. Go buy a LS for 1000 bucks put a turbo on the 4.2L and make 500+ hp. SS trailblazers are still easy 10k +.
Pieces of $h@+ is what they are. I bought an 02 in 2020 and been throwing money at it ever since. Breaks, rotors, caliper, tires, full front end rebuild minus the knuckles and steering rack, water pump, facn clutch, thermostat, power steering pump, power steering lines, ignition switch, battery, starter, coil packs, spark plugs, vvt solenoid, fuel pump, fuel tank, fuel filter, spare tire hoist, speakers... Currently throwing codes P0756, P0172, and P0420. I'm about over it!
Lol I got a 05 in 2020 as well. Was good without having to do much to it. Then the AC stopped working then the gas gauge went out, that's just the sensor but still have to drop the tank. So I ran outta gas n since I've had to replace tons of shit. All new spark plugs n coils, cam shaft sensor, crank shaft sensor, vvt solenoid. Then got new tires and control arms. Now my starter seems to be going out.... I replaced the started a couple years ago already. It's always one thing after another
I regret liking this. Fuel pump floater failure. You have to guess how much gas you have left in the tank. Air conditioner failure. The Resistor to the blower melts. Danger!!! The back window wiper fails. The door Assembly on both sides are trash.
With the exception of door failures I put 300k miles on mine and only had to replace the fuel pump once. The one trailblazer you had an issue with isn’t a good reason to tell people not to buy them. They known for being a great SUV at the time. Like 100 people going to a restaurant and one person gets a bad burger and tells everyone else they know not to go there.
Got a 2006 Trailblazer LS, it’s the best car I have ever owned. Yes I do maintenance work on it but it’s easy.
02 lt I love her to death. upgrading something every check. 4200 vortec i6 is a beast of reliability
Trailblazers are some extremely reliable
True
No they aren't. They are a piece of junk. Engine good but the surrounding parts will always have you at the mechanic shop. Toyota all the way.

My mom use to have a Chevy trail blazer had 40000 miles ran completely fine
I have a lifted trailblazer. The lowered trailblazers look clean but I pefer riding high. Trying to find a ss grille
I lifted mine, too. In part because it snows where I live rurally where rough roads are a normal.

Love that you show "Saabs." I have the fastest 0-60 Saab in the world on Dragy. The TBSS looks mean, the 9-7X Aero is a sleeper.
I sold my TBSS but I have a AWD 5.3 Saab 97x daily and a 2003 Gmc envoy slt rwd with a lsx 454 and built 4l80e swapped in it.
The one with an intercooler is probably the 4.2 inline six, saw one guy boost his and for 500hp on 9lbs all stock internals

The grey suv was a Saab that is based off the tb nd the one your lookin at has the ls2 engine in it hints as to why it’s at a tbss meet
I had a 08 for 4 months financed owed less than 7500 and it got totaled I'm still mad about it. I had plans for that suv.
They’re super sexy!
U r sayin that u've not seen a good looking lifted tb? U should see mine dude! :)
Where can we see it?
That was a Saab 8/7 aero they are literally a TBSS that Saab a GM company released
We have a 02 black with grey leather sunroof lowered SS wheels with over 200,000 on the clock and hasn't let us down yet 👣👣

Trailblazer SS is a 6.2 not 6.0
