    what would you do? Buy and build a 4.2, or buy and build an SS?

      You can just put a 4l70 or 4l65 in the truck there basically the same I had my 4l60 blow up in my 5.3 sierra and swapped a 4l70 in

      @@slyrie69 unfortunately its a little more complicated on the atlas motors as they have a very unique bellhousing pattern. fortunately there is a company who makes adapter plates.

      @J-Whit I mean if you gunna adapt it might as well go 4l80 give you longer gears should improve your times also could use a better converter more for a turbo setup and 2 step

    I have 2009 4.2 vortec TB , if you own one.. don't wait for the engine light for motor repairs, if the motor goes over 160,000 miles, best to rebuild the outside the engine,like water pump, themostat ,both radiator hoses,idler pulley, tensioner pulley, camshaft position sensor, crank shaft sensor, vvt selinord, throttle body, oil pressure switch, new belt , and if you experience front end rattling, best to replace the whole front ends, like new Lower control arms,upper control arm, struts, sway links, sway bushings,tie rodes, hub bearings upper Ball joints, and replace front 4 body mounts, the suv will run smoothly again like from the factory, great video man

    A 2008-09 trailblazer crashed into my parked 99 maxima head on and totaled it in hit and run. I was in my house at the time and ran a 1/4 mile barefooted to try to catch the blazer and the driver finally stopped to put his front bumper back on. I wanted to kick his azz but he was much bigger than me so I just took the plate info. Ever since then I wanted to own a blazer because its built like a damn small battle tank. Now I want one even more because of the power potential and gustimate the value will start raising as its potential become more popular.

    I can tell you that I have put about 5k into my Saab 9-7x Aero and it runs a 12.7 . So the best bang for the buck will be the 4.2 options, plus if you blow an engine then the 4.2 is WAY cheaper than the LS2 by a lot! I'm laying down about 450whp. Oh and the production numbers on the Aero are only 554 through 08-09

    Happy New Year! I do miss my 2004 Trailblazer 4.2L 2WD with a locking diff. I bought new, very quick for a vehicle that size and great towing, good room inside, great ride, handling, and brakes once I put power stops on it, I would love another one and throw on a turbo

    I definitely enjoy the 4.2 more they are super reliable from the factory, I’ve had the SS and the i6 and I caught a rod knock on the SS after a month of owning it from beating on it. The i6 I have beat on so much and it still continues to run with no issues now the transmission behind it I have had to rebuild but it also had 130xxx miles on it so it was going to go at some point. I had one of the Non ext trailblazers with the 5.3 and that was a fun one also but I didn’t drive it as much so I got rid of it, overall the i6 is the best bang for the buck especially where they are becoming more popular in the aftermarket world now.

    I have the GMC envoy Denali with a 5.3 that I got for dirt cheap through a cam long tube headers and a Trailblazer SS front and rear differential and man does it move. tuned 93 octane as well as a transmission tune to wake up the 4l60 and make it stronger.

    People overlook the "other" GMT360's.. I paid $2600 for my 07 5.3 Saab 9-7x. My roommate paid $3000 for his RWD 04 Buick Rainier 5.3. both aluminum block 5.3's. Both in very good rust free condition with only a few small dings and scratches on them. And the 9-7x Aero is really just an AWD TBSS in sheep's clothing and would be equivalent to a TBSS 3SS package.

    I’m sorry to say but it’s extremely easy to get over 500 hp out of the 6.0. Plenty of people have added a turbo or procharger to a stock 6.0 on lower boost and gotten 500 plus. You definitely need to get rid of the cylinder deactivation because it will destroy the engine.
    Not taking anything away from the 4200 but I prefer the torque curve from the V-8 along with the sound. But I’d love to have a typhoon, cyclone and definitely the Grand National GNX.

    • @J-Whit
      @J-Whit  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Oh it for sure is. Ive done it on a 4.8 lol But bang for the buck i think its hard to beat the 4200 vs. the SS.

    • @P-J-W-777
      @P-J-W-777 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@J-Whit yeah I agree bang for buck. I’d just have to add it really depends on what you’re looking for. You’d never get the torque a V8 can output on a V6 or I6 reliably. I do like what you’ve done because I think the front grill and headlights on the 4200 looks better than SS. The 4200 with a very nice body kit similar to the typhoon kit would make it look even better especially now that you’ve lowered it. I also like that you can choose to be in 2 wheel or 4 wheel.
