    I was in the doomsday cult of Jehovah's Witnesses.
    Life only began once I left.
    Some take a dark turn when they leave, but I am just thankful for each day of freedom.

      The Jehovah's witnesses don't have barbed wire to keep you in. They have more subtle ways. You are free to leave but your family will shun you. I mean really shun you. Not even phone calls. You are cut off. Your family will consider you dead. If you leave with your children, they are treated the same way. The Jehovah witness calls it "a loving arrangement". Your family is held hostage to force you to return. If they can't talk to you or communicate with you in any way, they think that you will return to the fold. It's also a way to punish you for leaving. But, you are free to leave. There are just,,,,,,,, consequences. If the watchtower has a whole family in the cult, that is the best because they have the most leverage. If one member of the family tried to leave then that one is shunned by his or her, whole family. It's very effective.

      @@jimbobaggans1564 It is true. If you are a baptised Jehovah's Witness who has been disfellowshipped you will be shunned unless you return to the group EVEN if the person quits the thing they were dis fellowshipped for. Some people just don't want to return to the Jehovah's Witness religion/corporation after researching it. It is emotional blackmail to shun family. The jws use some scriptures from the bible which they take out of context and ignore other scriptures that show that that level of shunning is wrong. I have family members affected by extremely shunning and as such its made me do thorough research. Be careful if you are being convinced by friendly jws

      Twitter has one prominent shareholder that is advocating for their cult. Many media organizations and public companies are the same position.
      To fight for personal freedom, is harder than most people realize.

      Time to Reason, hey mate the difference between a cult and religion is that one has integrated into society. Whereas the other only cuts people off from it. I as a Christian say that Christians have our it’s beliefs and muslims, Jews, Hindus etc. have there’s. If you are now an atheist, I would like to very much know how you came to that conclusion as differing way of seeing things fascinate me.
      P.S what sect of Christian where you, I am orthodox.

      If you are educated and can find a job to live a better life, just go out listen to no one no matter how close relation you have with that person. Its your life don't let people take advantage of you, don't let them ruin your life. I know its easier said than done. but believe me if you trust yourself and take one step further you would find you have taken off huge burdens of your shoulders.

    Thank you for explaining to us about free will and we can do whatever we want in life that is worth living, but deeply we all need to ask ourself, is what we’re living for, for ourself? Or is it for God? At the end of our life, we’re spending an eternity with him so we need to find a way to connect to him without running into problems!

    SOLUTIONS

    • @sofiamorgan6644
      @sofiamorgan6644 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Heather the Artist I don’t agree. The solution is to bring awareness about these cults and their tactics. Speak up on social media, word of mouth, whatever it takes. Most people see JW as just some nice conservative people knocking on doors. Due to XJW being brave enough to show the true colors of the Watchtower, their number are decreasing because the word is spreading. That is the solution to end these harmful cults aim to recruit new victims.

      End all blasphemy laws.
      Freedom of expression.
      Abandon Twitter which is influenced by a cult.
      The right to practice a belief system, automatically infers the right to stop believing in that belief system.
      The right to be in a belief system infers the right to in no belief system, to be a non-believer.
