Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on TH-cam yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthev... and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyro... The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyro...

I am attempting to teach my granddaughter to crochet and she lives thousands of miles away. Your you tube videos are a life line. THANK YOU!!
You’re so welcome Pam!😃🧶
I cannot tell you how extremely happy I am to have found your channel as a newbie to learn how to crochet !!You are by far the best teacher I have seen to show me how to successfully learn the art of crocheting ❣️Thank you so very, very much ❤️
I accidentally watched your DC stitch video first, then this so I kept wrapping the yarn over before going through the stitch and being confused as to why I had too many loops haha. These videos are so clear, two days ago I couldn't crochet at all, now I know single and double stitch, and have done my first granny square! 😁
ty!! you did a amazing job of explaining and ive managed to do go from only seeing people crochet to being able to do single crochets in 10 hours. you are amazing!
Awh, thank you! I’m glad it has helped.😃
This helped me so much!! I made a lil ugly /cute square but it’s a start lol never crouched before❤️
Thank you so much for these videos for beginners! I love that you talk and work slowly. I also really appreciate that your music doesn't suddenly get loud when you aren't talking!! ❤️
Love it, good for beginners or going back again to this crochet craft. Video shows it all
I’m absolutely fascinated with the look of Crochet and was completely daunted on other how to videos on the subject until I found your content. Thank you, thank you thank you for making tutorials that are clear and easy to follow 😊😊😊😊

@@HookedbyRobin I have been trying to learn how to crochet for 50+ years! My mother, grandmother, and my step daughter have all tried to teach me. Your video is the first explanation that has ever made sense to me! And your voice is so calm and soothing. Thank you Robin!
You’re welcome Kim, I’m so glad my videos have helped.🤗
Thanks for the refresher. You’re very helpful.
😃🧶
I am a beginner and I wanted to learn knitting, I finally found the easy tutorial class. Thank You very much!~~~~:)
Robin, after you made the chain stitches and were ready to start a row, you said because you are doing a single crochet you skip the first stich. Does that mean that other stitches you crochet determine in which stich to start the new row?
Hi Robin!, I like watching your videos and I just started mine. I made my first video today and would like to invite you to take a challenge! A crochet challenge: how many stitches can you crochet in a chain in one minute. It's silly, I'm awkward and I think it would be fun to see awesome crochters like yourself show off their super hero fiber artist speed. Thanks.
Juan of a Kind Creation just watched your video 😅 you're adorable! I'm up for the challenge! Whoo!
OMG! Honestly, I'm like a 4 year old high on candy right now, I'm so freakin EXCITED! AAAhhh! :D
Juan of a Kind Creation LOL I am exactly the same, I get a bit giddy and nervous all at the same time whenever I am filming 😂 I was super excited to see my name pop up in your video description LOL!! My fella is up for giving me a hand with the timing tomorrow - it's gone midnight here so I'd best get my butt to bed 👌
Oh, I'm so sorry, I had no idea about the big time difference. Goodnight.
Juan of a Kind Creation no need to apologise! I'm the one who shouldn't be on her phone so late at night 😂😂😂
Thanks
You are so welcome!🧶
Omg I love ur voice ❤️
Can you please give us a clear explanation of how to do the 2nd step
❤
I did an newer video which includes the single crochet stitch too: th-cam.com/video/1g7tLcKsVCc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Iw9wq7Z2XGnS1Weq 😃
Restarting to crochet again, looking for samples for super bulky (6). Please suggest, thank you in advanced
I’m having a hard time getting it even… By the time I get several rows up, the sides are wonky and I no longer have the same amount of stitches 😕
it’s so hard for me to tell which hole or chain is the right one. every time i practice it looks wonky😭 and i feel like im putting my hook in the wrong place.
Don't get discouraged! The same thing happened to me when i first started. It looks a little different when you're single crocheting into your starter chain compared to when you're single crocheting into any other subsequent row. When crocheting into the starter chain, you're basically going to put your hook through the center of stitch where the "V" comes tgther. On subsequent rows, you're going to put your hook underneath the "V" of the stitch rather than thru the center of it. This video shows that really well. Good luck!!!
@@kristina__marie OMG THANK YOUUU!! this makes soo much sense! i had kinda noticed tht same thing in the video but i wasn’t to sure, i really appreciate the break down♥️!
@@astrxlsev I'm so glad the description helped! ❤️
Thx for the video
I love your pfp my dude
@@zombi_kat9302 thanks man💀
Can someone please recommend a a yarn for me to use thats good for this nd where to get it plz..?:)
Where can u get ur hook
When starting the second row, you skip one stitch…doesn’t that mean you end up with 9 total instead of the original 10? Thank you!
She's working w 9 stitches, not 10. The 10th stitch she counted out when making the starting chain was the chain stitch allowing her to turn & begin single crocheting row 1. So, it's 9 stitched +1 chain to turn. It's just like the single chain she makes at the end of each row to turn & begin the next row.
Ughhhh my yarn is fuzzy and dark purple this is impossible lol
I got skinny yarn I’m trying it again
Mine ends up as a snake and doesn’t look right😂😂😅help I think it’s cause I’m using black yarn
Black yarn is the WORST colour to try learning with! 😅 Even the pros shy away from black yarn lol
I only have a fuzzy fur like yarn... It's horrible for learning :')
Not beginner friendly
It is if you follow the instructions
Just found your challenge. I learned how to knit and want to learn how to crochet. Thank you for this great beginner’s tutorial.
This is extremely beginner friendly! I’ve been trying to learn how to crochet for 50+ years and have had some very patient teachers. But this video has me crocheting….finally! 🎉 Thank you Robin!!!
