- Suffering from food poisoning and Cpt Cody Dunn driving 10 hours overnight we managed to get on those flounder and hammered them. Cody caught around 25 and had 4 over 20 inches...my count was much less than his but I still landed 2 20inch flounder. Great day!

I got to our honey hole spot late this morning at 5:30 a.m. There were 5 boats already there. The flounder run is insane. I also think Corona virus has a lot of folks out as well. Way to hang in there even though you felt a little green around the gills. Way to tough it out. The show must go on!

Youre using a dropper hook above a weight? How heavy is the weight, please? What month too, please.
This was back during the run in late November. The can be half an ounce to an ounce if you're fishing in heavier current. It's a great setup to use & in caught a lot of flounder on it although it can be used for any fish in bottom. With heavier weight & bigger hook I've caught red Snapper on it offshore 🤙🏼

Putting together Cody's get'r dunn rig. Got the stiff rod he recommends, understand the 4/0 6th Sense hook selection, the 30 to 40 lbs. fluorocarbon he uses. But, 1) What do you recommend for the little "chatter" attachment up the line? And, 2) Is Cody using the fluorocarbon as only a leader attached to a braid main line? And, if so, what pound braid recommended?
Awesome! Sounds like you are on you way to hook up to some flounder. There's several brands of this chatter weights, we typically pick them up at academy & just tie you reel line to it & then tie your leader line to the other end. Mr Ruben Mr Cody I watched alot of y'all flounder videos and I've noticed y'all don't talk about the main key things in flounder fishing "The Bite" what to expect what it feels like how to know if it's a fish or a Crab or a sea shell
Thanks for your support but for me the main key is getting them to bite lol. I treat everything I feel like its a bite if you don't you will miss a lot of fish. A crab feels so close to a flounder bite its extremely hard to tell what it is. Now after I feel a thump, crab? Shell? Flounder? I slowly pull my line by raising my rod tip. Typically if its a shell you'll feel it give. But if you start dragging something I set the hook. It can be a crab or even a hole if you're lucky a flounder.
Any place you could recommend me for some flounder fishing from the bank or wading? Don’t fish saltwater EVER, and it’ll be my first time fishing in galveston. Anything helps! Dope ass vid bro and killer day on the water 🤟🏻
Thanks I appreciate you stopping by & watching. Bank or wade fishing for flounder? Honestly I don't do a lot of either one & right now most of all the nice size flounder have moved through the area offshore but there's always flounder to be caught just not in the same large number like you see during the run. Seawolf Park is a popular spot that can hold them all year around, you can fish from the park or wade fish that area. Any jetty rocks, or structure would hold them too. Like I said it's really hard to point you in the right direction because I normally don't target them from the bank or wade fishing after the run. 2 good wade fishing spots is Christmas Bay & San Luis Pass (Bay side) but be extremely careful. San Luis Pass has deep cuts & I wouldn't recommend going alone or without someone who's waded that area before, life jackets should be a must. 🤙🏼

We did get into it with the other boat. They came so close to us trying to pass us & fish a spot we just pulled 3 flounder from, I had to catch their boat from hitting us. Then they anchored about 20 ft from us & kept crossing our lines. There was an off camera conversation between us & them
