    lol on the ending music background to the encouraging others to be courteous to each other on the water. I agree! However, also, that background music when you are addressing a subject like that also reminds me of how a lot of those 90’s sitcoms endings when they have their “lesson time” segment. lol like Full House or Step by Step or Family Matters

    Just wanted to share a Gulp hack I accidentally discovered a few years back. Store your Gulp in the refrigerator. The material will harden a bit and not tear as easily. It's not an over night process but you will see a difference the longer you store it in the fridge 😉

      Lol thanks, I just flounder fishing. I try to learn as much as I can about them & help share what I find that works. Yea absolutely, live mullet will crush it over gulp most of the time. Most slow days on the water when you see other boats having better luck than you it's because they're using live bait. We're planning on fishing with live soon & going over some tips for using live mullet for flounder. Thanks again 🤙🏼

    Thank you for vid. I have two questions. First off when I catch flounder most of the time the bite feels like you have hooked a grocery bag, sort of a slow dragging sensation. I have never waited more than 2 seconds to set the hook and have not had issues with lost fish. So my question is about the “get er done” rig. Does the bite feel different than when fishing a single jig head?
    Second question is do you have videos of where are the best places to locate flounder in the summer months?
    I live near Trinity bay complex.
    Thanks.

    • @TexasAllWaterFishing
      @TexasAllWaterFishing  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't really give out locations and not especially for species because all kinds of fish move in & around different spots. During the flounder run its much easier to locate flounder because they're moving. Just like any fish migrating, the feed so aggressively they give up their locations. Right now, I would target them around any grassline or shallow reef early in the morning & if you can find a drop off nearby, target the ledge of the drop off as the day starts warming up. Same thing if you had an outgoing tide. I think flounder will feel that pull as the tide falls & they will move a little deeper. The bite feels the same. Sometimes, you might feel the thump, but mostly, your rod tip will load up & get heavy. Hope that helps, have a good one & tight lines

      Thanks I appreciate that. There's nothing wrong with a Carolina rig, I've caught a lot of flounder with them using live mullet but don't use wire. Fish can see wire very easily. I would tie my own though or use the geter Dunn Rig (drop shot rig) instead, it's cheaper than buying the Carolina rigs in the stores

    What size main line and leader line are you using? Thanks

    • @TexasAllWaterFishing
      @TexasAllWaterFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use recommend Tight Line Braid, it's the best Line I've used so far. I like 30lb Braid but leader line depends on what I'm fishing for, where I'm fishing and water clarity. If it's very clean water I'll fish with 20lb, and I can use up to 40lb fluorocarbon leader line. Specs have very good eye sight so if I'm using 30lb & fishing is slow & I'm targeting Specs I'll switch to 20lb. Fishing for flounder I can use up to 40lb, because I'll be fishing around structure & the 40lb doesn't seem to effect them

    “That time of the season”… which months are best? Which months are worst l?

    • @TexasAllWaterFishing
      @TexasAllWaterFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fall into winter they run offshore in big numbers and feed very aggressively. They will come back through in the spring but the numbers aren't as big but you'll still catch a few. Late Oct-Mid Dec best months, and March-May it's better but more hit and miss. Throughout the year you can find them around any structure so I'm always fishing for flounder. I won't catch huge numbers but most trips I'll catch one or two.

      Tandem always over single you offer the fish more to bite. It really doubles your odds BUT doubles your chances of getting hung up. So, a lot of times I'll toss a single to keep from having to re-tie.

YES I DO totally understand some dont like telling spots but nobody helped me when I moved here so now I help everyone. Its 1am - just off to hit the South Jetty 1st but on the boat so can nip around to chase them. Had a luvly 23" monday on a pink Pomp jig and chartreuse and white skirt. • @TexasAllWaterFishing
      @TexasAllWaterFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you I appreciate that, it's a fine line giving spots. I have ppl that are thankful & others that get mad. I have done a handful of spot giving videos but if I'm on a boat then it's not my location to give. The best advice I can give is time on the water, use Google Maps, and if you can afford it pay for a guided trip. Cpt Cody who I go out with a lot is a guide at Sea Star Base Galveston (nonprofit) and I would never give a location he takes me to no matter how popular it is. I often fish out of a kayak and again I have friends that tournament fish a lot of same waters I kayak, so again it's very difficult to just give up locations. I have a lot to consider & if you start to be known as someone who "burns" spots that can also effect sponsorship & pro staff opprintuinty because they often ask their other pro staff members about your character. So yes, I just try to stay out of it & keep a tight lip. Personally I would share everywhere I fish but I have to consider all sides. Good luck to you, I hope you get on them today 💯🤙🏼

    • @ChewingToons
      @ChewingToons 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TexasAllWaterFishing Ah I get your point about sponsorship. cant beat just going to spots and trying what the locals do. Tho I did hire a charter the 1st time I went out as I knew nothing at all about the area. It was a great help as we hit 6 or 7 spots I still visit.

    I cannot comprehend someone being so rude, selfish, and unsportsmanlike, as to crowd you in a spot you are fishing. That's just unacceptable. Unfortunately, in today's world, verbal altercations can lead to violence with some people. I mean it's just fishing! There's absolutely no need or call for such behavior. It's a sad statement on today's uncivil society.

    How does “climate change” only affect the Texas flounder limits and not the rest of the gulf coast? Why isn’t this universal amongst the gulf states? I can’t speak for the rest of Texas but the upper gulf coast has had awesome recreational catches of flounder the last few years. Don’t see any need in this closure for November.

    • @TexasAllWaterFishing
      @TexasAllWaterFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm really not sure, the only thing I can think of is the amount of fishing pressure we put on the flounder around Houston/ Galveston during the run. Houston's popular is 2.3 million (not that everyone fished) and Louisiana the whole state is 4.67 million. A lot more people fishing the run here in Texas vs any other state around the gulf. That's really the only reason I can think of

    • @magad419
      @magad419 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TexasAllWaterFishing Thats not the reason the TPWD gave for the closure tho. gulf waters changed by 1 degree hotter is their reasoning due to "climate change". because flounder wont spawn in the hotter temps. but shouldn't this affect all gulf flounder? I'm sure "climate change is not state specific The open session for arguments got cancelled due to covid protocols. we will never get November back. love your channel by the way. just tired of the recreational angler getting the restrictions while the commercial "for profits" get free reign. as usual.
