    MY STORY:
    When I was an undergrad nutrition student at Boston University, my digestive health issues were at their worst. I remember standing in the grocery store re-reading the label on a box of crackers, filled with overwhelm and confusion. I felt totally lost as to what to eat or how to eat due to my digestive issues. After dozens of doctor appointments, ER visits, and medical tests, my anxiety was at an all-time high and my list of “safe foods” was dwindling every day. When my doctors were at a loss for advice and my condition was not improving - I knew I needed to take my healing into my own hands.
    When I finally realized that my mind and gut were connected - everything changed. I prioritized self-care and mindfulness practices in order to pull myself out of constant “fight or flight mode”. Instead of restricting, I started nourishing my gut and living my life again. Much to my surprise, my digestive system responded and began to heal. Through the power of individualized nutrition and lifestyle changes, my health (and my life) transformed.
    Fast forward to today - I’m a Gut Health Registered Dietitian and recovered from severe IBS/GERD. My approach to nutrition counseling is rooted in science and built on the foundation that everyone has unique nutrition and lifestyle needs. It’s my mission (and greatest joy) to help you discover your root causes of imbalance, and share with you evidence-based, integrative wellness tools - so you too can heal your gut, repair your relationship with food, and live your absolute best life.

    Thank you for all the great info. I followed this diet about 2 years ago. While it was very strict I was so sick with LPR that I would have done just about anything. This diet worked wonders for me. I could hardly swallow food before I started and was having breathing issues. I lost 19 pounds because I was eating so healthy making all of my own foods from scratch and strictly following portions and making sure to not overeat. I am no longer in the maintenance phase and added other foods back in that don’t irritate my reflux.

    Thank you Molly! I found you a couple months after I completed the 28 day healing process in the Acid Watcher Diet. Between you and the diet, I’m almost back to normal in my eating habits. Yes, I limit the trigger foods you mentioned and I was able to wean myself off the medication I was on. I don’t stress out as much as I used to about what I eat. I knew there had to be more information out there on how to manage, GERD, acid reflux, gastritis and LPR. Thank you again and please keep up the great work you are doing. 🙌🙌🙌

    He has a newer book out and an acid watcher group on Facebook with more information about the diet. The acid watcher diet was the only thing that helped my lpr. Lpr made me weigh 99lbs due to dysphagia. Now Im 115lbs and can swallow again due to this diet. I never thought I could support a pregnancy due to living off of liquids and now I have a toddler.

      The acid watcher diet is helping me too, I'm still following it a year and a half later I'm super strict bc anything else even maintenance foods bother me. It's boring eating the way I do, but it has healed me. If I do have a bit of anything, even a bite I get reflux bad so I can't branch out yet

    Thank you very much Molly. I have Interstitial Cystitis and GERD and it's very difficult. I am not careful enough with my food choices but I try. It's very stressful. I am finding on support sights that the Acid Watcher followers are overwhelming because they take it extremely seriously. I do know a very respected dietician who wrote a blog about acid in acid out so I was doubtful about the focus on the PH of all foods. We have to live! Again thank you.

    Thanks for the video. I've known for some time that chocolate, caffeine, tomato sauce, raw onions, and rich meals are some of the worst triggers for me, but I was not expecting a Barrett's Esophagus diagnosis at 38...sadly, despite watching what I eat and maintaining a healthy weight, acid reflux plagues my mom's side of the family. My stomach has gotten even more sensitive with age, so I'm watching videos like yours for advice.

    I appreciate this video 😊. However, just because someone is a dietitian (this statement is not referring to you directly) it does not mean they are aware of every healing practice. I have a good friend who is a dietitian and she had no clue what I was speaking about when I asked her about an acid reflux diet and a low histamine diet. So it’s really all about the individual healthcare provider. Dr. Aviv is excellent. You are excellent as well. But it’s because both of you study this particular area of medicine. Dr. Aviv is more knowledgeable than my friend who is an actual dietitian lol. So I wouldn’t let a professional title decide how much a person should be able to speak on the subject.

    I have been following that diet 7 mths and have lost almost 40lbs, my symptoms are so much better! However! I must stick to those foods, if not symptoms come back, also if i am stressed. I recently had an endoscopy and found out i have a small hiatal hernia 😮…so honestly cutting out everything processed, sugars, spices, coffee, chocolate has been tremendously helpful to me! Eating naturally is key, if it doesn’t grow from mother earth or walk on 2/4 legs or swim..i don’t eat it, that’s basically it. Breads for me is only Ezekiel bread. I dont eat butter or margerine either, i have accustomed myself not to, almond butter is ok. Lots and lots of oatmeal! Only fruits for me is pears, bananas, melons. I am nEver hungry, you are not deprived in this diet, its just smaller meals more often in my case. This diet works! And i agree with you with everything you mentioned in this video ❤ Its ruff to get used to for sure but the benefits outway it. And once you are used to it, you cant go back and wont want to either. Best of luck!

    Do you think eustschian tube issues from can be from lpr? I have no burning throat. I experience white throthy mucus in mornings and ear probkems: thank you😊

    • @SpicySpaniel
      @SpicySpaniel หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely, I have LPR and my symptoms were mainly sinusitis, mucus, coughing and chest problems. The first symptoms were dizziness which only lasted 4 weeks and I read the reflux can reach the upper esophagus and affect the eustachian tubed. Mine was treated as a sinus issues by ENT for 4 months and no treatment worked. Once I linked it to LPR and changed my lifestyle it started to improve. PPIs really help with the healing too although I am not planning on long term use.

    I also found some contradictions between his food list and the healing recipes and what he wrote. He specifically mentions carob (which I love) in the writing and in recipes but it’s not on the list. Same with raisins and a couple other things. I’m still giving it a shot but I’m not restricting those things or some of the fruits that I can pair with other foods.

      I wonder that, too. I’ve been having dizziness or lightheadedness every day for several months. It’s only associated with moving my head or walking, and it makes me momentarily feel like I’m going to lose my balance. It started around the same time as my chronic sore throat and all my other LPR symptoms.

I read the book and went to Nyc to see the doctor, worked a little but really nutritional information was missing for me.
