I just double checked my 201 and I had the thread coming off countercloskwise. I've been using it wrong like that for some time with no problems. I'm not sure what difference it makes but suspect the problem arises when sewing fast then coming to a sudden stop. It may cause the thread/bobbin to over rotate. Got any ideas what difference it makes?
