Love, love, love what you guys do with the game! The constant updates make this a shining example of what early access should be! I originally pirated the game because it looked interesting and been burned too many times by early access. But with the steady stream of updates I knew this was something you worked hard on and continue to do so. Bought it full price. No regrets. I've convinced many others to buy it too! Keep up the good work!
Seeing all those update videos is amazing. I started Subnautica end of last december, and finished the main quest a few weeks ago (couldn't resolve myself to definively leave 4546B yet), and everything I thought were inherent to the game, that I thought were here since the beginning have been added along the way instead, and I can't say if it's best to discover the game with everything already there or if it would have been better to be here since the beginning and see the game evolve month after month. Anyway Subnautica was a major experience in my gaming life, it's been years since a game hasn't got me hooked this hard without any cheap trick like dailys and weekly missions and bonuses to make you feel a fake feeling of progression.
I wish they added more fish and plants. I feel like the biodiversity is the most important part of this game and they haven't added any fish or plants in a long time

CrazyAceking I'm not.. when I first got the game I absolutely loved exploring and discovering all of the creatures. But once I started finding new biomes I realized there only one species of fish with each biome with is really unfortunate. I wish there was just more variety in each biome it would add so much to the game

I have both the PC and Xbox One versions. I love the updates, but I really feel like optimization for the Xbox One is sorely lacking. Once you have a base and a vehicle, it's almost unplayable.
nicolo mangione optimization always comes last in game development. since new content always introduces new bugs and issues, it's counter productive to work on streamlining before all the new content is in the game. they've set aside 3 full months right before release (so July-September) for optimization. you'll get your fixes, don't worry. you just might have to wait longer

So in the end, you just shipped the massively nerfed version. Unless you add some actual benefits to using it there's literally 0 reason to build one. It takes so much time to build a Cyclops (and upgrade it to so it doesn't just die and is at least marginally useful. Lockers, beds, fabricators, plants etc. take resources too) that it's more efficient to just entirely skip it, unless you're going to play in the same world for 100+ hours and move your entire base multiple times. P.S. Could you please stop sticking the sonar on everything? Or at least make it not an upgrade slot? Yes it looks cool, but it's not actually useful for anything, so it's never going to be worth an upgrade slot.
Just so we're clear, I'm not complaining that it isn't invulnerable (though I still think nothing smaller than a reaper should be able to damage it). I'm just complaining that the benefits of having a cyclops are no longer large enough to warrant contributing time to building it.
Dude, you are complaining about things being useless, when they are just meant to be cool. The cyclops, while can be dwarfed by vehicles like the seamoth in terms of exploring, is a really damn cool thing that new players want to try and spend the time to get, and it is still the same with returning players. The Cyclops is just one of those things that defines the game and is a goal for most people. It also acts as a mobile base so if people prefer playing it that way then that is fine. And for the sonar. Why not put it on everything? It is really cool. It is completely optional if you want it, same being with the cyclops, and players who are new probably would like to try it out and experience it. They don't care if it took them a little bit of time to make. The game is about fun, and to be honest the sonar is fun and cool. So why complain about things that YOU don't like and won't build because they are quote on quote "useless"? The game is about fun and enjoying it as much as you can, and to many players, that is exploring the ocean in a huge sci-fi submarine. So just let people do what they want, if it is fun then nothing is useless.
From a game design perspective anything that requires this much investment is going to need a little more than just "Its cool" to warrant its inclusion.
But it does have it's uses. It acts as a mobile base, a way to bring your other vehicles around, a way to get down to deeper depths, a way to feel safer, a way to feel stronger, a goal for players, and a really cool machine that the game is known for.
I love you guys, you could actually revive the bad name of early access. You are a prime example of how it's done right! can't wait for the full story release!
I cant wait for the full release patch. ive been holding off on playing so I can get the whole story when I play through this. so far one of the best survival games out there!
I hope a subnautica 2.0 comes out, with a new survivor being stranded there, new technology, new creatures, a larger world, and a new questline. Subnautica was by far one of my favorite open world games for it's immense story

Greatest game ever! They need to have three of the little wiring boxes like in the escape pod in the engine room of the Cyclops, with one representing each major system. And when you take damage, there's a chance that circuitry will break and stop that system until it's repaired. I hope the developers see this!

There was storage on the rocket which you wouldn't need if it's the end of the game unless something ( the sea emperor) grabs you and pulls you back down because it wants to get off of the planet too, but because the sea emperor pretty much keeps the planet together it can't go but it's kids could. Linefour The only reason that is stopping me and 4 other friends from buying the game is lack of multiplayer I know for a fact that there are a ton that feel the same way.
Noah Carlow in the far future the team might make a Totally new version of subnautica for multiplayer, you will of course pay for this (~$20) because of ALL the Hard work that would go into it.

right now they are still in the building blocks stage but after that a console port is very likely
Its a plan to release it on PS4 but right now they are trying to finish the main game.
I can't tell what's better, the updates themselves, or the update videos that accompany them.
So in the end, you just shipped the massively nerfed version.
Unless you add some actual benefits to using it there's literally 0 reason to build one. It takes so much time to build a Cyclops (and upgrade it to so it doesn't just die and is at least marginally useful. Lockers, beds, fabricators, plants etc. take resources too) that it's more efficient to just entirely skip it, unless you're going to play in the same world for 100+ hours and move your entire base multiple times.
P.S. Could you please stop sticking the sonar on everything? Or at least make it not an upgrade slot? Yes it looks cool, but it's not actually useful for anything, so it's never going to be worth an upgrade slot.
Just so we're clear, I'm not complaining that it isn't invulnerable (though I still think nothing smaller than a reaper should be able to damage it). I'm just complaining that the benefits of having a cyclops are no longer large enough to warrant contributing time to building it.
Dude, you are complaining about things being useless, when they are just meant to be cool. The cyclops, while can be dwarfed by vehicles like the seamoth in terms of exploring, is a really damn cool thing that new players want to try and spend the time to get, and it is still the same with returning players. The Cyclops is just one of those things that defines the game and is a goal for most people. It also acts as a mobile base so if people prefer playing it that way then that is fine.
And for the sonar. Why not put it on everything? It is really cool. It is completely optional if you want it, same being with the cyclops, and players who are new probably would like to try it out and experience it. They don't care if it took them a little bit of time to make. The game is about fun, and to be honest the sonar is fun and cool. So why complain about things that YOU don't like and won't build because they are quote on quote "useless"?
The game is about fun and enjoying it as much as you can, and to many players, that is exploring the ocean in a huge sci-fi submarine. So just let people do what they want, if it is fun then nothing is useless.
From a game design perspective anything that requires this much investment is going to need a little more than just "Its cool" to warrant its inclusion.
But it does have it's uses. It acts as a mobile base, a way to bring your other vehicles around, a way to get down to deeper depths, a way to feel safer, a way to feel stronger, a goal for players, and a really cool machine that the game is known for.

You see, there was no other survivors from the auora crash, and co-op/multiplayer would directly take away from that.

I really liked some of the elements of the old HUD, especially the 3D feel to it. Hope its not too late to bring it back

By far the best early access game I ever bought. Don't regret a single penny of it this game just keeps getting better and better!
I hope a subnautica 2.0 comes out, with a new survivor being stranded there, new technology, new creatures, a larger world, and a new questline.
Subnautica was by far one of my favorite open world games for it's immense story

Greatest game ever! They need to have three of the little wiring boxes like in the escape pod in the engine room of the Cyclops, with one representing each major system. And when you take damage, there's a chance that circuitry will break and stop that system until it's repaired. I hope the developers see this!

There was storage on the rocket which you wouldn't need if it's the end of the game unless something ( the sea emperor) grabs you and pulls you back down because it wants to get off of the planet too, but because the sea emperor pretty much keeps the planet together it can't go but it's kids could. And they're what's at the bottom of our planet

P.S. when subnautica V1.0 comes out, and there isn't everything you wanted in it, don't worry, because they can update the game, I mean, the game is "Technically" not even out, it's early access. They can and will update the game with new "Items, Creatures, and biomes" There is concrete evidence, and you can expect biomes like the Lily Pad Islands, Ghost island (and island on the far side of the aurora that isn't real(an illusion) Twisty bridges with new creatures just for that biome, The ghost Leviathan, DLC (Free) like a I Pod to play the Subnautica soundtrack, New decorations, WEATHER!!! etc;
