    As a musician for many years I have performed live for many audiences. Now that I'm retired I find I don't want to travel anymore. So I decided this year to become a puppeteer and create puppet music video's of the many songs I wrote and collaborated with others by using my talents, but changing my character to a puppet. (less chance of paparazzi following me to take my pic) Have done lots of research to get a good video editor to help me produce some excellent quality videos to share with everyone. I loved your tutorial. You speak well. Plain and clear and have showed me how to produce a video using Shotcut. Used it a few times and watched other tutorials, but yours seemed to be more fluid in translation and application. I have a clearer understanding of the program.
    Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

      Jesse Mendez Thanks. Glad my video helped you. Look forward to your channel. I see some musicians doing well on TH-cam. There are so many options eg you can teach music, tips for the new live musician etc. once you learn a bit of video editing.

    This tutorial did actually help me, quite a bit. The ShotCut user interface is not intuitive, IMO... so this is exactly what I needed. Thank you for creating it!

      David McKee Glad the video helped. A walk though helps most people when it comes to video editors. Once you use in for a few hours, it will get easier.

      I agree the interface is ANNOYINGLY counterintuitive, and the lead developer is not exactly flexible about that.

    This video answered every single question I had about how to do what I wanted to do: How to create a separate audio file and move audio from one clip to this new channel; how to create clips so that I could show different parts of the two videos I wanted to combine; how to add text, and more. Fantastic! Thank you so much.

    Thank you so much. You walk the viewer through it to where we can understand. I'm a 71 year old disabled gal who has so much time available and would like to learn how to edit video. I can't afford to pay for the software since I am only bringing in my monthly SocSec checks I am forced to use free programs.. I'm new to this stuff but so very confused and your tutorial got me all the more interested.

    This program is very impressive! There is lots to learn. I have two questions. The first is how do I make titles pages? And, how do I take a completed MP4 file and burn a video from it?

    Thank you for sharing this. I am new to Shotcut so it is a little intimidating to use. I have learnt some new things from your video. I do find the add text feature odd, for example you adjust the size of text etc to get it to look right then if you use the preset to get it to move in etc, it changes back all your text so you have to re format it again. Unless of course I am missing something?

    • @JamesWoo
      @JamesWoo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you to use the preset for keyframes after setting the text box size, it resets. You can set the keyframes manually

    More Questions: How can I change the order of the video clips and how can I cut portions of a clip in timeline?

    • @DrunkenUFOPilot
      @DrunkenUFOPilot 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just left-button mouse drag clips around within the timeline to where you like. Maybe add a new video track to make room to put clips. To cut a clip, put the cursor in the timeline to where you want, click on the clip to select it, then click the icon that looks like an open book. Suddenly, you have two clips made from the original one.

    Is there a way to show which clip you imported is on your timeline? If i have a sort of big number of clips imported, it's hard to know which one has been added to timeline!
    Also is there a way for the audio not to play for a split second when you are moving the tracking arrow back and forward? It's a little annoying

    This is wonderful, Thank you James. Let me ask you, where can I get arrows and smileys and other such things in PNG format to overlay on my videos without having to pay or give attribute etc. ?? Is there such a place. All I can find is ones that require attribution and/or payment. Any help would be great..
