I am hoping that professional editors are watching these small tutorials. If you don’t use, premier pro, final cut, DaVinci, then you are looked down on. Good job. I hoping the creators of shotcut are more than happy you are making these videos for them.
Thanks for yets another great tutoral, one little tip to speed up things is copy the mask from track 1 when complete and insert it on track 2 and just adjust the horizontal to fill the left side. and save the masks as preset to make it very fast to add it to another project. Another thing to do is adding an SPR filter to move the most import part of the video into the area being shown on each track.
Great add on. There are many ways to implement this technique, including using a mask from file. This is just to get everyone started and inspire people.
You the the Ben, i have learned more from 3--4 of your videos than 2 dozen of these put out by people that knows less than i do but they get on you tube and post useless videos, thanks again, hey i still want those LUTS

I watched this first video...and now I am a big big fan of you....there are hundreds of tutorials on premiere pro...but for free software like shotcut and kdenlive only basic tutorial videos are available. You are solving a big pain point...keep posting these awesome videos so that we can improve our videos...if you use kdenlive make videos on that too because there are just basic editing videos on youtube..Regards
Your tutorials are the best Ben. Thanks so much for another great effect and idea. One thing I did notice is you left out showing the girl sitting on the beach. It was just the sand showing. LOL

Nice video. One other way to achieve this quickly is to copy and paste the mask setting on the third track. I would also say that you need to get the part of the video you actually want to be in the shot, so it would have been good to include this too.
Thank you for another awesome lesson but I noticed that instead of intersecting the second video on the lower cross grid it must on the top cross grid to make it the same to the first video.
@@BenEspanto Yep; I've subscribed. If you have the stats for it, you should see an extra subscriber from England. Thanks for the link. :) I aim to study your videos to help with the editing of my TH-cam sitcom "Wilma's Housemates". By way of thanks, I have some endorsements for you: Brian DePalma's direction in 2002's Femme Fatale, and some good TV series for you: Blake's 7 and Babylon 5. BTW, B5 will be remade by J Michael Staczynski soon. Some good directing books by Steven D Katz: "Shot by Shot" and "Cinematic Motion: a Workshop for Staging Scenes".
Great video as always Ben - I'm new to Shotcut so very informative. In this case I wonder if it's even worth carefully setting the width/position of your masks before skewing; it seems that any part of the mask out-of-frame has no effect, wouldn't it be quicker to make your masks much larger than you think you'll need then move them far enough into the frame the get the job done? Now for a challenge.. If you start with just the middle video filling the frame, then slide the right-hand mask in from the top, then slide the left-hand mask in from the bottom to arrive at the result you have - then slide first the rightmost mask, then the middle mask off-frame to the right leaving just the leftmost video filling the frame. That would be very Dallas, Falcon's Crest, Kojak etc.
Thanks again for another great video, I use a lot of your tutorials, as well as tweaking them and my own ideas to have fun making videos in my channel. Many thanks
Quick tip, notice there are no units on the bars, rather percentages. I managed to do a 4 screen split with exact measurements by literally using the percentage (i.e. 25%, 75% and so on). So instead of using the scroll wheel, you could have just don 33.33%, 66.66% and 100% or something along those lines.
Great tutorial. I am back after one year and start working on learning video editing. Question for this kind of split screen. Is there any way can we rotate diagonal line left to right during this clip. Like it start from left and move to right so our angle change to give more effect.
