I'm a hard rock guitarist, but I picked up the fiddle and started learning because of this girl. They play both from, and speak to the soul.

Emily is absolutely angelic in these early days. She radiates joy. I like Andrew with more maturity as a performer later on; more confidence and experience. Having raised three daughters, Emily really touches my heart in these earlier performances.

It's stunning to me... the way these songs have grown into my life. At first no, I don't like slow music like this... and it took me 2 years. Now I am obsessing over their songs, listening for usually 1 or 2 hours per day. There are some songs that are so mature, where the harmonies are so incredibly synchronized, the mandolin and fiddle solos are simply the best. Perfectly refined, the ripest fruit, hardly anyone every achieves this level of mastery. Add a little humor, and I am forever spellbound.
They look so happy here and like they are having a lot of fun. I love seeing their smiles and the hints of infatuation between them.
Imagine being their child and watching this someday. How sweet can a couple be!

Whoever the sound guy is unbelievable because this is probably the clearest cleanest live performance I've heard of any band on TH-cam Bravo sound guy
listen to the other recordings they have done...consistently top shelf audio....what a great band!
Pretty much anything they’ve done sounds great because they produce lovely sounds on quality instruments, sing great, and usually just use somewhere between 1 and 4 good mics to amplify themselves. These days on bigger stages the guitar is run direct, but that’s about it.
Looking back at this old video shows their talent much more then there 2021 music, all in all I think I enjoy this older stuff. Thanks for sharing 🎶😉🎶
I only discovered MO in January 2019, late to the party. Ever since, I simply can't get enough of these two. I've watched practically every TH-cam video of theirs, but somehow missed this one. My comment is that Emily looks more beautiful here than anywhere I have ever seen, and in 2010 is already giving those loving glances to Andrew. He is a very, very lucky man!

These two should be in the North Carolina tourism brochure. Never thought higher of the Tarheel State since bumping into Mandolin Orange.
2017. I keep coming back to this raw talent - wonderful.
I understand they just formed the band in 2009 and it's amazing how good they are right from the start. I just 'discovered' them a month or so ago singing Boots of Spanish Leather, best cover of that song I've heard, even better than Dylan's original. I originally had music going in the background when one of their songs came on, with Emily doing a solo, and at first I thought it was something new from Gillian Welch and David Rawlings and then I looked at the TV and saw them, well, and became a fan right then and there.
is it any wonder why these two fell in love and married?! Their chemistry is palpable and they are so adorable. Their instruments are extensions of their bodies. Great early performance. Thanks for posting!
It is so funny in 2022 to know we get to experience 10 or 12 years ago, and hear heart reaching thoughts and of course music, from younger folks. Thank you Emily and Andrew!

I "stumbled upon this" too. Thank God! Andrew and Emily are the real deal, I can't remember the last band that just took me for the ride with them - through every song - each one as good as the last. They played the Newport Folk Festival this year, and my daughter-in-law bought tickets for us to go see them about 60 miles away. I can't wait!
Only just discovered them. On all levels this is one of best concerts on You Tube. They compliment each other so well. Another Seed reminds me of Tim Hardin. They could probably cover anything but something like Lady Came From Baltimore might be nice.
Watched them in Dublin earlier supporting Chatham County Line
Amazing duo, beautiful harmonies, lovely playing and a magical set of songs. Bought their 3 albums and going to play them all weekend (when it arrives)
