Emily is absolutely angelic in these early days. She radiates joy. I like Andrew with more maturity as a performer later on; more confidence and experience. Having raised three daughters, Emily really touches my heart in these earlier performances.
Thank God they met and married...If two people were meant to be together...it is these two. The music they make is some of the most beautiful in the world. (It must soothe even Gods ear's....)
"If we tune a lot between songs, it's because we're out of tune." "We also tune a lot on the album." They don't take themselves too seriously while still being committed to their vision. Love it!
It's stunning to me... the way these songs have grown into my life. At first no, I don't like slow music like this... and it took me 2 years. Now I am obsessing over their songs, listening for usually 1 or 2 hours per day. There are some songs that are so mature, where the harmonies are so incredibly synchronized, the mandolin and fiddle solos are simply the best. Perfectly refined, the ripest fruit, hardly anyone every achieves this level of mastery. Add a little humor, and I am forever spellbound.
I only discovered MO in January 2019, late to the party. Ever since, I simply can't get enough of these two. I've watched practically every TH-cam video of theirs, but somehow missed this one. My comment is that Emily looks more beautiful here than anywhere I have ever seen, and in 2010 is already giving those loving glances to Andrew. He is a very, very lucky man!

The mellowy moonlight caressing the breeze, Longfellowy moonlight, a book of memories. Hiawatha's lullaby, there's the moon and here am I. It is so funny in 2022 to know we get to experience 10 or 12 years ago, and hear heart reaching thoughts and of course music, from younger folks. Thank you Emily and Andrew!
Pretty much anything they’ve done sounds great because they produce lovely sounds on quality instruments, sing great, and usually just use somewhere between 1 and 4 good mics to amplify themselves. These days on bigger stages the guitar is run direct, but that’s about it.
I understand they just formed the band in 2009 and it's amazing how good they are right from the start. I just 'discovered' them a month or so ago singing Boots of Spanish Leather, best cover of that song I've heard, even better than Dylan's original. I originally had music going in the background when one of their songs came on, with Emily doing a solo, and at first I thought it was something new from Gillian Welch and David Rawlings and then I looked at the TV and saw them, well, and became a fan right then and there.
is it any wonder why these two fell in love and married?! Their chemistry is palpable and they are so adorable. Their instruments are extensions of their bodies. Great early performance. Thanks for posting!
My husband and I love your music. We just lost my mother. I know it’s not exactly the same, but golden embers really helped us to come to terms with the fact that everyone dies. Our family grew further together after losing her. Christ Jesus saves us all. So we can bear the loss of loved ones. Thank you for all your music!
Been wildly in love with these two for years. I would do anything to play and sing with her. She's so God damn beautiful! Glad to see they're finally getting some decent playback after all the work they've put in over the years! Respect.

I "stumbled upon this" too. Thank God! Andrew and Emily are the real deal, I can't remember the last band that just took me for the ride with them - through every song - each one as good as the last. They played the Newport Folk Festival this year, and my daughter-in-law bought tickets for us to go see them about 60 miles away. I can't wait!
Watched them in Dublin earlier supporting Chatham County Line Amazing duo, beautiful harmonies, lovely playing and a magical set of songs. Bought their 3 albums and going to play them all weekend (when it arrives) Catch them live if you can - wonderful Great post 🆒
Only just discovered them. On all levels this is one of best concerts on You Tube. They compliment each other so well. Another Seed reminds me of Tim Hardin. They could probably cover anything but something like Lady Came From Baltimore might be nice.

I made a general search looking for mandolin instruction and found Mandolin Orange. So glad I did! What wonderful music. Maybe someday I'll make some music, too.
Wonderful! so lovely and so charming!! Phantastic music, with a lot of feeling and joy. And you both are so nice guys, - most I like the lovely scene at 17:30, when she reminds him, how the lyrics start ;-)
Had the pleasure of seeing them at the Tractor Tavern in Ballard, WA last month. Exceptional! Amazing singers, songwriters and musicians! Really down to earth and humble as well. Can't wait for them to return to the NW!
I guess I'm new, I always wondered if they were siblings, married, or what? I've also seen the guitarist in there band looking at her that way. She sings like an angel and so beautiful. They make a great couple.❤❤🎉🎉🎉

Totally, Emily an adorable gem
I just love the way she looks at him
Yes, true love's found indeed :)
It is amazing isn't it! Ive noticed this in all of their live performances.
Yes, it's a part of their magic. Love always makes the music better!
me encanta
She looks at him the way I look at cake
I'm a hard rock guitarist, but I picked up the fiddle and started learning because of this girl. They play both from, and speak to the soul.
She made me learn fiddle too
Sweet music..
She is my current inspiration and direction in re-learning the violin/ fiddle!
Awesome Kevin. I play mandolin, learning some of these here riffs, and I sing HER part.Oh my gosh these delicious harmonies, absolute top shelf
@@pylgrym4148 100% agreed. They evoke so much emotion with their music. Hoping to see them in concert soon.

They are so young here, this is so cool to see! Such incredible music they've created for over a decade now!
Do you know how young? :)
@@lordbuddybear early 20s cause they turned 30 in 2017 I think
It’s nice to see the joy they get from each other - indicated by their visual cues and communications.
These two were meant to sing together.. it is magic

I just can't stop smiling when I listen to them play. It's so pure, I can't wait to see them play in real life.

Amazing how they are just as good 10 years ago!
They look so happy here and like they are having a lot of fun. I love seeing their smiles and the hints of infatuation between them.

Looking back at this old video shows their talent much more then there 2021 music, all in all I think I enjoy this older stuff. Thanks for sharing 🎶😉🎶
Whoever the sound guy is unbelievable because this is probably the clearest cleanest live performance I've heard of any band on TH-cam Bravo sound guy
listen to the other recordings they have done...consistently top shelf audio....what a great band!
