    Final Fantasy has featured some fantastic bosses throughout the years... but some have been a bit more persistent than others. In the earlier games, there were bosses such as the Four Fiends and General Borghen, but as the franchise built out, the challenge has become more pronounced.
    Gilgamesh acted as the trail-blazer in this regard, appearing in six fights throughout Final Fantasy V and there have been plenty of devlish recurring bosses that have appeared since, with some even transcending their initial game, like Sephiroth in Final Fantasy 7.
    ►KEY POINTS WITHIN THIS VIDEO
    1. Seifer Boss Fight Final Fantasy 8
    2. Beatrix Boss Fight Final Fantasy 9
    3. Seymour Boss Fight Final Fantasy X
    4. Sephiroth Boss Fight (Final Fantasy VII, Crisis Core, Final Fantasy 7 Remake)
    5. Caius Ballad Boss Fight Final Fantasy 13-2
    6. Borghen Boss Fight Final Fantasy 2

    Eventually I can see the Cloud of Darkness showing up on one of these lists. It's the first Final Fantasy end boss to be featured in multiple numbered sequels. Following it's appearance in FFIII, the Cloud of Darkness shows up as the Primary Antagonist of Final Fantasy XI's Rhapsodies of Vana'diel expansion (even becoming the final boss of the entire game as a whole.) As well as Final Fantasy XIV as the main antagonist of the Crystal Tower raid.

    what if SE make a last dissidia game, where the ultimate boss is revealed to be gilgamesh all along, because he literally messed up all other worlds ripping every existence along the way, so all final fantasy protagonists and antagonists (yes even them) ganged up in the final world of dissidia, against him, in order to "reclaim" the existence of their fallen worlds.

  • @kevind3974
    @kevind3974 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Gilgamesh literally came back so much it’s the literal reason why he can show up in the other games.
    Gets pushed into the time stream ends up living a life as if he’s lost in his own spidervers. Sometimes he’s human, sometimes he’s a monster, sometimes he’s a bit of both and got six arms for some reason and other times he has no idea where who or what he is all he know is that wants a sword for some reason.
    Hell even in disaria where the story was people getting dragged into the multiverse, this dude just walks in lost as fuck with no idea how he got their as if he was zero from one piece tasked with walking in a straight line. Everyone else was summoned by god.

    Replaying FF8 recently, I found myself wondering if Cid intentionally kept Seifer from becoming SeeD because he was worried that Seifer would be vulnerable to Ultimecia's temptations, given that he forgave Squall, Zell and Selphie for also breaking orders and leaving their posts (Selphie may have had special permission granted in the moment though), and given the fact that Garden's whole purpose was to raise the orphanage children specifically to fight Ultimecia. There are also moments throughout the game where the characters make poor judgements and break code, most notably Quistis' team leaving their post in Deiling City, and they're never reprimanded for it.

    • @forevermagus7706

      Squall and Zell were following the squad leaders orders. So if anything they proved that they will follow any order making them more valuable to the garden.

      No i disagree, Seifer definitely brought that upon himself. I don’t think it was a master plan of Cid’s I think it was just the fact that Seifer had a really bad reputation. Also Squall and Zell were just following orders which is a big standard within the Garden. And Selphie is a messenger so I think she had permission

    Something that just occurred to me is that only games up to FF7 had a decent variety in the character's ages and backgrounds. FF7 was actually a pretty inclusive game with main characters ranging from 16 to almost 60. It seems like most of the games since 7 have tried to focus on the younger market by including younger characters. I don't even know if it works because FF7 smashed their records and expectations. It's literally the only reason the franchise sells so well today.

    But what about "Uncle Ulty"?
    Hell, even Kefka can fit the bill. He might not have been a boss fight in the imperial camp but you do fight him multiple times there. You can technically even kill him in each fight too. Then there's the fight for the Esper in Narshe and finally the final boss fight. You do kinda fight him again at the door to the sealed gate but it only uses the battle scene and you're never fast enough to get a turn before the Espers come crashing through.

For those unfamiliar with this antagonist she appears as the main story end boss for 1.0 which also had a hard mode, appears again as part of a raid series in 2.0 with 2 difficulties, appears again in 4.0 as part of an ultimate encounter, and appears again in 5.0 as part of the Ruby Weapon trial fight, also with 2 difficulties.

    Caius is honestly my favorite antagonist in the whole series since everything he does is all at once weirdly relatable, heartbreakingly human, and pretty sympathetic in his motivations.
    Oh, and unlike every other Big Bad in the series...
    You never really decisively defeat him in any meaningful way... and he gets what he wants.
    He destroys all of time....
    AND still manages to save Yeul in the end.
    Oh, and he is literally unkillable in every way possible.
    Even across multiple timelines.
    Caius is so utterly broken that it's not even funny and calling him OP would be an understatement.

      What's so great about Gilgamesh is how well he can play both role of serious encounter and comic relief.
      In his first game appearance, he goes from intimidating to comical to heartwarming/tragic.
      Those battles serves to develop your relationship with him, and see it evolve as he gain respect for your skills.

      He’s also usually holding back or is literally dumb in that incarnation we meet him. Example he’s dumb as a brick in 12, and he’s massively holding back in online.
      The thing is when he’s actually serious we get things like 14 or class zero and he’s a fucking monster in those games.

  • @bayardkyyako7427
    @bayardkyyako7427 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sephiroth having 9 appearances is stretching it a bit, I consider the final battle in 7 one fight, you don't fight one form and then get time to regroup before the other two, or two then regroup, it's all one battle. Similar to how in KH2 you fight Xemnas at the end and even though battles are seperated by cutscenes, you don't get time to check your items and equipment in between, so it's all one fight in the war.

Gilgamesh and Diabolos that the Warrior of Light has had to contest with so many times, and that Zenos actually finds purpose in his life because he is filled with so much enjoyment fighting the WOL.

    Wait wait wait, Sephiroth only died once, when cloud threw him down the mako reactor. Everything Sephiroth after that was just a clone, except maybe Bizarro-/Safer-Sephiroth, but he still was dead when we fought those versions. Ok, we don't know about the remake, but if he would be sephiroth's real body the story would be COMPLETELY different.

    • @barneyclarke7051
      @barneyclarke7051 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It was mostly Jenova, but Sephiroth was controlling Jenova as proxy through the lifestream (source: books). The final, final stand-off that occurs in Cloud's mind is considered to be the real Sephiroth. So I would say that while only once has the real Sephiroth body been fought, Sephiroth himself has been fought many times.

    • @FragmentedR_YT
      @FragmentedR_YT 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you suggesting that the body we see encased in the Northern Crater is a clone? I thought it was clear that Sephiroth didn’t die in the lifestream, but was still in the crater recovering for the past 5 years.

    What was even more impressive about Seifer was that he had no junctions, had no para-magic, and fought by himself... REPEATEDLY.
    Objectively, had Seifer dueled Squall and wasn't as exhaysted... he honestly probably would've won.
    I mean, the guy learned fire magic through sheer willpower alone!
    He cut Odin in half with the power of sheer stubbornness alone!
    Say what you want about the guy, but his raw combat potential alone is straight ridiculous!
    H9nestly, if he had less of an ego, was a bit more level headed and mature, and could better utilize his natural charisma... I could see Seifer outclassing Squall a lot more often than not.
    I mean, troyblemaker with an ego or not, there's a reason he was a squad leader and why they tended to go easy on him when he screwed up.
