I’m an employee down at the driving range thanks for the shoutout! I have to say lakeside 5 is my favorite hole across all of the 27 holes we offer great choice.
WHAT??? Cantigny over Cog Hill? Mmmm. IDK about this ONE! I love the reviews, but this I CANNOT ABIDE. (Though I'll have to try the indoor, heated driving range this Winter!!) KEEP THE REVIEWS COMING.
Lost marsh? I believe it’s in Hammond Indiana. Those first 4 holes are something else. Hole one is a peninsula with water everywhere, very little room for error, green is guarded well with bunkers so maybe tee off with an iron or a utility club, driver may not be your friend on that 1st hole. Sandy pines in De Motte Indiana is pretty kick ass too. That’s a top lister there. I love that course. Northern Bay in central Wisconsin is a great course!! Several holes are replicated from the PGA tour & one of them is the 17th island green at Sawgrass 6:30 .
I was one of the three amateur golfers that played the inauguration round at Cantigny with Andy North in 1989. We played the Woodside course and I hit driver off the deck from the left rough on the par 5 seventh hole over the trees onto the green. Mr North said it was the best shot he'd ever seen in his life.
Karsten Golf Reviews i agree - tough choice and 2 on Lake is obvious. I love your reasoning for 5 - had not seen it that way before. 2 on wood and 6 on hill for sure.
I've got a couple of courses further west in northern Illinois that you really need to check out if you haven't done so yet: The Ledges (Roscoe, IL) and Wolf Hollow (Lena, IL) are outstanding courses for the value! I played each one at roughly 30 bucks with a cart on a couple of Fridays in the past couple of months, and both of these courses are absolute steals for the price. Both take a bit of a road trip for the Chicago crowds, but they're worth it, easily.
you gotta play The preserve at oak meadows, great condition all around very challenging course, great price for what you pay, i enjoy it more than dubsdread

Yes!! I love that feel and the risk reward, thanks for the support!

Than you again for a great review!! So glad to hear how much you enjoyed your day here. Cantigny Golf is a very special place.
Thank you Terry! A top of the line experience and hope to send many more to your course :)

Brilliant Karsten- we're heading to Chicago this summer and will definitely have a look at Cantigny!
That’s so awesome to hear! I’d be more than happy to put together some Chicago recommendations, as well as some golf recommendations for you :)
@@Karstenhultgren absolutely!! We'll reach out to you soon 👍 Thank you!
Played here yesterday and was blown away. They held US open qualifiers on Monday so the course was immaculate. 10/10
I agree! It’s simply fantastic and beautiful.
Thank you Phil!
Great review!! My favorite as well!
Thanks so much James!
Do you agree with my signature holes? I went back and forth on Lakeside, I love 2 but had to go with 5

I finally played here last week (I actually live 5min away but put it on a pedestal bc of price). It was absolutely spectacular.

Awesome, added to my list. Thank you Christopher!!
Love it!
Thank you!
Looks great. Can you suggest a course or two in the Volo area??
Thanks!
You bet!
Please review Arrowhead! You will love it!
Yes! I have played there but not made it back this year. The course condition is fantastic, I’m certainly a fan.
Arrowhead east is my least favorite 9 in all of chicago.
I play Cantigny, Prairie Landing, Blackstone
Gotta do Prairie Landing!
Worst rangers ever at Prairie Landing

Funny you say that, I think that is the best kept secret in Chicagoland. That review is coming soon and part of my top 5 :)
New subscriber, have you ever played green garden in Frankfort. 62.00 on a Sunday. Beautiful course.
Thanks for the love Chris! I have not! Where is it located?
@@Karstenhultgren Frankfort Illinois. They have to 18's and a 9. Both 18's are great but really love the gold course
man prices has really gone up since 3 years ago lol
Kids under 16 are free after 1 with an adult. Great deal if you want to take a kid for nine around Hillside on an afternoon.
How awesome is that! A great deal. Start em young!
Well you've never played the best one the Navy course, l
