Many golfers are FRUSTRATED with golf course reviews that tell them to play courses that cost a small fortune and are too difficult for their skill level. Karsten Golf Reviews provides authentic and concise golf course reviews based on their value, signature holes, and memorability, so that golfers can have more fun playing the best golf courses.
Hidden Gem Golf Courses- Palm Beach Par 3
Palm Beach Par 3 has been named the best Par 3 in America by Golf Digest and received worldwide renown. It features holes that play right along the ocean and other that play along the intracoastal. It is more than a golf course with pretty views as it is incredibly well designed featuring complex greens, a great routing, and requiring players to hit a bunch of different shots over the course of 18 holes.

maybe dial back the "in all of" phrasing
Have u ever played Atkins golf club?
Get left!
What if he plays a draw? 🙄. It must be nice being a golf professional 😂.
Bahringer Curve
The fact you included Prairie View, my home town course, gets me to subscribe. Prairie View has really matured over the years and is a true gem.
Prairie Isle! My boss Mr. Tom got a hole in one on that course! Great shot Mr. Tom. They made a plaque for him
Wow, I didn’t expect people to complain and recommend other places
Ann Briar is a must see, beautiful course and tough.
More proof that Chicago should be its own state.
F shitcago
Going in feb 2025
You need to put aome.milea on your car and come down state to play before putnout all this crap about Chicagoland golf. This info is worthless to most golfers in Illinois. Was a waste of my time to listen.
FU Jack and everyone else who turned this magnificent course into a giant sand trap. Now only the extremely wealthy can afford to play.
I played with a guy who said the architect that designed the greens at Mt Prospect came back to play it after the course was finished and he even said he might have made the greens a little too hard lol
Aldeen , Rockford
Pine Meadows !⛳️🏌️
Cinder Ridge, Minnie Monesse , Sanctuary, Balmoral Woods
Wolf Hollow in Lena!
You should try Fox Bend in Oswego next time you’re back. It is so cheap and yet gorgeous! Great video.
What happened to holes 15-17?
Rename the video to Chicago, not Illinois
No love for Hilldale? Robert Trent Jones Snr course
Glenwoodie was my go to course 60 years ago. $6.00 for 18.
Shepard’s greens too tricked up
Why did you focus on the Chicago area? Illinois is a big state with plenty of good courses sprinkled throughout. The Arnold Palmer designed The Den in Bloomington/Normal is top notch, with Prairie Vista crosstown a close 2nd. In Pekin, IL (near Peoria) you'll find the 4 star rated (by Golf Digest) Lick Creek Golf Course, as well as Peoria's 4 1/2 star rated Weaver Ridge. Down south of Springfield you'll find Panther Creek-a regular stop on the LPGA tour. There are plenty of great courses in Illinois, you don't have to stay in Chicago area to find them.
Regulars hate #10. It's just an unfair hole.
It's clearly a much better value than Dubs.
Didn you know there is another 90% to the state?
Expanding out of Chicagoland area: 1) Woodbine golf course, Elizabeth IL 2) park hills golf course, Freeport IL 3) Rock Island arsenal golf course (was closed for a couple years, but now opening again)
Old Oak C.C. Homer Glen, IL
Chick Evans is THE hidden gem of Chicagoland
Still have the plastic mats on the back 9?
@@eddiemc2 no but might as well
Ravisloe Country Club is also a great golf course
Author may not ne local😅these two always sit state public top 20
So much for the Chicago land courses, how about the central and southern parts of Illinois
agreed - this only covers the STATE of Chicagoland, not the 90% of Illinois
never went past springfield
There’s more to Illinois than Chicago
George Dunn golf course in Oak Forest. Should be somewhere on the list.
He did mentioned at the end. The best in cook county forest preserve park dist. I add two hidden gems, oak Grove in Harvard and orchard valley in west suburb. Foxfire hill at northwest sub of Chicago. Shepherd Creek absolutely best hidden gem north of Chicago almost touch Wisconsin borderline... Two many great courses in big Chicago area. Maybe #1 most best and budged friendly as well.
Traffic around O’Hare is very low and there’s a lot of forestry around there!
You need to go to Wolf Creek, just north of Pontiac! Awesome 18 hole course, low rates and challenging!
Missed Redtail Run Decatur, IL. Fantastic Raymond Floyd layout. Affordable. Don’t miss the Wharf afterwards for beverages and really good food. Can’t wait to do it again.
So far from chicago
I play there every week for golf league after work. Nice course.
Hickory point is a excellent choice also in Decatur
@@IllinoisBilliardsClub indeed.
Should check out Eagle Creek in Shelbyville. Tough but fair. Played there about a month ago for 20 bucks. Can't beat that price. Well worth it.
Foss Park Golf Coure: very beginner friendly, for those who are just getting into the game. My biggest drop off with them is unfortunately, unless you go in the afternoon, the morning crowd can dampen your experience for sure. You can't expect golf etiquette out of grown adults, which is a shame.
You mean long narrow tree guarded fairways are friendly for beginners?😂
@@music-lover8915 yea, best lesson for a first golfer. Tree=bad. Fairway=good. 🤣
Glenwoodie
I would like to add Baker Park Golf Course in Kewanee. Actual hidden gem.
Arboretum in BG. Is hands down the best bang for buck. But be prepared to get bent over.
If you don’t mind dropping the coin, Canyata is open to the public.
@rds2_golfingduck Best course I have ever played and I have played many PGA courses. It gets so little play that it is virgin. You don’t see any marks on the tee boxes. No weeds. Insanely immaculate. The guy who owns it is a multi-billionaire so he keeps it pristine. Two rounds and a catered lunch for $850. I have played Harbour Town and it was $450 for the greens fees and $100 for the caddie. It is worth it.
What did you pay for it?
@@Karstenhultgren Two rounds and a catered lunch. All other “beverages” included. $850.
You can play a RTJ 9 hole for like $15 in St. Charles at Pottawatomi. It’s great.
Hillsdale old rtj' s course $friendly, but very challenge
Maybe the title should say Chicagoland instead of Illinois.
There's no other parts of Illinois. You didn't know that. 😜
My thoughts exactly
There’s Chicagoland and then cornfields. List is accurate
@@maxmccaulley2451 I said title. Didn't say list.
Well, Byron isn’t Chicagoland at least
The Bourne Golf Club in Marseilles, IL. They have a tee box where you’re teeing off over the tree tops (I think it’s about a 40ft elevation over the fairway). It is amazingly beautiful and very affordable! It has been my favorite course in IL since I was a kid.
Just don’t miss the fairway. The rough is 3 ft deep! It’s one of my favorites as well, the elevation changes are so intense it can be a little scary driving down the cart path. Not to mention I almost always come across deer walking around the fairway.
Beautiful courses but the title should be "Hidden Gems near Chicago."
