I got married to the wrong person in my mid-twenties and it was not a pleasant experience so don't rush in just for the sake of getting married. I finally found the love of my life at 35 and could not be happier married to the best wife ever.

I recently heard a story of a woman who got married at 24 but couldn't get pregnant until her 40s and had one child, a girl.
Some people get married quickly just to have children. I don't blame them. But sometimes the right time comes by itself. So just let things go by itself and believe in yourself love yourself .
I say this to everyone who feels like they didn't do things at the right time.
The right time is always there. It may seem like you missed it, but it's there when you least expect it.

Believe truth exists. Seek it resolutely, beginning with what you are sure of now. For example. A red street light means stop and a green one means go. But always look left and right anyway. There are certain inalienable truths that exist for all people all the time. Those are called absolutes. Things like birth and death. The Bible says the existence of God is self evident from the things He has made. I believe that.

I'm much older than you, but in a similar situation. We need to stop believing that following the traditional norm of marriage, having and raising kids or, even, romantic relationship are necessary for a happy or fulfilling life for everyone. We certainly should not feel guilty or lesser for not being married, not having kids or not having girlfriend or boyfriend. There are already 8 billion people in the world, so few of us deciding not to have kids is very unlikely to affect the survival of our human species.

I’m 65. I’ve never been happier. I spent my 20’s sexually frustrated and working my ass off trying to recover from my childhood. 29 is very young. I don’t recommend getting married just because you think it’s time. It’s better not to ever get married than to marry the wrong person or get married to please your family. I never married and I’m glad I didn’t. I never wanted to. I remember women approaching 30 heard their clock ticking or got “baby rabies”. They tended to make mistakes that f’d up a lot of people’s lives. Stay in the day. Be grateful for it because it’s all you have. Make gratitude lists. Share your God given gifts with those who appreciate it. Pray for guidance. Pray for the sick and suffering. Pay attention to coincidences. Pay attention to how you feel and learn to interpret your emotions. Avoid sunscreen. It’s been found to be harmful since that Bad Lurman commencement speech. Thanks for the video! ❤️

Your video came up as a recommendation when I opened my TH-cam app this morning. I appreciate sharing your story. Life has it’s ups and downs. For many, it’s an uphill struggle. Whether it be finding purpose in life, achieving financial stability, managing work/life balance or even finding love. There are many factors that affect us. From my perspective, I’ll be turning 40 in several months. I already feel old and lived more than half my lifespan. Most of my life I spent working midnight shifts. The job helps pay bills and living expenses. But the downside is that it negatively impacts my health and social life which made me a complete introvert.

But I’m still glad I got married even when it was to the wrong kind of person in my early 20s. Love doesn’t pay the bills, but hard work, dedication will. I will cherish the time we had. But I do feel happier every day trying to find who I am again. Sometimes you lose your own identity in a marriage. I do have a child and I’m not afraid to raise him alone. I am thankful to have a good job so I can support the both of us. Even alone I will rise up and be stronger as a woman. You don’t need a man to make you feel good about yourself. You need to love yourself first before you can love another. That is a hard lesson to learn after 15 yrs.

I told my parents I don’t want kids, I no longer care about getting married anymore because I’ve seen so many guys lose so much in divorces, and even relationships. The freedom to be 31 and do what I want with no constraints is awesome because I know other guys don’t have that. I have people in my life who are upset about it and I just smile and say “that’s a you problem”
My point is you are not less for being single and childless. If it’s what you want keep going for it, I understand others feel differently, but I just want you and everyone to know no one is less for being single. Despite what Brett cooper and JD Vance say.

I’m a 67 year old twice divorced single man, youngest of my aging family who are scattered across North America, father to three women, keeper of a pair of aging dogs that belonged to one of them…and I can affirm that every scrap of that advice is solid gold that I wish I had had the capacity to absorb 50 years ago. I’d only add “try to hang onto and remember and be grateful for the things that are good, because there are plenty of other things to deal with that aren’t”. My two best friends of 50+ years and I do a podcast that nobody listens to, and I’m so grateful I still have those guys in my life to share time with. Life is not for the faint of heart, so be brave and carry on! Harvest the joy we are each afforded and endure the grief we all will experience.

Thank you for your video. I felt depressed today, because the evening wasn't going as I imagined, and I have the feeling that I don't take chances or can't interact really with anyone or just hurt them, because I don't think sometimes before I say something.
I'm 20, sometimes I feel very lonely and lost and sometimes I don't care at all and just want to move on. I think I should relax more at least I made one friend happy today. You are right, I will try to go more with the flow, thank you for your kind words. I wish you the best.

a few tips to fellow procrastinators:
    - there is often no way of knowing how a thing will turn out.. except trying
    - when the result is not as good as you expected.. make a mental note what you'll try different next time.. this is now only your baseline
    - if you can't get started writing anything good.. just dump your half-baked ideas into a word processor and start massaging then.. it takes time and thinking, a break and finalizing.. but in the end it will be good
    - if your task is too big to start, divide it. i only go shoveling snow from our staircase, then feel good about it, continue shoveling a narrow path to the bin, get bigger reward of feeling good, proceed to clear out the driveway, feeling good taking over and ending up clearing our whole yard
    - when you start thinking to finish a task later you're doing right now, use this mantra: "you're almost there, just keep at it"

I am 52 years old with no kids and unmarried 😂. Somedays I wish I did have someone special but for some reason it hasnt happened yet. I just try to enjoy everyday as much as I can and just take this journey as a new surprise is always lurking around the corner. My mother said I should get married because who will take care of me and my mom said at least i have you so i dont have to worry. I really think there is a reason why I am still single and that there are bigger plans for me, at least that is what I say to myself to keep my morale up 😂😂😂😂. I also go on vacation alone and in bangkok right now on vacation after my business trip to malaysia. Like i said yes it can be lonely and yes I do envy seeing couples together but I refuse to let it bring me down and enjoying the moment. I used to cry when I go on vacation but not anymore😂😂😂😂. I am determined to live life to the fullest! By the way good video 👍

I got married to my best friend when I was thirty-five. The best thing you can do is to live your life the way you choose. Don't follow the expectations or pressures of family, friends and your society/culture. And don't chase material things, thats not where you will find peace and happiness. We need shelter and food. The rest of life is a blank canvas for you to create your own story.

Hi Mako, I think you are a very balanced young lady. I would say what friends told me about getting married. Don't rush into marriage for the sake of being married for your family's wishes. Make yourself available to the right people. I waited until age 37 to get married and we are happy even though we could not have kids. Don't take advice from friends that are divorced. But, do keep good trusted and honest friends. They can help you. If your expectations are too high, then this will make it very hard to impossible to find your soul mate.
And another thing, if a guy wants you to move in with him to try things out, DONT. You should know each other very well and know each other's personality and behavior well enough to get married, and then move in together. I see too many men young and old that are really 14yr olds in a 35- or 50-year-old body. They should be ready to take care of you, sacrifice for you and be your husband and you should be ready to do the same for him. You might try attending a singles group at Church?

I just turned 30 yesterday and seriously such a relief. I was feeling sad that my 20s are ending, instead now I feel so excited for this new chapter. I had so much experiences throughout my 20s, got a master degree, lived in 6 countries(including Japan), traveled the world, learned 5 languages, broke up and found a true love, tried different professions (model, bar-tender, teacher, journalist, news anchor, radio host) super fun. I look even better and even more beautiful and even though I had all these experiences I still feel childish and fun each day. I’m in a great health and blooming ❤ on the way to achieve new goals and move to another country
It’s important to surround yourself with right people.
I’m proud that I was able to do all those things diagnosed with ADHD
currently I live in Italy and working on making a vlog about lifestyle in South of Italy 😊
Good luck and bless who read this ❤

I think sometimes we listen too much about what society views about how our lives should turn out. I was in a generation that believed you had a career at age 18 years old...a house and family by 21 years old and Retired at 50 years old...this is a great plan and it works for some people but a person is not required to be exact on each timeline of events. You are still Young..You are Beautiful and You don't need to follow someone else guidelines for your life and that includes your family. You have not decided what you want to do in life and that is OKAY ..Find something you enjoy doing and let that guide you to happiness ❤❤❤❤❤❤. So many people end up doing a job or living a life based on making others happy and they end up just being unhappy in life. The more you search for happiness in your life the closer you become to being HAPPY ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Im a 37 year old man in America. I'm just now establishing a profession as an electrician.
My advice is, it's important to work a career that's in demand.
My parents also pressured me to have kids, but establishing a career should always come first before marriage and kids.
In America, marriage is becoming obsolete, and people dont take it seriously, but the laws force people to care for their kids regardless

I'm finally at a point in my life where I want to actively be a better version of myself and let go of the past. Woah... what a wonderful video, incredibly insightful. I love it when people share their thoughts and mindset on things and you just went for it. The very calm and pleasing narrative going along with certain subtleties in the video was so good, like showing up on a scene... leaving... and then coming back; stoping at the traffic lights; going up the stairs; dissapearing at the end; etc. Also, you a poet too or wth was this 😅: "Advice is a form of nostalgia. Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts, and recycling it for more than it's worth." 😲

I'm 61 and I did it all...yep from A-Z. I've traveled the world and met many fascinating people with enough experiences to last two life times. All of my memories are like still photos highlighting all that is life. I have no regrets because life is too short or it can be too long sitting around waiting for something to happen. What's next 🤔 I told myself that I will open a new chapter in life. I'm going to live in Japan six months out of the year. I shared my vision with some friends and they said they'll have no problem in assisting me.
I was the same way when I was 29 and I remember wasting a lot of time with people who didn't care but hey I was young. The twenties felt like it was forever. I didn't get married until I was 45 now divorced ...lol that was the best thing. I received my degree at 60...I'm still a young guy 🏃🏃🏃

While we may not always find the perfect solution in the moment, what truly matters is that we learn to appreciate our efforts n learn patience. Being single is the exact opposite of being alone. Being alone is an option, being single is having 10 friends, 10 partners, going out when you want to, and not before, and sleeping all day if you want that too.
life is so complicated, why cant we change places?

33 year old here. No kids. Never been married either. Have been working for a year after being unemployed for a year, and am miserable because my commute is 3.5-4 hours a day in a new state (USA) where I have no friends. I feel like this is the peak of my life and I feel really lonely outside of having my sister who lives a 6 hour flight away. I never know what to say to my family during reunions.
I relate to this a lot and I feel a little less alone from your video and audience. I try not to think this is the “end” for me and just take it one day at a time. I just feel so old for some reason wanting and planning to move abroad when I get my TESOL certificate and leaving a decent paying job to be a teacher in Asia 😅

I loved hearing your talk full of truths and wisdom, with the very impressive calmness that comes from a remarkable ability to surrender where it is on place, that comes from insight, which comes from the integrated, distilled experiences of a prudent and reflective observer, and with the positivity and charity that comes from a refined, generous mature heart of a true conqueror and overcomer. I can affirm that you are not alone in what you are going through. It is a very phenomenon of the current days. But what you are making out of it, the accuracy in your descriptions, the courage and ability to see what is truly taking place, and to shape those very personal undergone experiences in a valid and helpful testimony, so that others that are going through similar pains and struggles that life undeterred throws in our ways can learn from it, the very personal battles that can and are being waved into a bigger tapestry of attainable and available common knowledge of a wider experienced phenomenon, so that deeper insights and wisdom can derive and be harvested from it, is spot on! Thank you for sharing, for those very beautiful insightful images coming from the inside, and those perfectly matching lofty images of the sublime surroundings as well.

Mako, I can relate to your posted video. My perspective is from an older vantage point. Early 20's up to my late 20's seemed like forever from that age range, with the illusion that there would always be time to complete life goals. Procrastination ruled since it was easier to set something to the side and unwind from the day. You are cognizant of these things early in the timeline and have time to ignite the urgency needed to start the life goal seedlings needed in order to reap the harvest at the appointed time. Thank you for sharing.

Good video. It seems being 29 in Japan is not much different than being 29 in the USA (and many other countries), except that Japan seems to put a lot more pressure to get married and have children.

Life is peppered with moments of happiness but it's not required. Experience the life in being. Sometimes it's the discovery who you really are besides othes expectations of their needs. Go Mako make it your own!!! beautiful winding path -Peace
