    I might be looking at it backwards, but more than anything else this impressed me with the capability of humans. All this power and speed to replicate what grandma does when she goes to the grocery store. Slow by comparison, but driving, or shooting a basket or practically anything involving motion is awesomely complex. And somehow we do it.

    • @jaymarbreguera591
      @jaymarbreguera591 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      agree. the capability of a human is so complex yet most of the time when we already learn that we just do it seem unconsciously.

    • @eagdhj
      @eagdhj 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@jaymarbreguera591 it is complex for sure, but it have had over 5 million years to evolve and learn, the computers have had what, 200 years if you count high.
      And the computers already excell in many areas where its about calculations etc.
      But rest a sure, it will go beyond us in the other areas as well, and it will be so much faster when it does.

    God the day quantum computers will be implemented as a small form factor, it'll really change everything. Even only for self driving predictions, analysis and reaction scenarios. In a few dozen micro seconds it would run through thousands of simulation and choose the best one for the current situation. I really think it'll be the biggest leap that enables FSD to be implemented officially in all production cars

    Thanks for the excellent explanation on how Tesla AI works.
    My first computer was a Kapro with 64K memory and a dot matrix printer, It really made a great typewriter, because I could correct my own mistakes before printing.
    It was a big step up from when I was in the Military in the '50s and '60s and had to write everything by hand and give it to a secretary for typing. I can really imagine how much she hated to see me coming with a revision, because it meant that she had to retype the entire thing.
    Now this laptop tells me when I make a spelling or grammatical error and either automatically corrects it or makes a suggestion to improve my sentence.

    Feedback / Suggestion:
    The animated assets are quite distracting. Eg: At 2:18 I can focus on what you are showing on screen. 2:26 & 3:44 In contrast are difficult to focus on so full screen like 2:18 and 2:34 would be better. It may be a cool addition but it actually takes away rather than add to the quality of your video imo. Maybe have them outlined in 10% or lower white opacity?
    hope this helps : )

    Great video! 👍 I hadn't really considered that for automated cars to work in real time at speed, they'll need to learn WHAT things are rather than just WHERE they are.
    Shows how powerful Human Brains are at collecting a mass of info but not consciously 'think' about it - unless it has too. We'll see, but not notice, hundreds of people/dogs/pushchairs/bikes moving along pavements at different rates, but we'll only really notice them if they step to the edge of the road, or stumble and run into the road... or are they just waiting for the traffic to pass before crossing and it's actually safe to drive pass them?? 🤔😫😱

    They need something, they don't hack half assed solutions... they engineer it from the ground up, in house, according to specific needs. And they're not afraid to throw something out if its not working or something better comes along. On point, highly efficient for time, long term cost and material.

    This is just so truly amazing I was trying hard not to cry at the sheer beauty of the complex computers we have today. it’s just so crazy to think back in the late 60s and 70s those computers that took up an entire room are now in our pockets and are FAR MORE powerful than those computers. So when you think there is still computers that take up entire rooms (now called super computers witch is a fitting name) it’s hard to imagine the sheer processing power in a computer that size and the capabilities of such a machine and is hard to emphasize just how far humans as an intelligent species (some more than others) as come and how truly amazing it is. Absolutely love the video great work.

And they will be using it on a system that is using a total vertual world view that now is based on all their cameras being stitched into one 360 degree super view. Get ready for the massive improvements this is going to deliver. This expected 5X improvement means we will see the improvements we would have seen in five years arive in one year. It's like 2022 will 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026 all in 2022. So for those saying we are 5 years away those 5 year are coming in 2022.

    13:52 a FLOP or Floating Point Operation is computing at it's most basic level either a 1 or a 0. aka binary code. 1 Exoflop for the Dojo is measured in Quarter Precision (8 bit) to get it's total while consumer GPUs are measured in Single Precision(32bit) so a 1500 dollar RTX 3090 would do about 35 teraflops in 32bit and 140 teraflops in 8bit precision so Dojo is gonna be about 8,000 times faster than the current GPU king of the market today. if you measured Dojo in 32 bit precision like a consumer GPU it would really be equivalent to about 150-200 petaflops which is still ridiculous.

      I believe it's 62 volts so that makes it 1116 kilowatts per chip and yes I can't work out the 18000 amps either.

      The chips work on less than 1 volt at 400 watts each. 25 x .4 Kw is 10,000 amps + wattage used for external 9 Gbyte x 4 edge transceivers. So 18000 amps is probable.

    *, +, -, / and a few others are 'Operations' A number with a decimal point in it is a "floating point" so.
    1.1 + 2 .3 is one floating point operation or FLOP

    Does it already selfdriving in a one way tunnel?how about,let's call them hyper leading systems..like rails???does it work already?indeed sometimes it does.but not in the boring boring tunnel.

      That is jumping ahead quite a bit. Remember humans still have control of the off switch and AI is less than sentient compared to a dog!!! Perhaps in the year 2199?

    Tesla is not the first to make dedicated hardware for neural networks. Google did so much earlier... and nowadays both android phones and iphones do have dedicated neural hardware. So the idea isn't new, but maybe their execution is great (i am not an expert).

    What is not said... is that nearly everything that is created by Dogo is also applicable to bots also, and implants. As they also need to understand the things around them in very high detail. And I can see already that computers will understand what is around them way better and faster than humans will be able to... in short order. Problem with us humans is that our short term memory can remember only about 8 things at a time... and it remembers those things only for a few seconds or minutes, then discards them, or if they are really important, records them in permanent memory. But needless to say, our short term memory dumps those things. So if we had longer more robust temporary memory, and better access to permanent memory (possibly with some kind of index of memories written), this would really make a change in how we would operate. I for myself get really annoyed at how short my temporary memory really is. I am acutely aware of this all the time. Then its gone. Who ever designed our memory was on acid when they did so. Because they left out a real lot of considerations, namely, they left out the idea that just maybe we need to remember things longer, much, much longer. And have much more coconsciousness given to a real time index of what is stored and what is not. And... have a much larger memory storage. I for myself, cannot really wait until I can have external memory modules I can plug in when I want to, to train my memory about other experiences. The same goes for the ability to read my neural states in real time, and have some external processing of those states to help me make decisions faster and better. My main concern about this is the idea that someone could, likely will influence the designers to build into those external devices... some nefarious way to monitor what I am thinking without my consent. Or worse yet, put in new memory states against my consent. And that is the problem... that Elon needs to be most concerned about... and build into his systems ways to prevent this kind of intrusion. And guarantee without a doubt that that intrusion will NEVER, NEVER happen. The same kind of intrusion can happen to our vehicles. And that should never happen, or be able to happen. I am hoping that Elon reads this post. Because I am talking to him primarily. If ever I have this kind of implant into my head... I will want it to be totally private. Additionally so for my vehicle.
