    I have a 100 gallon tank in the bed of my Ram 3500. Handy for tractors,dozer and backhoe. REALLY great to be able to stock up on diesel when price is low.

      Agreed. I run a slip tank in the back of my GMC 3500 and use it to move smaller quantities of diesel fuel around when required. It also makes life that much better when making road trips.

    It's been a minute since a Same Day vid popped in my notifications, love it! Great tip on the Boxed Def. All of our new Fire Apparatus now use boxed Def, no more bulk pump garbage. I would say that goes across the board is any new Diesel, use box Def. Great stuff as usual John, Thanks!

    We fuel at night so we can get moving first thing. We also buy the winter blend starting November 1st. My supplier also brings us boxed DEF. I have been buying bulk fuel for about a year now and this has been a game changer for saving time and money. Love the content keep it coming.

      The bulk fuel storage and purchasing is one of the best moves a trucking company of any size can make as an investment in themselves. I appreciate your comment and support on the video Jim. Hope all is well, I love watching your continued growth my friend.

    I have been lucky enough that theft has not been an issue yet. One idea on filling up at night is that it would limit the chance of condensation building up in your tank. A full tank doesn't have as much room to condensation. Thank you for all the great ideas.

    As always great info, here in Texas we really don’t need a fuel additive, but when it’s gets below 32 degrees, we do pug in our block heater, and also we fuel at night so we can be more efficient in morning. Thanks for Video.

      Great mention of the block heaters. It's extremely helpful in the overnights when it gets around freezing. God Bless TEXAS. As always, very much appreciate the support of the videos and channel.

    Like the hat 💪 yes i always like keeping diesel around mainly for emergency and for knowing you have clean diesel always run a good filter with water separater. Also always run a good lubricant in your fuel like hot shot secret. Have a good one and glad to see you back.

      @@samedaydumpster yes it’s probably the best doesn’t take much. Thought i had injectors going out ran their fuel and their oil product fixed the problem. Won’t run without it now. I come from racing so i test and research everything i use. They make products for Ford to fix problems they had.

    We use Oreilly brand Def. You can get it anytime from them quite a bit cheaper than the stuff you are using in a 2.5 gallon box. I have ran it for the last 1.5 years and never had any issues in any of my trucks.

    I can attest for the DEF thing, first time I used DEF at a truck stop, next thing you know I had a sensor check engine code come on regarding DEF at the muffler. Never used it again. I use the same box DEF

    Big off road and on road tanks, IFTA requires we kept good records. We fuel at end of day so we can get rolling ASAP in the am. Haven't needed additives so much recently in Philly, hoping it stays the same this session ✅

    One thing I do is stay away from downtown areas. Where there is a lot of stop and go traffic. I live in a rural area but near a Bigger city. I’m actually considering adding a fuel surcharge for idled hours.

      @samedaydumpster  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The city style of dumpster running is def a little different animal and the normal rules don't always apply. Ive heard of guys charging extra fees for traveling into the city, we don't do that because we are based downtown, but however you need to get creative to make your numbers pencil out is what you gotta do.

    Are you paying more, the same, or less per gallon having it delivered than buying it at a retail pump? Thanks for the video.

    • @samedaydumpster
      @samedaydumpster  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Less. Most bulk resellers will have different price points based on gallons purchased. Shop around, consider purchasing your own storage tank, but also don't rule out the idea of renting a storage tank from your fuel supplier as well.

    Damn you get hit at truck stops all the time? Where the hell are your guys fueling at? Maybe you should put some reflective tape on your trucks or something? I don't know I've never had such a thing happen... Damn you got guys that are stealing fuel at gas stations? What do they do? Run part in your truck and then pull up in their buddies truck and fill it up? Seems like it would be way easier to do on your own site than a actual fueling station. As far as def I haven't been rich enough to how to deal with it as of yet. When it comes to additives in South Dakota for I look at the forecast each time I fill up and generally run something like Howes in the winter. It has an anti gel additive and also helps the lubricity of the dryer fuel that you get with Winter blends.

    • @samedaydumpster
      @samedaydumpster  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You truck long enough, you'll get hit in a truck stop regardless of how careful and how much reflective tape you put on your equipment. It's the playground for new and inexperienced drivers.

    I use Hotshots Secret diesel
    Winter anti-gel. I use it for my tractor and off-road equipment diesel engines.
    I use Techron Fuel System Cleaner in gas engines about every 10-15,000 miles. I try to use it a tank or two before an oil change just in case it does dislodge some contamination. Techron makes a similar product for diesel engines but I don't have any experience using it.
    I picked both products based on test results and opinions from the petroleum industry experts. Do they make a significant difference? I don't know. I typically get 250,000+ miles on gas engines with good periodic maintenance.

    • @samedaydumpster

      I like the idea of using it every time just before an oil change to help flush out anything in the oil. Might need to try that. Thanks for the protip
