Great Info. I charge extra for certain items too. “Put them in last by door so we can sort at dump.” Sounds like your landfill/ transfer station has more rules than here.
Salt Lake City is very progressive and aggressive both with the waste and recycling rules for our industry. Gotta pay to play in this market.

It's good info, great communication, but should all have been done on the phone before the delivery. As a customer I'd be mad if this wasn't disclosed up front. As me, if my 6 drivers had to do this at every stop they wouldn't get their work done.
It's also impossible for us to have a customer present at every drop, it's a good idea for first time resi renters but over kill for 99% of what we do. They would move on to another hauler.
This works great for us and has been the secret to communication with our clients. That’s the cool thing about this industry…. You can do it completely different and get results that work for you. This is just how I run the show for my business. Thanks for watching and sharing some input.

What a waste of time in my opinion… 😂 we send a virtual contract with everything listed and they sign it and agree to our terms. We drop anytime if they are home or not. I haven’t had a problem yet.
You know what else is a waste of time? Grown ass men who still game in their girlfriends apartment.... Find another channel to tell everyone how cool you are.

Great video, what do you do if they throw in a bed, they don't pay you and you haul it away? Do you charge afterward to the card on file? If the card on file is not active do you still attempt to get payment? What if they decline to pay after you contact them? Thanks!
My whole business model is build on trust, forward facing pricing and full transparency. I make it a point to not keep anyones credit or debit card information on file. I still believe that there are good people in the world and that they will keep their word and pay as agreed.
Ill be the first to admit tho... If you do enough business, you'll eat a few of these, that's why your pricing needs to be profitable on each dumpster to cover unexpected losses like this occasionally.
If you don't get burned occasionally, you likely aren't be aggressive enough and doing enough amount of business. Every business takes a loss on something at some point or another.

The walkthrough is great. Must cut down on the number of issues and surprises on both sides. Why did you choose this model of charging additional dump fees upfront and not charging after actual dump fees are known and then charging customer?
There are too many issues ( even with a credit card on file ) when charging after the dumpster has been picked up and emptied. By charging at the beginning of the rental this eliminates all confusion and sets a strong understanding of what's allowed and what's not allowed.
That’s the worlds longest dumpster drop off…I can read English, I don’t need someone to treat me like a child when I rent one and read to me. Unless you’re going to tuck me in as well.
It’s about communication. This video is also the reason we get more profit than any other dumpster company in our service area and rarely deal with overloaded dumpsters. It’s about setting the expectation with residential clients who most likely have never rented a dumpster in their entire life. This is just how we run our show. Run yours how you like and we’ll do the same.
150 rentals a month profit margins 47% here …. If I ever start doing that speech my clients will ask me to please leave with your dumpsters right now ! … leaving a dumpster on the street BIG NO NO
We encourage driveways whenever possible. Some clients and some situations driveways just aren’t an option. Driveways 💯
