    Great idea using those lobby carcasses I dig the idea of using the whole animal. Would love to see a future video on how you prep and use them!

      @jeromecalderonme4526 - I definitely will make that video. It is pretty easy and the lobster really helps draw the fish in. Thanks for watching.

      This time of year Mahi thin out, but they are still around. We found some schools yesterday at 700' in a weed line off Cudjoe Key. Thanks for watching.

    Absolutely AWESOME video bud, I really appreciate all of the effort and detail you put into this one. The pop ups showing the jig heads, bait, etc were sweet. Also thanks for sharing the coordinates with us, keep up the great videos.

      @jmcimba - Thanks. I always try to provide useful information. There's dozens of channels to watch people catching fish and get you dreaming. I like to help make those dreams a reality. Thanks for watching.

      @@lowerkeysliving there sure are plenty of channels showing them catch fish, but hardly any of them take the time to show the prep / pre catching process.

    On the 4th location off of Big Pine Key the correct coordinates are 24 33 35 N 81 20 15 W I posted 23 33 35 N in a typo in the video. Sorry for any confusion.

    Nice! Just FYI, we don't have "strawberry" grouper here. We have rock hind, red hind and graysby. Those three do not have minimum size regulations, BUT they do count towards your aggregate of 3 total. Graysby has three black dots along dorsal fin and a rounded tail, normally very small fish. Red hind has same-sized dots on entire body and a black rimmed square tail. Rock hind has dots that get larger towards its belly and two black saddles.

      @user-ne9of5mz8d - Thanks for watching, and for the very specific information! I was referring to Red Hind Grouper. We call them strawberry groupers. They are smaller, usually 2-4 lbs, also without a size limit. Thanks again for watching- and its always great to hear from knowledgeable fisherman. See you on the water!

      @@lowerkeysliving there is an actual strawberry grouper, it is called speckled hind! It's pink with white dots. It's regulated differently here, but we don't really have them very often. It's important to be able to differentiate especially when visitors are watching your videos! Proper ID is a big deal because we have so many rules. :)

    Great of you to share this info, thanks. I think your coordinates for the next to last spot south of little Palm might be off. If I’m doing it right it puts that spot somewhere else

      The correct one coordinates should be: 24 33 35 N (not 23 33 35) My typo.

    Is there any boat ramps that aren’t slammed this time of year that’s sort of close to lobstering?

    • @lowerkeysliving
      @lowerkeysliving  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @brianpino7274 - it is actually not too busy this time of year: Try Spanish Harbor, its a small one on the far west end of Spanish Harbor Key just down from Horseshoe Beach. Another one is on Little Torch Key off State Road 4A (this one would be the busiest one) . Then if you want to go on the Gulf side try the End of Blimp Road. This gives you great access to Tarpon Belly Key and the Content Keys. The ramp at Cudjoe Gardens charges a fee, but gives you great access to Cudjoe Bay and the Atlantic. Hope this helps.
