Hello!! Thank you for the tut, it helped me alot- When I make the model, the legs arent mirrord so its just one leg in the middle. How can I make it so while I'm making one leg, another mirrors on the other side?
You're welcome but firstly you will need to model the leg in the middle because you need to cut that leg in half so the other side of the leg can be mirrored, you finish the leg there first, then you apply the modifier, to make the leg as one, then you add the mirror modifier again so it mirrors that entire leg in the other side as you move it in edit mode.

Hello!! I have an question if u have time to answer, when ur gonna cut ur patterns with the knife, how do u (only) ghost the body so u can see the picture behind? Also when u color the pattern on one side does it automatically color the other side also?
When you add a subdivision modifier to the cube, the cube becomes round while the hitbox remains round since it is still a cub and not something round. If your Hitbox, matches the shape of the item or has no hitbox, then you can look at the modifier that you added and you will see the name and beside the name will be a triangle, square and a monitor, click the square option and it would give a square hitbox, if its on the triangle, then it will match the shape of the model

This is a very helpful video. I love your tutorial and how you didn't use an advanced creature for this. I could easily follow it with my own pace. Now, my question is - what would be the best software to draw a blueprint like the one you are showing in this video?
my question is.. how do you get those material colors to come with the parts when exporting? you can somehow see the materials despite you being in the solid view? edit: nvm saw you exporting it without colors
For my work, we export without colors and color it in the studio, this way we have more flexibility in coloring and also allow players to color their creatures
@@azaph I figured, but do you seperate pieces that are colored differently? I assume so from seeing the double outline blocks but I need to ask [I do it that way]
From what I know, we only color one way which is Coloring in the studio so we can use the Separate by Material so when we're finish all the colors can be its on part in studio so we can select those parts to color them
do you think you could make a tutorial on animating the model in roblox studio? i know how to in blender i just cant find out how to in roblox studio. thanks!

if you wish you can message me on discord so i can share my screen so its easier for you rather than me using words which might complicate things and confuse you even more
Fantastic video! Quick question: Why create separate parts for the design instead using a single texture? Is this a Roblox thing? Even within Roblox it seems like performance would take a huge hit by having lots of parts instead of just using a model wrapped in a texture.
@@azaph That makes sense, it would be super useful to be able to dynamically change colors in Roblox itself. Have you noticed any performance hits using this method?
for the feet you just need to shape it as you shape the body but when it comes to the fur, i just use a pointed cube and shape it to match the fur, same with the claws
How are you freely transforming at the beginning of the "How to 3D model" part? I'm trying to reshape for it to fit with my reference, but I cannot figure out how to resize it correctly.
When you color normally, the color does not go over with it, you will need to use a vertex paint or vertex textures, you can look up a few videos on how to do that since i dont have a video on that.
Select a part, then at the top of your screen you will see a square box with probably a grey color in it, or it says "color" click the text that says color then it will show you various colors, click one, and the part you selected will be that color you clicked
@@feraltribe167 When adding the color patterns, you have to ensure that the subdivision modifier is applied, when it is, go into edit mode and click k, which activates the knife tool that allows you to draw on the model. Draw your pattern then highlight those faces by clicking on them or using c which brings up a selection circle that can go larger or smaller depending on how you scroll. After selecting your faces, go to the color section, and click + to add a new color, when you find the color you need, just click assign and that color when be placed on the faces that were selected/highlighted
Hey azaph! I don’t really have access to discord atm so im just gonna ask this question here in hopes you respond! My question is: how do you get those white lines on your mesh? I cant seem to find any videos about it
if you could have message me on discord, i could have shared my screen so i can give you a visual demonstration but here will have to work. So to add those lines you will need to switch to sold view at the top right corner of your 3D screen below option, then you will need to click the down arrow, which is at the end of that same section that gives the list of views, it will open a panel that says flat. Click fat and then go down and you enable cavity, when you enable cavity, the white lines would look quite sharp, to have them faded, you can switch the world which is the option thats right beside, cavity which is labeled as "type" switch that to world.

you can use vertex paint and paint it in blender, or you will need to color it in Roblox
Rhank you so much! That helped alot, but I can't model after clicking E, and idk how to fix it, can you help please?
you can switch between the different modes
@@azaph oooh ty!
my question is.. how do you get those material colors to come with the parts when exporting? you can somehow see the materials despite you being in the solid view?
edit: nvm saw you exporting it without colors
For my work, we export without colors and color it in the studio, this way we have more flexibility in coloring and also allow players to color their creatures
@@azaph I figured, but do you seperate pieces that are colored differently? I assume so from seeing the double outline blocks but I need to ask [I do it that way]
From what I know, we only color one way which is Coloring in the studio so we can use the Separate by Material so when we're finish all the colors can be its on part in studio so we can select those parts to color them
whta did you do to finish off th e knife tool? it says you pressed shift but shift isn’t doing anything for me
Hi there, you can click enter or space to confirm the knife tool or right-click to cancel it
6:25 where is the thing for the nodes? I don’t have that!
Im guessing you're using a higher version of Blender aka 4. i dont use that one for that very reason
@ So does that mean I have to restart the Modeling process? Because I just decided to move on with the tutorial…
whats the point of the platform at the bottom
to get the legs even or just to see what it would be like on a flat ground, its not really needed
Hey I have question when I create the sphere to begin model, I press e there no extrude and nothing happening. How to fix ??
Hi there, you would first need to select a face and then click e to extrude that face, and it can only be done in edit mode, not object mode
Thank you !!!!!
do you think you could make a tutorial on animating the model in roblox studio? i know how to in blender i just cant find out how to in roblox studio. thanks!
sadly i dont know how to animate but its something i plan to learn
I kinda don't understand the part where you went from the body, to the head pieces, with a model that needs an opening mouth I'm not sure how to model that, while keeping all the pieces together so I can transfer them over as one solid model. Any way I could get some help?
i see, and sure what would you like help with exactly
Hello,i have problem with my model when i remoove sub modifier it separate very bad in half, can you help me please?
Hi there were you ever able to sort this problem out?
was their a bit to make / put the head? i followed up to how to optimize but didnt see any bit about the head
So sorry ive been away for a while so i missed this comment and i didnt do much work on the head since i just wanted to show the basics to get stuff started
It didnt work correctly for me. And I followed all the correct steps. Thanks for the tutorial though. Is it possible you can an updated version on 3.1.2?
if you wish you can message me on discord so i can share my screen so its easier for you rather than me using words which might complicate things and confuse you even more
@@azaph alright thanks
will you be making or do you have a tutorial on how to rig and animate a model?
Plan to, just need to learn how
@@azaph Cool.. how do you learn too🤣
When I import the blender model to roblox which is coloured in blender it's not coloured, how do I import it to ROBLOX with it coloured by blender?
In these cases, you will need to separate by material so each parts can be colored in studio
I need help with with circle part
Every time i do it, it removes the circle, idk why
Guessing you were able to get it done seeing how long it took me to respond?
Fantastic video! Quick question: Why create separate parts for the design instead using a single texture? Is this a Roblox thing? Even within Roblox it seems like performance would take a huge hit by having lots of parts instead of just using a model wrapped in a texture.
This is done for coloring the parts, since this method does not export with the colors
@@azaph That makes sense, it would be super useful to be able to dynamically change colors in Roblox itself. Have you noticed any performance hits using this method?
not thatt im aware of
@@azaph Good to know! Thanks for the great videos!
How do you make fur, claws and feet?
for the feet you just need to shape it as you shape the body but when it comes to the fur, i just use a pointed cube and shape it to match the fur, same with the claws
For the ngons, what happens if you don’t use/fix (kinda) them?
it ruins the lighting of the model, when its in-game, it can create shadows where they arent needed or ruins the animations
when you do optimization, selecting+p+f, how do i avoid those weird gaps that happen when i do that?
Ill need to example because p gives you the option of separating, either by loOse parts, materials, or selected object
@@azaph honestly i think i figured it out after some while. i cant remember lol but tyvm for the reply
You're quite welcome and good job
How are you freely transforming at the beginning of the "How to 3D model" part? I'm trying to reshape for it to fit with my reference, but I cannot figure out how to resize it correctly.
were you ever able to get this part done?
@@azaph nope
How do you model on modeling part?
If you have discord you can dm me there so i can respond much faster
@@azaph i have dc, but i alredy found an video that helped me, thanks!
I don't have discord but, after I color the creature on blender, when you import it to roblox studio, the color isn't there, how can I fix it?
When you color normally, the color does not go over with it, you will need to use a vertex paint or vertex textures, you can look up a few videos on how to do that since i dont have a video on that.
@@azaph thank you!
How do you color in the Roblox studio?
Select a part, then at the top of your screen you will see a square box with probably a grey color in it, or it says "color" click the text that says color then it will show you various colors, click one, and the part you selected will be that color you clicked
I you do it too that’s how I model
would like to see some of your work
@@azaph I’m very bad at it and how to you draw on your model?
When using the knife tool, how do you apply what I did?
I think enter works!
@@Myrrid o thank you! Space works too lol, I just realized
Where i can found thos references pls
how do ya put in an image
This was the fastest.tutorial had to slow it down 😭
hello,do you have sp aeries? If yes- I want buying for 35,8k mush:O
i do have
@@azaph could I offer for an aeries?
i think it was alot of pain and time to make it am i right?
It can be tricky depending on the model but its fun, creating something so i find the joy in it
