Awh thanks so much! We definitely appreciate all that you guys do, and love to share our appreciation through the production of videos to showcase are share the experiences :) thanks for watching!
When Michelin first started covering San Diego, it gave Addison 1 star. It clearly should have had more, but Chef Bradley didn't whine about it. He was very gracious and stuck to his knitting. It would have been very easy to grouse about how unfair it was. He kept his head down and stayed the course. The second star came quickly, then the third. Bottom line: keep your chin up, stay in your lane, and keep busting your butt. You will get the success you deserve.
you need to show tremendous consistency over time to get more than one star, it's really rare for Michelin to award multiple stars straight away, just part of the process.
@@S3Lifestyle I will! My wife and I recently went to Saga and Yoshino in NY and loved both. Would be especially curious to see how you guys react to Saga... Thanks again for the videos!
Oh you did Saga!! We loved Saga! See our previous video hahah, we spent NYE at Saga last year, it was delicious :) thanks for watching we really appreciate it!
Sorry for the late reply!! Happy we can provide more content into Michelin Restaurants :) And noted, we’ve had a few asks about prices, but we’re still trying to decide if we want to include that or not? It always varies depending on what we drink which isn’t the most accurate representation. We’ll take it into consideration. Thanks again for the kind comments 💕
Oh nice!! You're going to have an awesome birthday dinner, have the best time ever! Come back and tell us how it went :) We'd highly recommend the caviar add on dishes, since it's a special day... they were so worth it!
I went to the restaurant a long while ago, before the pandemic, and found it to be a very underwhelming experience, with none of the rich, exciting, or even somewhat substantial dishes that various reviews and videos promised me. What I received was bland, cold little bowls of plated ingredients without even a hint of warmth to stimulate the palate. There was some richness, but of the overwhelming and buttery kind that leaves you feeling somewhat nauseous after a while, to the point where I didn't bother to stay around for dessert. Before the restaurant received its third star, I made another reservation for my birthday this coming February! Hopefully, new dishes will appear that will excite me in ways that a true three-star always should! Thanks for the video😉 P.S. Caviar and potato chips are always a good start! I do have one question, however. Do you know what supplements are available on the menu for an extra charge? I remember paying an extra sum for a black truffle course. Are there any others you can recall, even if you didn't order them? Do you remember what they cost?
Hi Shayne! We really hope enjoy your birthday dinner in February! We did really enjoy our dinner, and the meal progressed over each course, each better than the previous. Let us know if your experience changes this time around! As for the supplements, unfortunately we don't remember what they were. The Caviar and Chips were an add-on, however, we don't recall the price. As for other add-ons, I can't confirm what they are, as we didn't opt for them. Sorry we couldn't be more helpful there, but we really hope you enjoy your dinner :)
@@S3LifestyleHow’s it going guys? Well, I went to Addison and I thought I’d update you on my experience!!! I have to say, it was certainly better this time, and it had to do with that warmth/richness that I explained above. Last time the food felt sterile, and while this meal was certainly more expensive, the food felt more inviting. A few highlights for me included the caviar and rice course, which was world class (although the rice was a tad dense), as well as that same Thom Kha soup. And yet, what was unique was that, in the midst of all that luxury, perhaps what outshone everything was, in fact, the bread😂 I mean, can you believe it??? But it was the finest bread I have ever tasted, beautifully crusty yet airy on the inside, giving me a facial of steam as I opened it!!! Just sublime. For me, I felt the pastry section could use some work. My pre dessert of cara Cara orange parfait with a coconut soda was quite bland and had a frozen solid parfait. And while that chocolate torte was haunting with that beautiful tuile adding a unique, smoky note, the accompanying passion fruit caramel was too acidic. Also, I felt the wine pricing was extortionate, but that was irrelevant as this was a special occasion!!! All in all, as a Californian, I was proud to see a new 3-Star and I can confidently say that Addison can join the ranks😉
@@Tennisisreallyfun Hey, thanks for coming back and sharing!! We honestly had the same experience as you! That caviar and rice dish was incredible... agreed with the density, but was a whole we still were blown away by that dish. The soup was outstanding and we were so surprised we enjoyed a bowl of soup that much... and like you said, the bread was our highlight too hahah! To this day, no bread at any other Michelin has even come close to comparing. If we could order it, we'd fill our freezer with that bread! We feel the same in regards to the desserts, although our sounded a bit different, but still an elegant end to the dinner. We're so happy you had a great birthday celebration :) Thanks again for sharing the experience :)
Not too sure, to be honest! We only discovered this place a few days before deciding to go to San Diego and it was fully booked! We called and asked to be put on a waitlist, and they called us the night before to say they had a cancellation, we got very lucky! Thanks for watching :)
@1:38 she said it tastes like “styrofoam” from a two star Michelin star restaurant, that’s probably the last thing I want to hear before I visit! Fail! 😂
The biggest hidden jem in San Diego is #ElBorregoRestaurant in City Heights, with real plates where every dish is made rom scratch. My wife and mother in law have owned it for 20 year and serve the best lamb and corn fungus tacos you have never tried 😃
Absolutely! We usually show what we’re drinking if we’re doing the wine pairing, and when we order a bottle or two we don’t usually talk about it, but definitely noted! We’ll share next time we order a bottle :) thanks for the input

had just commented feedback on your newer video but watched this one and think this style is perfect. id watch more that are similar to this

Mostly!! Either super clean, or it’s burgers and cheat days haha! But most often it’s clean and simple :)
That's what I wondered. What do they eat when they aren't home and there isn't a single Michelin-rated restaurant within a 100-mile radius 😄
