I’ve been away for a while, and for a good reason! You suggested tons of great restaurants, and I’ve been busy checking many of them. I already visited Alchemist, Frantzén, Noma and DiverXO, so stay tuned, videos are on the way! Make sure to hit subscribe, so you don't miss any of them!
Its good to see that this channel blurrs the other patrons faces. Something a lot of other channels dedicated to evaluating premium services don´t do. Kudos !
Boury is in my opinion the best of the Belgian 3 stars, yet it might be the most underappreciated, due to it's location and new status as top notch restaurant. Great to see you visit it!
Thank you Alexander for this amazing ***star Boury restaurant experience sharing with us. Inge and Tim and the whole Boury team are all amazing. They renewed their 3 Michelin stars this very day, thanks to happy and satisfied guests all over the world , enjoying their art and passion.
Not going to lie the portions of this 3 Michelin star restaurant are pretty big. The dishes look so tasty. I have to try this if I ever swing by Europe in the future.
It depends on the restaurant, but I did an internship at Boury and Tim always made sure there was enough food on eah dish/course. You shouldn't leave the restaurant hungry ;-)
Alexander, I have to say, of all the videos I have watched from you at some truly amazing restaurants, I absolutely LOVE this one! Everything was so nice! Beautiful too. So much incredible “eye candy”. The garden outside was so nice. Loved the pure design of that one area where they prepared things. It had an angular metal overhang. So cool. Then the service looked absolutely impeccable! They were friendly too. Not snobby. The food looks SO perfect! I mean every dish they served you was to absolute perfection! Works of individual art! Really! So detailed. So amazingly beautiful. It’s sad in a way to have to destroy those works of art with your fork/spoon! I will absolutely make a note of this restaurant! Thank you! Your videos are amazing! So well done! Best!
This is one of my favorite reviews. I love their creativity and presentation of their beautiful dishes and not too much overuse of caviar (as in many other places you've visited).
How fun to see Bonny Doon Vineyard as a wine choice. I've lived down the road from that winery for 30 years and they've always made really interesting and exciting wines. If I had one last glass of wine before I died it would be another Santa Cruz wine, Storrs Chardonnay.
Alexander, i am so glad you made it to Belgium to try this awesome restaurant. I have done the interior decoration for restaurant Oud Sluis and Pure C from Sergio Herman, years ago. I can see that Inge did a wonderfull job with the garden, it looks stunning! I really have to go and see this myself now. Thx for this awesome video.
This place just looks incredible. Food, service, wines & atmosphere. Out of all the places you've reviewed this one stands out to me. Must go next time I'm in Benelux.
Yet another great video!!! Thank you. It is a pleasure to watch and listen to how you savour your visits to these amazing restaurants and more over give unique insights on the food , wine and people who make all of this possible. So hats of to you and all the culinary experts around the world that bring us dreams on a plate for us to appreciate.
u have posted some wonderful videos of fabulous meals, but i like this one the best. every dish was beautifully presented. this is the restaurant i most want to visit. thanks for all your videos.
Wow. What an absolutely stellar experience from A to Z. Hard to tell which contributed more to the experience - the food or the amazing service. And what perfect weather to begin and end the meal in that gorgeous garden. Thanks - as always - for sharing this with us. Absolutely my top channel for genuine reviews and perspectives of fine dining experiences!
Thank you Alexander for putting Belgium on the map, and yes, Boury is probably the best choice you could make in our current offer of lovely fine dining places. Great you appreciated Tim and Inge, they are considered national gastronomic heroes! Great production value, you make us linger and Dream away.. #BelgiumProud
I'm from Belgium and I'm surprised you didn't go to Hof Van Cleve. Peter Goossens is often called the grandfather of the Belgian gastronomy. The menu never seemed mind-blowing so I'm excited what you'd think of it.
ive been there and in my experience it was the biggest scam ever. food was meh for 3 stars. 1 star meaby 2 and overpriced af. some dishes were not even good. gotta say that the pastry and bread is the best i ever had. nothing comes close. but the rest was underwelming
Wonderful video with great photography, and of course the usual fantastic commentary and explanation. Thanks for taking us along. I don't know why this channel doesn't have a million subscribers already!!
@@ლუკა-ჩ4ე food was good but not top compared to other Michelin star restaurants (there are several 1 and 2 stars that are at least for me better). It felt like they were operating like robots, not much interaction with the guests. (again compared to other restaurants).
@@dirkbulinckx9974 ah that's interesting to hear. As someone who never has (and likely never will) dined at restaurants like this, the fairy-tale service, food, and environment, set my expectation to that of royal hospitality for every customer. So essentially most people don't get a course delivered by the head chef, or visits to the kitchen? Strange that even at this level of luxury there is a distinction between the haves and have-nots.
@@ლუკა-ჩ4ე in a lot of the Michelin restaurants the chef will do "something", it could be delivering a course or explaining the menu or asking at the end how it was. After around 30 Michelin restaurants (mix of 1/2/3-stars) I had once the maitre that showed the kitchen and explained some parts of it (that was in the 1-star Lido84). In Hisa-Franko (2-star when I went - 3 stars a few days later) we had a chat with Ana (the "official" chef) when we arrived at the hotel part of Hisa Franko, and with the actual chef when we left the hotel. Often in the 3 stars the "official" chef is not even in the restaurant/kitchen. For example if you take all the "Robuchon" restaurants (ranging from 1 to 3 stars) the named-chef (Robuchon) is even dead, and the name of the actual chef is less known. My experience is that in a 1-star restaurant you can get top food and a top experience IF the owners are still part of the actual staff. When selecting the restaurant(s) were I go, I do try to find these.
I watched a lot of your excellent, professional and polite reviews, but have never seen such beautiful, delicious food paired with warm and perfect service. I would have loved every single course and wine. Rarely seen you so enamoured with one restaurant. Keep up the amazing work! Greetings from Hamburg
I enjoyed watching this video. I don't know, but the white cutlery and plates became a little overpowering but at the same time it was calming. The perfection of the table, cutlery and plates is mind blowing to me
I have the Pleasure of knowing Tim and especially Inge due my years in The kitchen , amazing how this Couple went from nothing to the top in Belgium Culinarily world , and in my eyes for sure deserve a ranking in the Top 50 of the world , perfect Craftsmanship and dedication from every staff member
If it's Belgium, I think of Moules-frites! And although your meal didn't have much in the way of potato, the seafood choices more than made up for it. Everything was, of course, beautiful to look at. The setting is sublime. Most of all, you seem to enjoy the well-choreographed meal. And the wines to go alongside. 😊
All i can say is WOW! It's like your Grandest Restaurant Experience! I would prefer evening, to lunch. The bill was outrageous..but it was for 2, with wine. What a Fantastic and Fabulous experience just to see the video. Thank you!
Same for the dessert wine; I would have expected at least the Château Rieussec, not their 2nd wine. You can get a bottle of 2016 Carmes de Rieussec for 30-40€.
So I looked up all of the rest that were shown: The Crystallum Chardonnay can found for 18€. The Bonny Doon rosé is ~25€ for the current vintage. The Mas d'en Gil is 20€. The Orvieto is 22€. The main course CdR, which is also village level, can be found for 17€. (Funnily enough the beer is also around 30€). Not to dunk on any of these, they are probably great wines, punching above their weight. I would be happy with any of these at home. And they were probably good matches for the dishes. But at a price point of a 130 for the pairing, I would expect one or two 1er or GC level wines in the mix.
Have to go back and rewatch this one immediately! Thanks for a brilliant presentation as always, but there is something about the dish presentation that is very fine here. I want another look :)
And they take more "risks" in what they serve, compared to Boury. Boury is (like other 3 stars I went too) fixed on their menu and something looks like a factory in the kitchen. Hisa Franko is much better...... (went to them 5 days before they got the 3rd star)
I've watched all your videos and I gotta say that seems like a great experience for the price compared to some of the other top restaurants you've been to.
After seeing this video I have to believe Chef Boury is great competion to Chef Thomas Keller here in Napa Valley in California. His menu looked fantastic, would love to have the pleasure of Dining in his restaurant.
My wife won a table at Boury, it was a wonderfull experience. My wife did the juices, I did the wine pairing. They asked me if I visited a lot of restaurants. I replied I just did it on youtube. I mentioned Alexander The Guest to the personel. They all knew him.
