I’d be interested in eventually seeing a video where you rank all of your fine dining experiences - from food, ambiance, presentation, and service. Looked like a wonderful evening!
I dined at that restaurant a couple of times, including when they got their third star and, while the first few experiences were underwhelming, I believe the third star was well received because the last menu was unbelievable. Luxurious, comforting, and just beautiful (albeit with ridiculous wine markups and an underwhelming pastry section). Perhaps my favorite dish was actually the bread, believe it or not!!! And it's funny how you drove all the way from LA to San Diego to try Addison because, in August, I'm driving to you guys to try Providence!!! Loved the video guys, thanks ;)
Fancy place, tasty dishes, cool & chic ambiance. While I did not get all the names, certain did catch my eye through the colors & texture. Thank you for allowing us into a private night out. All very smart ☺
Gosh, everything looks so good. I only wish you'd given us more flavor descriptors. I wanted to know what that sauce with the caviar tasted like and what flavors the soup had as well as some of the other dishes. Great video nonetheless!
Wow. That looked so delicious. I wen5 to a place yesterday that was amazing in pismo. Not 3 Michelin stars style experience. But it was a symphony for the mouth and it has a really nice ocean view. Oasis Moroccan. I love fine food. This place is incredible. My friend and I shared a lamb entree and an appetizer sampler. Since it’s Moroccan it’s family style designed to be shared. Their falafel is unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. Phenomenal. My friend had the bastilla which she said was incredible. I’m allergic to chicken so I had to take her on her word which is pretty dependable. Next time I go I want to try only appetizers cuz they have even more than the oasis sampler had to offer. And the lamb kabob plate was amazing. And enough for three people at least. We brought food home. Thanks for sharing your experience at Addison. I went to a two star Michelin restaurant in Milan and it was good but I had better food elsewhere in Italy. But your experience looked like an event worth Amy dressing up like that for. Thanks for posting about it.
Sounds awesome, thanks for sharing that with me, I will add that to the list to try next time I am in the area! Yea, it was a pretty incredible meal, I am hooked on these spots now haha just have to pace myself to a few a year with the cost
Really interesting. Loved the video. I can’t believe this is the only three stars Michelin restaurant in southern CA knowing we have places like Bel Air, Beverly Hills and Hollywood
Hard to pick. They were both incredible, of the five 3 stars we have done those are our two favorites. French laundry more iconic but Addison had some really unique dishes
@@californiathroughmylens Thanks for the response! We’re going to French Laundry in October (if we get reservations). I’m also going to be visiting a friend in San Diego the following week and am considering going to Addison. My only hesitation is that my friend is a strict pescatarian (no meat, no fowl), so their fixed menu won’t work for her.
All of the food looks and sounds disgusting and probably tasted just as bad and guaranteed they left hungry and had to make a stop at McDonald’s before going home. Would take Golden Corral over this overpriced place.
It looked so good until you showed the kitchen with cooks with no hair nets. 🤮 Thank you Pandemic for making me paranoid of germs and not eating out as much as before. 😨
I meant to include the cost in the video intro. It was $375 a person. Let me know what other questions you have!
Cost with wine pairing?
I've been enjoying your upscale restaurant videos, keep them coming!
Thank you! Will do!

“This was my favorite dish of the night” x 3(?) looks like you all enjoyed every bite! Amy sure did! She looked stunning as always!
Impression came across that you folks really enjoyed yourself! Made us wish we were there with you. Thanks for sharing.
So lovely to experience this restaurant vicariously thru your video👍
Thanks a lot 😊

I always wanted to try Providence, let me know how it is!

Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and for the comment!

My brother used to live in Del Mar back in the 90s. How long has this place been open? I do not recall ever hearing about it. But wow!!

Now I gotta re-watch that film The Menu 😮
I haven't been to a fancy restaurant b4! Looked interesting
Incredible experience!!
Really interesting. Loved the video. I can’t believe this is the only three stars Michelin restaurant in southern CA knowing we have places like Bel Air, Beverly Hills and Hollywood
Del Mar is head and shoulders above Hollywood in class. I’d say it’s on par with bel air, Laguna beach, and La Jolla.
It's so gorgeous! And I love Amy's dress
I will let her know!
Sorry, it's Jilbertos, hands down! ❤
I’ve never had fine dining, but I was hoping they’d finish with a nice steak lol
haha! We left here very full
Is the tour of the kitchen part of the experience or do you have connections?
I don't have any connections (I wish I did! haha) I just usually ask to see the kitchen at these restaurants and they are usually happy to oblige.
Synchronized dining. ❤
My man figured out how to write off Michelin star restaurants.
😂😂😂
Brilliant!
As a former wedding/banquet server I noticed the servers should totally be wearing white gloves at this fancy of a restaurant.
❤
Im good with the fish and chips at the Carlsbad Beach…
100%
Josh. Since you put this video on TH-cam, is the dinner a writeoff as an entertainment expense? :-D
Yeah eating at a fancy restaurant is not for me. I could go down the street for some amazing tacos
Fair enough, San Diego has so amazing street tacos!
wait so youre not gonna tell us the cost? im not gonna go to their website.
Just pinned a comment to the video. I meant to put the cost in intro and forgot. It was $375 a person. Thanks for the reminder!
@@californiathroughmylens Thats not as pricey as i thought, I was expecting 500+ Thanks for the reply
Did you prefer The French Laundry or Addison?

What’s Northern California’s best restaurant?
The French Laundry

Hello!

4 hour dining?.......nope
