This is by far the best channel on TH-cam for reading the most entertaining comments on all of social media. And it’s even free !!!!
Yes it is.....and all of the helpful advise he gets on each video. most of those are priceless...
I do get alot of entertainment from the comments as well
I like your videos but please stop praising vevor there stuff Is completely junk
the combine should definitely one thing you want to keep covered in the winter
You have come so far in a year. Crazy people want to be negative. Just keep doing what your doing. Leaving your dream an chasing it at the same time.
So happy for ya
That 8829 is BEAUTIFUL 🤩
Great to see how you appreciate how previous owner took pride in their equipment you purchased. Great progress again Chris.
I have a JD 8820 Titan II for beans & a Gleaner R-52 for corn & love them both. Build a roof extension on that shed & get that combine @ least under roof.
Ran my 8820 for 10 years and have never raised that step. Honestly till now didn’t even know it could 😂
I have a feeling I will find some mud this year and ladder down may cause some issues
Hey Chris the wires on the walkers, are for walker loss. The rack load will be on the inside of the back wall, it’s usually a plate that lifts away from the sensor. Should be a good machine, keep the concaves and the rub bars up and the walker cranks and sieves up and she will last a long time.
Can't wait to see that combine in the field. I love the way this channel finds the older stuff, and makes it work!
"what could go wrong?", the words that gave my mother and my wife gray hair.
Great video as always. Watching you get stuff done amazes me.
New journeys for us non grain farmers, its fun to learn it with you
Very Very nice combine. Please find a place to park it inside and keep it greased up. Best of luck with harvest and keep on farming 😊
You just discovered why that type of saw is called a cold saw! They are extremely useful!
Helping out neighbors is what farming is all about when you can
Oil for the steps do wonders
U mentioned a 12 row head in the last video of the combine. Dad said it had a 12 row head on it when he bought it. 8 is all we ever ran on it though.
Howdy Chris, Yenko, I hope ya'll are doing well,
I've been subscribed for several years now, and I gotta say Chris, I am very proud of you my Friend, from working with your Family under very difficult working conditions, constantly being under appreciated, and always remaining positive and hard working, to now having your fully working farm, and with beef, which you said you'd Never have lol as a 5th generation beef Farmer, I am happy to see that you have beef on your Farm too, the combine is such a nice touch, I patiently awaited its arrival, and gotta say, very nice to see it, keep up the hard work Chris, I have zero doubt that you will continue to be a huge success Chris, Stay safe, God Bless and Farm on my Friend, Peace
Looks like a great combine
My Gramps got this nice old-school manual drill in his shop. It was obviously converted and upgraded a hunded times or so. It's powered by a powerful but slowly turning engine, with all the cogs reducing the turn speed tremendously as well. It's still as manual as it gets, having to turn the cam by hand tooperate the whole thing. It fits various drills, we have some that look like a flat head screwdriver on the top - they're made from the best material I've ever seen. Gramps says they're made from "bayonet steel" - the same kind that saw the battles of the 1st WW. Keep it up, great progress in this short time. Hope for more!
You working on that old combine makes a lot of good content for your channel.
Oh there will be lots of working on that old girl.
That’s why I watch Farm,Fox, Fab so I can watch new equipment break down 😂😂.
Tits tires or treads it will ALWAYS give you trouble
Thanks for the video's
Nice 8820! I had a late 60's 4400 a couple years ago that had 800 original hours on it. She was almost a museum piece.
You're doing a great job!
The Combine is his daily driver
Ought to buy a pickup and get rid of that blue piece of shit
Great Chris. Love the pride that you put into everything you do. Keep it up . Maybe we can change the way this country is headed . Non working entitled kids that don't know getting your hands dirty is all about
Very nice combine.
Looks clean
you need to get your pickup going , I couldnt be without mine !!! ............. I understand youre excited to get combine together but you wont need it for a few weeks :)
Get you a wool pad on a grinder or polisher and get some fine cut rubbing compound. I know 3M is expensive, but it's the best on the market. What we used in the body shop for oxidized cars. Red cars in particular seemed to oxidize bad.
Somebody has probably already said this, but that saw is known as a cold cut saw, it doesn't need to spin as fast as a normal chop saw, that's why the piece was cold to the touch straight after cutting, revolution do a similar and some may say better version of it.
I know nothing about farming and live in the UK you Vlogs are really interesting
Hey Chris , good to see ya working on the combine , I bet that big girl will eat corn with that 8 row . Watching from East Tennessee , you've got a good looking farm , you should be proud......Andrew
Combine looks a beast with duels on, hopefully it’ll be a good reliable machine and you pick up some custom work for it.👍
There Is a rubber plug that goes into the two large holes on top of the cab hood. That hood swings up to access the cab air filter.
Now you need to modify the end of your wood barn and make a door so you put your combine in.
I still have nightmares on occasion about getting down onto those straw walkers to change the bushings up front! If you find yourself in that situation, find someone that's very small..
Great video Chris thank you was fantastic put the harvester back togeather bach together and the new chopsaw is awesome 👌
Kids wanted all new equipment, my Dad always said some people have more money than brains!!
We just upgraded combines this year as well went from 2 1984 and one 1979 n6 gleaners to 2 2000 r62 gleaners
That 8820 will be a good machine for you Chris. They are a big capacity combine for the age of it. When the top bearing on the tailing elevator goes you have to take the floor panel out of the cab to get in and cut the old race off the shaft. I did the one on the neighbours 8820 a couple times in the time they had it. Keep it shedded if you can or buy a big tarp.
A hoop building wouldn’t work too bad
Hint for doing valve cover , first check valve settings, adjust as needed, next use a good glue to attach gaskets to valve cover. I use upholstery spray glue,
Live outside STL Missouri. Neighbors mowed their beans and corn due to no rain. Send that rain here...
Leave Combine Ladder up when parked for longer periods so spring is relaxed most of the time.
As for lights, you may want to put spots on the left and right sides so that you can tell when to turn. I mounted mine on the bin.
Your going to wanna order and change out your shoe drive sprocket to one from a yellow top 8820 (19 tooth from a 21 if I remember correctly). Slowing down the shoe will save you a bunch of headaches with cracks and what not in the future. Other wise those girls are damn good machines.
You are living my Dream Chris. Just ❤ all of it. Keep on keeping on🎉🎉🎉🎉hei. Love from Norway ❤❤
Need to grab a drive way drag off vevor, works really good
The only thing you now need is a good trailer even though you have the dump trailer some grain sites don't have the room for a dump trailer I would recommend to look for a Wilson or timpti hopper bottom trailer
With the duals on that combine you won't be gaining much by taking off the head to move. My Case IH 7230 and the S670 it replaced were 17 ft wide and a 8 row 30 head is probably 22 ft.
Check the tool ox for the plate ? That's where we kept ours
G’job Chris, here’s hoping the 8820 works like a champ for you🇺🇸💪🏻🇺🇸take care hoss
That backwards combine on your thumbnail really looks different, just not something you see much! 😁
You should put one of those wirless backup cameras on the combine
Install P clamps on A/C lines.
Vibration will cut into the lines with the wire ties on.
Make sure you torque the duals exactly what the book says, my buddy didn't and ruined the rims.
You have a great sponser with Vevor.
I use to think so but we bought a pile of Jack's from them and had some defective out of the box and they will not make it right
I will being that up to them. I've had good luck with everything. The manure trailer hydraulic set up sold me on them
More free stuff what a life
he needs all that loan money to buy blown up trucks
Nobody cares
It's something for the company to get there products out there and to show them off and he gets to use them win for both sides and you get to see if they actually work
Got a 72 A model big cam, marine injectors, big pump, blank plug, twin turbo, wet stacks like he'll, I love her!!!!
Oh an she runs 3000 rpm
Take it from someone who has done dirt work with mack dump trucks, get the frame hooks for the front and rear.
Brilliant!! 😂
Personally I wouldn’t waste time on a bumper right now. Tow hooks would be 3-4 bolts, even if he has to blow some holes in junk bumper
Did you put some grease on the pins for those steps ? and lube the mechanism , maybe theyll raise up bettter
I had thought it at the time, but never said anything. Only advantage of switching tractors on the rake would have been having AC and being able to take Yenko with. Kinda a pain to swap them though.
Wrong Pto shaft size , running adapter probably makes Pto shaft on implant to long, might be good shaft size for baler but tractor is not big enough
Chris with all of the rain up NY way will you be putting the floaters on the red Mack? Would they fit?
The cold saw spins at around 1400rpm and cuts cold, clean with out walking the blade. An abrasive chop saw cuts at around 3200rpm is loud very hot and Slow. Abrasive saws are like $99.00. Porter cable and so on.
There looks like an exhaust leak on the turbo. (soot staining)
Hydro filters and oil! That's your hy doller
Be sure and check the shoe angers bearing and gears i about burnt my combine up one night hard see that under feeder house
Use your old engine hydraulic oil works wonders.
Vevor has been a great partner for you! Keep grinding Duffy
Question coming from someone who doesn’t know. How do the bin end tension work if they are only on the front and back of the bin and not the sides as well?
To bad you don't have a shed big enough to keep that combine in , I'm sure it's in you future plans
You made the right move staying in the North East , you would have starved to death out in the Mid-west where you didn't know anybody ! lol ! Good looking combine , well taken care of .
Hey Duffy are you going to put up a barn or have it inside?
Corn 🌽 eating machine! That's a unit!
Before you cut your hand off, that saw gard isn't adjusted right
Hello Chris what model is that chop saw? Didnt sound like you cut anything. Nice thanks your video have a good day.
Lots more free advice in the comments🤣🤣, I've seen that sweet farms guy giving lots of advice around the youtube's. He should start a consulting firm😆
🤣🤣🤣
You can just leave the ladder down we have a 6620 side hill and we never raise it and it never comes close to hitting anything and we even have an extra step put on it
One never needs to raise it until it's stuck or bent in the mud. Then you wished you had raised it.
Mennonites around me have nicer trucks than everyone around, own 90% of all the business's an own nothing but the best...then the amish all ride tractors or their horse an buggies. Wild to see the difference between here and than on your videos.
You should not let this beautiful machine in the rain and weather, maybe put over a big tarp during wintertime.
You forgot the antisieze so things come back apart.
The combine needs a roof 😉
Hey duffy where are you going to store all the stuff like your trucks, tractor, trailers, combine and all the other small stuff for the winter thanks.
As he sells the bales off it frees up space.
@@OOpSjmit’s not tall enough 😂
@@peteparker7396 Plenty tall for some of the implements currently in the shop shed.
Trucks and trailers don’t have to be inside. All the tractors fit in the shed
That's the problem these old farmers scraping saving every little thing they had in their life some of these farmers have millions of dollars worth of tractors collected and when they die the family comes in and just dumps it all they don't give a damn one bit about the person that died all they want is the money
This was my dad's combine. He just sold it because my cousin bought a new one and sold dad his old one. My uncle in his 80s retired. So we sold the old 8820 on his sale
Farmer Grace has a good collection going on.
I almost cried when Diesel Creek scraped an old Ford (8-9N) with a loader that might have been a Dearborn loader (factory)
8820HP, that thing will breathe corn and poop cornbread :D
Look better with the wider tire not skinny duals
I didn't see you clean all that crud off the ladder assy or the combine before you installed it. I hope you did cause that is how rust and corrosion begins. I never listen to a radio when running a piece of equipment especially a combine. I want to hear what the machine is doing. You run a combine and a cotton picker with your eyes ears and nose.
I did clean it off just the angel wasn't good so didn't put the clip in and I don't listen to radio in any Harvester much listen for any noises
Should have used red loctite on combine
where are you going to park that big girl to keep it out of the weather. gotta keep it looking good
Well at least if you own a combine you can do some custom cutting for people if you you finish early buying one makes sense to me
Get a devastator to save your tires from corn stock's
On the KW oil cooling jet broke an caused the failure, guaranteed, I've seen engines on the dyno do that in 5 minutes missing a cooling jet. Aka oil squirter
I cant have a combine because the deer eat all my crops. That's why I lease out to hunters by the day.
Now you should've got Yanko over there to make sure he can get up and down in that combine
Oh, hopefully it ain’t like that truck you bought for supposed to be real good
Is the 8820 rear wheel assist or just have ag tires on a straight axle?
It has assist
That 8820 is a beast
What other people say... main thing is you make your own desiciange so what its your risk everybothy nows it better
Older version of a 9600
She's a beast of a combine
I always heard a 8820 will walk away from a 9600. I hear there a great machine.
I used to run one. 28 ft grain head and 8 row narrow corn. It would eat 250 bushel corn for breakfast. Massive concave and cylinder...
