You know, Imma just watch GCMMs (Gacha Club Mini Movies) 15 year olds make better storylines than professional writers.

I definitely agree that streaming is just better for content and convenience, but like everything, there are drawbacks. Buying physical DVDs is just the superior option.
Its sad how many people buy into the mindset that just because you have a subscription to a streaming site your always going to have access to you're favorite content. No, you're paying a renters fee to be able to watch what the site has available in its library. If you always want access to a movie or show. Get a physical copy. Or purchase a download and keep it on a flash drive or hard drive. Unfortunately, we can't do this with everything because how media has turned to mainly streaming shows.

As someone who also work in tech, this is why I'm still buying the physical copy of my favorite everything. I understand that keeping stuff that are only still use by a few on a server is not cost effective.
@@4203105 it's not just 10 hard drives. It's a server that is on 24/7, it's the space for that server, it's maintenance for that server, ... It doesn't cost billions but companies are not charities. If the server is not making them enough money they won't keep it up. They make the most money if a few media is consumed by a mass of people. The more media they have, the more dispersed is the public attention, lead to more infrastructure and less profit. They need just enough old stuff to keep you subscribed and new stuff to bring new people in. It's capitalism. Since there is no law for preservation of digital media they have no obligation to keep it up or give it up. An unlike physical media, no organization can step up.

If it's the same reason MAX lost shows, it's because the contracts signed for the shows/movies were losing Disney money. Streaming is a different game, and studios were treating it like movies and television. Disney should have paid them upfront and only offered them a cut of the subscription/ad revenue based on what percentage of watch time users spent on their shows compared to total watched in the month, after Disney took out operational costs. Studios won't be happy, but streaming platforms were never meant to be the prime way to watch a show, it was meant to exist as a catch up mechanic for TV shows.

This could be a lesson learned, the problem is that, with this strategy, they'd be cutting the content at the wrong time, when the material is no longer in theaters.
