- Disney's Snow White live action remake has been destroyed by fans every since it was announced. But now the first Trailer for the Snow White movie released and the backlash has hit an all time high, as the movie looks absolutely horrendous. Which has resulted in the Snow White trailer being the most hated Disney trailer in history, as it still only has 68k likes! But with more Rachel Zegler interviews to come, I think things are only going to get worse from here.

Snow White as she was originally written was already a sort of girl boss. But instead of ordering people around like some narcissistic psychopath, she changed the world through kindness, love and caring for others. She persevered through adversity by the strength of her spirit and was rewarded at the end for her goodness with a prince who loved her and presumably a happy life. There's nothing wrong with caring for others, or wanting love.
The original Snow White (Brothers Grimm) was a girl boss. An ancient story from about 800 years ago about the battle between good and evil, where Snow White (the princess) and the prince TOGETHER lure the evil stepmother (the queen) into a trap, and punish her cruelly.

It's difficult to see the movie when we already know the actress publicly said she dislikes the original movie, wearing the dress, the prince, almost everything about Snow White story. Snow white came out in 1937, in the mist of the Great Depression so it made sense that people especially women to fantasized about being swoop by a prince. And to me, Snow White symbolizes more than just a girl wanted happy ending with a prince. Some people even symbolizes the desire of human to be good hearted despite being oppressed. So if you look at it shallowly, yes, it's just typical happy ending story but there are layers that we can interpret.
And the fact of all that happy housecleaning with the animals is more than just being a happy housefrau. It's as much about being grateful to the dwarves, working with nature, and making lemonade out of lemons. Since the movie focuses so much on this aspect, one might conclude it's more than just eventually getting a prince.
Disney just hate everything that makes sense or isnt woke, the older pre era disney movies will never comeback, we have only F Movies for people which doesnt care.
The story was first published in 1837
I never saw Snow White as a love story. The love story in the movie actually has quite a marginal role - that's why it even is so nonsensical and the prince kisses a girl he doesn't know, because there's no _time_ to develop that story _and_ because the prince is literally just a plot device to offer Snow White a happy ending.
The way I see it, Snow White is about being a kind-hearted person, being in harmony with everything around you and helping out people, no matter how evil some people in your life are. Basically she's a model of how to behave in the world.
Exactly! she managed to maintain a pure heart and a kind and good soul even with the death of her father (becoming alone in the world) and all the bad things she endure from the evil queen. She was kind, loving and still had courage to trust strangers even after everything that happened to her.
At this point, the prince has to fall in love and save the evil queen. That would be more believable ending. 😂
Or at least help with the apple to save the Queen time.

Actors are people too, they have a right to voice their opinions and it should have any repercussions in their work, Freedom of Speech protects that right. They can bring positivity and even with them voicing their beliefs. Again, her view on the Genocide isn't a factor she should be judged by, just the way she spoke about the movie.

The demise of the traditional movie star is part of the problem. It used to be you would go see the new Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, or whatever big name actor movie that was out, and you would see it mainly based on their face being on the poster. That would draw in audiences to see original movies without them having to know what the movie was going to be about. But now modern actors don't have the same pull, and since people are getting more and more used to just watching those kind of movies at home thanks to streaming, they end up flopping at the box office. So studios are just less likely to green light movies without already built-in audiences like they get with their major IPs. Plus, they pretty much just try to go for big profits with major blockbusters instead of just making moderate incomes with mid-budget films. There's obviously a lot more to it, but that's a major part of the problem they're facing which prevents unique movies from making it to the big screen.

So, I went ahead and watched the original and I think people don't realize that the evil queen forced Snow White to be a maid of the castle. Take that into foreshadowing- when she ends up at the Dwarves home, she ends up negotiating and getting to stay because she offers to play as housekeeper in exchange for a place to live. The one thing that was used to enslave her has become something that ends up empowering and helping her in her time of need. It was intelligently written. It also shows that Snow White has enhanced the lives of the 7 dwarves with her feminine touch into their shabby and messy home. The order that she brings shows that she is fit to be a leader, and therefore, better for the throne then the wicked queen.
And the love story with the prince wasn't even the center of the main plot. Not sure how she can confidently say that when she's only watched the movie once when she was a kid.

Everytime the “weird, weird” clip plays, I’m instantly reminded of just how much society has warped the minds of younger generations of people. Not all, of course, but Rachel not even remotely understanding the point and importance of the original animated movie yet also coming off as thinking she’s smarter than everyone else is the type of toxic personality disorder I pretty much expect from everyone in Hollywood now.

Exactly. I’m an at-home mom who flies goddamned airplanes, writes books, and travels solo, both very long road trips and internationally. Rachel’s view is that I’m weak because I wanted to have a relationship and become a mom. It irks me that there was a time where the “right” way to be a woman was dictated as staying home. Feminism came along, said women can do whatever we want, and that was great. But then it continued on, and we were dictated to again-the “right” way was to eschew relationships and kids. Where the hell is the choice?

4:03 initially I was against the idea of hiring actors just for their dwarfism, but then I realise they hire actors to look like the character they are remaking all of the time. Hair colour, height, skin colour, all are taken into account during the hiring stage, so yeah this would have been fine, would also draw some much needed attention to actors with Dwarfism to get some recognition in a big budget film.
Its not even a remake anymore. They are making a worse version of the original purely for profit (one which the actors cleary don't care about)
