I never realised Clannad was a starter/nostalgic anime to others too. As a kid I kept my love for anime quiet because no one else shared the interest. 17 years later and anime is everywhere. It’s amazing. I wish I could show my younger self. To know that so many people loved and were watching Clannad at the same time I was erases the loneliness I felt back then. When I was pregnant with my son I would listen to this in hopes he would enjoy it. Sadly I'm in the hospital without my son ( had a fetus demise). Even if it makes me sad it was our bonding moment. One of the earliest earliest anime I had ever watched. Clannad was the second, followed by Kanon being the third. Back then, I remembered these 2 anime(s) gave me a depression feel after finishing it. It wasn't a bad thing, more like a "So good that it still sticks to my heart" after watching it. Too bad my friends all say Clannad has crappy animation.. WHY!! ;_; It's masterpiece man :D Very nice medley Animenz :D Indeed this piano gives off a nice singing voice in contrast to the bass :)
I completely understand what you mean by the depression feel. The anime just makes you so emotional and feely that it feels like you're trapped inside the anime's emotional journey and you just can't snap out of it ;-;
Ahh.. Clannad After story is the ONLY anime that has made me genuinely cried. I've had watched many sad animes including Air and Kanon but when i watched Clannad it hit right in the Kokoro lol. I was depressed for like a 1-2months! but there were lessons learnt from that anime. I will never forget it.. Don't think any anime will ever make me sad as Clannad..
Andre Abc Haha I have watched Your Lie in April. Finished it few days ago. It was a pretty good show. It did get somewhat of the feels.. but not much as intense as clannad. The music is awesome as well!

That is a bold statement. I do agree that for most people, watching kanon would be a better option, especially for those unfamiliar with anime or the genre; however, with Clannad Afterstory, Clannad has longevity over Kanon and when tragedy occurs it is more damaging.
One part of me wants to go to the piano and learn this. But the other part of me wants to sit here and listen to this forever! The struggle is real! :D

Wow. What a masterpiece. All the motifs are executed perfectly, and each melody seamlessly melds together with one another. Even though the melodies are simple on their own, each individual voice sings out to create even more layers. It must have been very anguishing to be stuck on the original version and not being able to find the inspiration to progress, but even in the darkest moments that we as composers and artists face, all it takes is one tiny light to spark new life and new ideas in a piece. Even if it's not what you initially envisioned, you can still be immensely proud of the end product. Congratulations on finishing this beautiful medley! It is truly a masterpiece.
Thank you Animenz, you've been the first one to inspire me to actually want to play piano. I used to take formal lessons, but I was quickly bored with how simple the songs were and constrictive the music I would play would be. You opened my eyes to the arrangements of anime music, which I have always loved the sound and chord progressions.

Clannad, Air, and Kanon all hit close for me. When I was around 8-9, the Clannad scenes with Tomoya and his father especially made me cry. Those scenes were the ones that made me cry, because they reminded me of my father, and how I don't see him very often with him being in the military.
Words really can't express how emotional this made me. I recently booted up the Kanon VN again after 5+ years and I never expected how much it still touches me after all this time. These stories really hold such a special place in my heart and I can't wait to re-explore them again.

One thing, I am not criticizing, but the song at the end wasn't actually Dango Daikazoku (Dango Daikazoku happens to be a song that they created by using the tune to Nagisa's theme), it was Nagisa's warmly arranged piano theme - known as Nagisa warm piano arrangement. But, you probably already knew that. Just making sure others don't get confused and get frustrated when they can't find that version. :)
These 3 visual novels will always be ingrained into my memories. Just hearing these songs fills me with a deep melancholy that i can't really describe.

Listening to this is so inspirational. I often forget that this right here is the dream. I've always dreamed of doing amazing things such as being able to play the piano as well as Animenz and be able to play any song I want whenever I feel the mood. But I realize that for the first time, I dream of doing something that is completely possible for me. If I just keep at it and keep on playing, one day I will be able to play just as well . Hearing those Clannad medleys really brings back all those wonderful feelings I had experienced and will never forget. Thank you Animenz for remaining as an inspiration for me and for many others. As always such beautiful playing! Your story reminded me of Your Lie In April, but a little different. You will always find that spark to ignite you again after the phase of wanting to quit! Some may say it might be an excuse to give up/ quit because of the huge pressure, but you Animenz are a great pianist, so never let that thought get to you! I'm sure everyone agrees with me ^^
Whenever I think of Autumn, this piano piece in particular plays in my head. How wonderful this medley is, it has been there for me for so many years and I absolutely adore it.
I was totally unprepared for the flood of emotion when the Clannad: After D Story opening song hit me. That anime, along with both versions of Fruits Basket, continues to stick with me every day I walk this earth. One day, I won't be here to walk anymore, but these memories will be by my side forever.

ik what ur saying the leaps and arpeggios are godly but I like this video of his 1st and his Nagi no asukara 2nd because its so relaxing they embody the essence of modern classics

These were the first three anime I ever watched starting with Kanon, Clannad, Air in that order. It is the best decision I could have ever made. The nostalgia hit me hard when I listened to this video. This is true art that I will remember for probably all my life. :)

Kanon is so underrated in my opinion, one of my favorites. Clannad will always be my favorite, but Kanon is close

My heart strings were pulled to and fro. This transcription truly brought out many strong and deep emotions. It encompasses all the things that we all hold dear to us, all the reasons why we want to share the beauty of anime with the world.

Even the hardest moment in life might later be a sweet memory. Time moves on, waiting for no one. Hearing these melodies once again after so many years makes me feel old. Its just unfair how I am turning old but these songs still feel fresh.

congratulations, its been three years since I watched all of Clannad and I took me a year and a half to get over it and here you are bringing me feels back.
I don't have words for this. It made me break down in tears and I'm not the type of person that does things like that. Incredible. The third movement hit he so hard it legitimately took my breath away.
Clannad is the first anime who taught me what is life. It made me cried a ton and I'm not who i am today if isn't for clannad. I really love Toki wo kizamu uta, dango daikazuko, and roaring tides 2

Clannad, Air, and Kanon all hit close for me. When I was around 8-9, the Clannad scenes with Tomoya and his father especially made me cry. Those scenes were the ones that made me cry, because they reminded me of my father, and how I don't see him very often with him being in the military.
The Kanon part is my favorite... Very good all though 💜

Each time I go over it, tears drop on the same scenes, with the same melodies…CLANNAD has always been the ultimate work in my mind, CLANNAD Saikou！
Words really can't express how emotional this made me. I recently booted up the Kanon VN again after 5+ years and I never expected how much it still touches me after all this time. These stories really hold such a special place in my heart and I can't wait to re-explore them again.

One thing, I am not criticizing, but the song at the end wasn't actually Dango Daikazoku (Dango Daikazoku happens to be a song that they created by using the tune to Nagisa's theme), it was Nagisa's warmly arranged piano theme - known as Nagisa warm piano arrangement. But, you probably already knew that. Just making sure others don't get confused and get frustrated when they can't find that version. :)

These 3 visual novels will always be ingrained into my memories. Just hearing these songs fills me with a deep melancholy that i can't really describe.

Slowly and slowly, I have been learning the piano, and while I may only be able to play a few measures, Dango Daikozoku was the inspiration behind my decision to learn. Despite the frustrations of learning a new craft, I am now even more motivated to improve, and your videos and stories give me that push. Thank you for your passion and dedication.

Listening to this is so inspirational. I often forget that this right here is the dream. I've always dreamed of doing amazing things such as being able to play the piano as well as Animenz and be able to play any song I want whenever I feel the mood.
But I realize that for the first time, I dream of doing something that is completely possible for me. If I just keep at it and keep on playing, one day I will be able to play just as well . Hearing those Clannad medleys really brings back all those wonderful feelings I had experienced and will never forget.
Thank you Animenz for remaining as an inspiration for me and for many others. It's always good to have someone you want to catch up to :)

Kanon and Clannad's(both seasons) openings are some of my all time favorite anime openings and hearing them played together so beautifully is astounding! Marvelous job!!

Your story reminded me of Your Lie In April, but a little different. You will always find that spark to ignite you again after the phase of wanting to quit! Some may say it might be an excuse to give up/ quit because of the huge pressure, but you Animenz are a great pianist, so never let that thought get to you!

This is so so so amazing... heaven to my ears... this was the 2nd or third anime I ever watched and has been my favorite ever since.
