Very respectful by this owner to use Halal meat and not use pork (I learned from my Ethiopian friend that Orthodox Christians also do not eat pork). He surely has a large Muslim following. I want to visit this place one day. Love from Toronto!
Continue the great Guyanese tradition Sybils. Such a blessing to have Iron Chef Marcus Samuelsson visiting, tasting and endorsing great Guyanese cuisine!!
hehe Marcus Samuelsson grew up in the same town / suburb in Sweden as me. My lame claim to fame hahaha but I never knew at the time. I remember when he first appeared on morning TV shows, and then it took a short while and BOOM he was world famous Chef Marcus haha! Good for him! :D
💙 Love this episode about my hometown Queens. Thank you for showing the culture of melanated people. I use to live nearby Sybil's and I only bought bread from there. Next time I'll try something new when I go back there.
Marcos my ethiopian brother proud of you my dear brother you are in the world famouse chef now wow .and i love guyanes roti as ethiopian .i love guyanes people too .i know about Guyana because of most rastafarian are Guyanes as jamaican so we ethiopian love guyanes .bless
omg my mouth is watering looking at all that food, goat curry, dhal puri, pepper pot, black pudding, and the bread...I use to eat this type of Guyanese bread 3x a day...memories, gotta visit this place when I'm in NY.
The best caribbean food, pastries, juice and bread you can find in Queens, next door is Veggie castle that has a variety of vegan and vegetarian items owned by Sybils.
Man I never knew Sybil's was tat gud. I always pass it on my way to school and back on the q112. Man brings back so much memory's of my FM year when I went to John Adams for HS and transfer. I remember one of my friends whole live in ozone Park and stop by Sybil's to get there food. I also love the Guyanese vibes bring us together. I really enjoy this video not only bez of Sybil's but for the memory I brought back.
Kdlegend Gaming We're from the same neighborhood--lol I used to live on Lakewood Ave. by the Q112 and the Q40 I never knew the food was that good either--lol
1:35 why is he calling it Blood Pudding. I hate when Guyanese do that. Is that the American term? Its called BLACK PUDDING exactly like in Northern England, except we put rice and herbs instead of oatmeal.
It all looks great, but the bread would earn a snarky comment on The Great British Bake Off. I love how when people meet, one of the first (nice) things they do is combine food and come up with something more delicious.

Big up all my fellow Guyanese!
@eater what is the dish at 51 seconds?
the meat and veg mix for the Guyanese style Chow Mein
Yes, the mix for the Guyanese chowmein. Different from Chinese chowmein. Notice the yellow soft noodles (chowmein) that follows just after.
Hate driving to Queens...yet I must😋😋🤫
I really wanted to go to Sybil when i was there. 😢😢😢😩😩
Roti with chicken is sooooooo gooood.

Its called BLACK PUDDING exactly like in Northern England, except we put rice and herbs instead of oatmeal.
Zoch Buppet it does consist of blood so..
Im guyanese and its called black pudding
It all looks great, but the bread would earn a snarky comment on The Great British Bake Off.
I love how when people meet, one of the first (nice) things they do is combine food and come up with something more delicious.
They are cooking fast in a take out out place, maybe a bit too fast....At home or someone house you would definitely hear the comment
Blood pudding in not from anywhere in Europe. There is blood pudding, but it’s called “Haggis”. Which is a casing filled with blood.
Nice Doctor cosplay.
muss ga luv a gt pepperpot
Pepper is African.
However Guyanese Pepper pot is made with Casareep sauce created by indigenous people of Guyana from Cassava.
Nice scarf... hahs
as an indo guyanese, we are not healthy people..very poor diet in our community...most indo guyanese over 50 have heart disease or diabetes.
